This is scam

This is scam. I advertised a car on Autotrader and a person wanted to "buy the car unseen" but only if I paid for a motor history report from this company. According to this website you have to be the registered owner of the car to request a report. This is rubbish. They just want your credit card details.

If you are trying to sell your car on a…

If you are trying to sell your car on a website such as Autotrader, beware of a potential buyer who is very keen on your car, with lots of questions via text, then pushes and pushes for you to obtain a vehicle history report. When you finally agree they will recommend using Inspectomaster, and even send you a link and a of a report that they obtained for a car they were selling. Once you have paid your £50+ fee, you will not be able to contact that person again via text or calls. In addition they never turn up to view the car. This company was only registered in 2026 and is registered in the UAE. Also be aware of 'Carsreportuk' they are also linked to this company.

Believe link on online fraud

I believe this website is linked to fraudulent online activities and designed to harvest information about yourself.

I was advertising a car on autortrader and was contacted by a prospective buyer. They requested and were quite insisting that I pay for a vehicle report before they would come and see/buy the car and to let them know when I had loaded the payment details.

Alarm bells were ringing. When I queried the individual they went quiet.
