Since the Beem change

Since the Beem change, the website is terrible, the customer service is awful.

'Contact us' on website is a joke. Nobody bothers to reply.

Complained in branch and had them escalate the issue so someone did finally email. Standard 'we are trying' vapid response that did not even so much as reference the problem I was complaining about. No follow up. No interest in specifics of problem. Not so much as a 'sorry for your troubles'.

THEY DON'T CARE. (or they do, but are so incompetent as to not know what to do to solve problems)

Changing banks. Made it clear to manager why I was leaving Beem. Nobody (who can effect change) cares.

Bank elsewhere. You have been warned.

Watch out for hidden inflated fees

Watch out for hidden inflated fees. I was suddenly charged $16. Mos for overdraft protection that I never asked for in a savings account that I hadn’t looked at in a few mos. And had no charges prior. When I brought it to thier attention they refused to reimburse me for the 6mos they collected. Closed account and super disappointed I guess this is to do with Beem merger.

Very Poor Banking Option

Each time I've gone to do online banking I am never able to log back in with the same card number and password, then after 2 attempts I'm locked out and must phone or go there in person and get another pass key code. Regarding RRSPs The best they could offer 4 years ago is .90% locked in for 5 years, I go over to the RBC and they offer min 2% to max of 4% for 5 years. I move the 1st ones from Credit Union that they had promised when I put them in there would be no withdraw fees but then charged me $60 to move them over and then the same for each of the RRSPs as they came due. RBC simply paid that fee on my behalf each time but also updated their 1st offer on 1st install to 4%min - 8%max, 2nd install 6%min to 12%max, 3rd transfer to them min 8% - max 16%. This indicates Credit Union not working for me but RBC definitely is. Regarding service, they started out with 8 attractive tellers, then 5 got pregnant and they were down to 3, but soon they got married off and moved on and now they got what all the other banks have except good service.

Ageism

Unless you are rich and aren't over 60 they treat you like any other bank, CRAP! Their attitude and policies are the same.

Banking with social purpose

Banking with social purpose
ISCU’s rates are usually competitive, if not better tan the big banks.
Their call centre is good with the added benefit of a “leave your number” for callback feature.
They are big supporters of social initiatives in the communities they serve.
