Luke missed so many flaws on the property we purchased. Defects that, if pointed out in the report, could have enabled us to offer 10s of thousands of dollars less in negotiations.
He also sent his nearly perfect report to the estate agents which he had no right to do as it’s our property.
When questioned he became defensive and rude and offered up flimsy excuses as to why he missed so many things, even going so far to say that I could of seen some of them myself!
His dodgy report has cost us a lot of money, I’m incredibly angry and wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.

Please DO NOT USE Inspector Hawkeye for your building inspection as Luke isn't professional and highly unethical. He did not inspect the property properly. He came across very friendly but his reports do not have any pictures attached. When we confronted him, he started name calling, racist remarks and very unprofessional.

I've to get another Building Inspector report done with find the property I've purchased have major defects and compared to Luke report was completed different. Not sure if Luke physically in the property when performing the report.

I've informed the Real Estate agent, lawyer and other inspectors about Inspector Hawkeye service and show them the text messages Luke sent. For those have given Luke a five stars and I would suggest you to have another Building Inspection done and compare them.

I would highly NOT recommend anyone to use them. There are many other Building Inspectors out there that are honest and ethical.

Michelle and Luke were very polite and professional up until I raised my concerns as to why things were not picked up during the initial inspection.
We got them to inspect a new build 4 days before the settlement day. Luke gave us a standardised report pretty much saying all was great except some scuff marks on the wall and paint stains on the door.
Upon moving in we noticed loose floor boards, protruding nails from inside the drawers, missing gap in the alfresco, faulty exhaust fans, loose tap amongst other things.

When we reached out to them, we were pointed towards the builder to get it fixed, which we did. But when we chased them to take accountability that those things were indeed missed in the initial inspection, we were met with lack of accountability, screaming attack from Michelle and my number being blocked by Luke.

Appalling!!!

And in case you’re wondering, no, this not a vanity review and I have NO connection with this business as a friend/relative/investor - nothing, I promise to God, Shamans, Buddah, Allah or the Universe!

I feel like I wasted a lot of money! I was charged the same amount as a large home for a small two bedroom apartment. The report was so basic, generic answers and nothing specific to the inspected property.

The team were nice, prompt and great at responding but overall disappointed with the inspection. Maybe I should have asked more questions to make my expectations aligned with what they do but I was in rush to get it done and this was my first time needing this service so wasn’t sure what to ask. However since that time, and speaking to friends who have had similar reports for hundreds of dollars less and better more detailed reports.

It gave me no reassurance, and feel I wasted my money.

Please get quotes and sample of report to check you are happy before going ahead.

Luke was very accommodating to perform an inspection for us on a public holiday. He also made time for us to talk through any questions we had with the report, and was very honest with his assessment. Would happily engage his services again and recommend to others.

Luke has a very professional approach and has a standardised and easy to read reporting process. Luke was happy to chat post the inspection to clarify some of the items mentioned in his report. We also found being at the property at the same time as the inspection great as we could talk through his observations at the time.
I would definitely engage Luke again if we needed an building/pest inspector.

Since I purchased my property, I've noticed multiple issues that Inspector Hawkeye should have noticed, such as a leaking garage roof, the garage door not closing properly, MDF doors for the unit and side garage door, the floor in the bathroom next to the shower is damp right next to where the shower door is, so many issues and coming at such a cost to me. No pictures to prove that a thorough inspection was conducted and to the surprise of many people I know. I called Luke to question his report and he became defensive about it staying he was standing by his report, of course he will!! I have the report but I don't believe that a building inspector can complete a property inspection in just over 35 minutes! I would NOT recommend Inspector Hawkeye. Do not waste your time and money!

We contacted Inspector Hawkeye for a final defect inspection and were thoroughly impressed. Luke has a great attention to detail and provided us with a fantastic report on the same day! Such a great service.

We thought he seemed genuine but don't trust him. We are first home buyers and he screwed us over. There was water damage we were unaware of untill our tradesman point out extensive water damage in the bathroom ( carpentry was mush) and on hallway wall on other side of bathroom. Alright he couldn't see under to bathroom tiles but he will not take responsibility for not picking up lower half of wall in hallway. The hallway wall is soft enough to push a finger through. He blames our current renovator. Get some else who you can depend on.
