I've had my Instagram account for years and today I went online messaged a gaming buddy we had a laugh I watched two reels exited the app few minutes later I logged in and my account was suspended my Facebook similar suspended I broke community guidelines for sending a friend a message as well as watching 2 reels and leaving the app given Facebook ads promotes adult content and nudity you report that cool few days nothing and then it's back to showing that ads like it's all handy dandy seriously same with Instagram they promote adult content but when you follow the rules your account gets suspended if you are a parent please be advise Facebook and Instagram is basically pushing adult content on everyone don't install or even bother with social media anymore avoid at all costs

My instagram account got suspended with no eligibility to appeal for no reason , I had not been on it or posted anything. I have not received a email explaining that they are suspending my account or my account had suspicious activity on it. My account got hacked two weeks ago my name and profile photo changed so I changed my password and thought that was it. Now I have no way of getting my account back when I haven't done anything wrong. No customer service or anyone to speak to it's awful there allowed to treat people like this .

My instagram account @jodieanneuk has been wrongfully suspended now twice in 1 week, the first time they apologised and said it was a fault on their side (their crappy AI bot system), so I was allowed to post on my account again. 6 days later the SAME THING happened again, instagram want me to re upload the same documents they received from me only 6 days ago. I am suffering loss of earnings due to there wrongful suspension. I am now considering getting a lawyer involved due to the stress this has caused and the loss of earnings from my buisness. How can you apologise and say my account does follow community guidelines for 6 days later to re suspend it again. I have been told I have a good case, and will be running with it I have the money to. 1000s of people are dealing with the same thing, instagram sort it out before you loose everyone and your business also suffers!! Account got banned for no reason. i got asked to verify my account with ID and image. afterwards it finally got closed.
After the account is closed (for no reason) there is absolutely no way to contact any support.
So they close your account and you cant do anything about it - not even talk to anybody.
Discriminatory AI Content Moderation
Due to discriminatory practices I have had two accounts taken down for LGBTQ+ content on which I mostly just post the announcements and parties of set flyers. I have heard the same thing happening to dozens of other LGBTQ+ accounts since the beginning of March of 2026. So far, I haven’t had no way to get any of the information or the account recovered.

Scheduling posts is unnecessarily complicated and poorly designed. There is no central overview inside the Instagram app, and scheduled content can be difficult to find or even invisible depending on how it was created.
Instead of offering a clear and unified workflow, users are forced to switch between the Instagram app and the external Meta Business Suite. This creates inconsistency and confusion.
For a company of this size with thousands of employees, it’s surprising how poorly designed and unintuitive the user flow still is. Basic functions feel fragmented instead of being streamlined into a clear, consistent experience.

The main complaint involves accounts being wrongfully suspended or banned. This is often without clear explanation and with difficulty appealing. This underlines core principles of false accusations. It has been numerous amount of times, I have experienced my accounts (both Instagram and Facebook) suspended for severe violations like child exploitation, that of which many of us insist is completely false. Secondly, the AI glitches. So many of us ultimately (and for a good reason) blame glitches or errors in Meta's automated AI moderation filters for these wrongful bans, because the timing often ironically falls with mass-ban waves. There are actions of bullying and sexual commerce (btw that is against their community standards). And who does the website/app ban? The person standing up against it! It is so unreasonable for the reporting side to be banned and permanently suspended for not being a useless bystander. They are hit with a message saying, “we reviewed your report and found that [user] does not go against our community guidelines.” And the annoying part is, they say if you need help, contact 9-8-8. Excuse me, what would that do to get rid of the bullying? Absolutely nothing! Plus, lack of support takes away time. We are stuck, being unable to contact a real person to resolve the issue, resulting to extended loss of access to businesses or personal accounts in general. Continuous instability and technical issues keep ending up to be a source of user frustration, specifically following updates. Moreover, I am experiencing issues such as the app being completely unusable, buttons not working, feeds failing to load or getting stuck, and issues with posts not showing up on my profile, chats just disappearing, etc. Posting and Editing Glitches: Specific bugs include drafted posts losing custom captions, hashtags, music, mentions, etc. Furthermore, there have been numerous times where I experienced issues with no sound playing on videos across the app.

My experience has been incredibly negative. I’ve reported several accounts with scam links to nsfw/18+ content as well as active self harm/real life gore/deceased people on posts or even as their profile pictures and it’s always ruled as there being “no violation”. I have been locked out of my Instagram account (@_themayadx) since 6 April 2026 due to a persistent recovery loop following a suspected compromise. The official recovery tool at instagram.com / hacked repeatedly fails, preventing me from regaining access.
Despite exhausting all official recovery options across multiple devices and browsers, the issue remains unresolved. My account is still visible in my Meta Business Suite, and I continue to receive official Instagram emails, confirming my ownership. However, I am not provided with an alternative verification method.
As a Meta Verified subscriber, I expected priority support and a clear path to resolution. Instead, I have been repeatedly redirected to the same malfunctioning recovery process, with support cases closed without meaningful assistance.
This experience highlights serious flaws in Instagram’s account recovery system and customer support. A platform of this scale should provide reliable, effective, and accessible human support when automated tools fail.
