First Class Service
For some time I had tried to find a local business to replace a battery in my 30GB Classic iPod, without success. I then made the grave error of trying to fit a new battery myself, (I have no electronic experience!) I thought I had ruined it. I decided to search the internet for a suitable company and finally decided on iPod Parts UK. Although I was apprehensive about sending my iPod for repair, I shouldn't have worried. I received a concise email pointing out the problem I had created, together with an estimate for repair, which was very reasonable. I received a further email telling me the repair was completed and on payment of the invoice the iPod was posted back to me. I am very pleased with the work carried out and the iPod is as good as when I first bought it. I can't recommend Daniel and his team enough.
Why didn't I do this years ago??
The battery and screen were destroyed over the course of my adolescence, so my iPod Classic 160GB had been left in a drawer for years. But music listening just isn't the same on modern devices. I wanted it up and running again with my own collection - so I reached out to this little company in Manchester. Absolutely over the moon with getting my iPod restored. It was swift, secure, very reasonably priced and Daniel was very friendly and communicative. The battery is like it was when I got it and I can actually see what I'm listening to. I can't recommend them enough!

Delighted with the new battery on my antique iPod! I was bit worried after the usual guys I use (Tom French at Fixit Repairs, in Ashford) seemed to have closed up shop. Daniel did a great job, and got my iPod back to me in good time before I left the UK. Can't recommend enough!
I- Pod Classic new battery install by I Pod Parts UK
I came across an internet article about what you could do with old I-Pods- and that article included the names of some companies that repaired/refurbished them. I Pod Parts UK/ Obsolete Services was one of the companies mentioned.
After a google search, found their website and followed up with an enquiry email. Daniel replied later that evening.
Posted it on a Thursday – received an email and Invoice 2 days later (Saturday!) telling me the new battery had been installed and tested. Paid the Invoice on the Monday and then waited!
By the Friday ( 5 days later) I hadn’t heard anything so definitely anxious, emailed, Daniel followed up informing me I would have it by the end of the week and sure enough it has been returned with Royal Mail 24hour Tracked service.
Working great – so pleased to be using it again.
Couldn’t be happier
I couldn’t be happier with the service from iPod Parts UK/Obsolete Services. The repairs to my two iPods were completed quickly and perfectly, and Daniel was responsive and helpful in communications. I’ll be recommending this company far and wide.
I’m a happy customer
I was a little bit nervous about sending my very old, much loved iPod classic away for a battery replacement but I wanted to hear my music again. After inquiring about their service via email I decided to send it off. Daniel has done a brilliant job! I’m so pleased that I put my faith in him. It has taken just under a month from the time I sent it off to the time I received it back again and it was packaged up with care. Any questions I wanted to ask were answered very quickly via email. The whole process was very easy. I’m so happy to have my lovely iPod back. I would definitely recommend this company.
Great repair job at reasonable price
My click wheel stopped working on my iPod classic. Daniel at iPod parts uk fixed it for less than £30 including return postage. Great communication and carried out the work quickly.
I can now access all the music I had stored over many years so I’m a happy bunny!
Fast reliable service!
I was a bit worried about sending my iPod off to be fixed but Daniel did an amazing job. Very fast turnaround was only about a week for a battery replacement. Would definitely recommend his services. Thankyou so much!
Absolutely brilliant!!!
Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish, These lot are absolutely fantastic. I first emailed them to get a feel for where I was sending my beloved ipod. Daniel was very quick responding to my My emails, very helpful and I got my ipod returned in next to no time in perfect working order for the first time in years. This thing went travelling with me, my wife and kids back in 2010, so was very precious and it meant a great deal to me that such care was taken with it. I cannot recommend these guys enough.
Great service
Thanks for changing the battery on my iPod nano 1st gen - it works great now!
Took six months, no explanation as to why
I posted my iPod on the 7th September 2024. I expected it to take some time, but I didn't expect it to take 6 months. No explanation for the delay. I had to send many follow-up emails and I feel like if I hadn't, I would never have seen my iPod again. There seems to be some kind of communication problem at their end, and they don't seem at all interested in fixing it.
After posting the iPod I received no confirmation that they had received it, so on the 17th September I emailed them to ask. 2 days later they confirmed that they had it and were looking at it. 10 days after that they told me the problems with my iPod and gave me a quote. I confirmed that I was happy to proceed. That was on September 29th.
A little over 2 months after that, on December 1st, having heard nothing from them in all that time, I emailed them once again asking for an update. I received no response. That was the end of the first email chain.
After waiting a little over a month for a response, I started a new email chain on January 6th asking once again for an update. The response I received said, "The technician just needed your confirmation on this drive to finish", and I was offered a choice of 128 or 256GB. The implication here was that it was they who were awaiting a response from me, but this response was the first time I'd been informed of this decision. I told them I'd want a 256GB drive, they said they'd queue the work, and that was the end of the second email chain.
A little over a month later, on February 11th, having once again heard nothing, I emailed them again asking what was taking so long. This time the response told me:
"The last update I can see is from January where technician Paul has asked if you need this formatting for Mac or Windows, I apologise if we have missed this response"
I have no messages from Paul at all. Once again they were waiting for me to answer a question that they never asked.
On March 2nd they told me my iPod's repairs were finished and sent me a payment link. I paid and sent them my address for postage. It finally arrived today on March 16th.
As I said at the beginning of this review, there seems to be a communication issue with this company, and they don't seem at all curious as to what may have gone wrong.
Edit: Their response below is exactly what I'm talking about. I have told them multiple times that some of their emails are not arriving. Either someone was misspelling my name, or there is some kind of technical problem. Instead of addressing this, they once again act like there are a bunch of emails from them just sitting in my inbox waiting for a response from me. There aren't.
I really don't know what I could have done differently here. Dealing with this company is like talking to a machine that can't understand that something has gone wrong.
I should also note that they included my full name in their public response to this review. This is against Trustpilot's terms of service and very possibly also the law. I believe this was done vindictively.
EDIT 2: And to top it all off, their 'repair' only lasted 5 months before crapping out. Ipod now reports no partition found. I suspect substandard or incompatible parts were used. A complete waste of time and money. I'm no longer surprised that they can't spell my name, I'd be amazed if they can spell their own.

Took over a month to get the IPod delivered back
My iPod apparently only needed a replacement battery and the work took over a month to complete. Got it back and I am happy with the battery replacement but the pause button doesn’t work very well (this was a problem I would have thought they would have noticed, obviously this was my fault but I was not aware of this fault due to my iPod not working when I sent it off…) I might add it often took 3 days to reply to my emails but it only took them about an hour to respond to my review

Brilliant service
Just so pleased to have found these guys. Daniel got my 20 year old working iPod (with sentimental value) working perfectly.
Have recommended to others I know who need iPods servicing.
They are really busy so be patient - sometimes takes a while to hear back (a week or so) but you can rest assured they are passionate about what they do. You’ll get a good result.

I sent my iPod to you over 2 weeks ago to replace the the battery and a new SSD and USB C connection cable. I have sent emails asking when my iPod will be returned once l have paid. As yet, no answer back from them. Also, unable to call them as no telephone number is advertised.

I ordered a new front for my ipod video. It arrived quickly and was easy enough to change. Perfect fit. Would highly recommend.
Jack/Hold Switch Replacement Service
I can finally lock my Ipod classic and no more pausing music due to the dodgy jack. New hold switch / jack, perfectly working now.
Totally professional
My iPod classic HDD failed and as it has great sentimental value looked for someone who could repair it. I found iPod parts online and from first contact to the receipt of the repaired item they were totally professional. HDD was replaced with an SSD and it's all back up and running as new. Can't recommend enough
Item never came, unhelpful, unprofessional
After a couple of weeks of ordering an item, I sent an email asking for the status of the order as the site claims it would be 2-5 working days. They said they would raise it with Royal Mail, but I was never updated despite chasing them up with emails. A replacement was never sent which they claimed they would also sort. I found them to be unhelpful, unprofessional, quite rude and a waste of time.
