Stay AWAY! I used IRA Financial trust to set up a self directed Roth IRA, since places like Vanguard and Schwab don't let you do that.

However, when it comes to transferring money to and from their account, it is an unrelenting nightmare. Any and all transfers require email after email, phone call after phone call. The staff apologizes, but there is always a problem. Their money transfer procedures are astonishingly incompetent. Find another vendor! You have been warned.

Wow, what a treat! Prompt, competent, friendly, well staffed service. Becky S was exceptional. Somebody wise, discerning and hardworking at the top runs a tight ship. As the owner of multiple small businesses, I know all to well today's challenges. I'm glad I found you several years ago. Staff has repeatedly helped me thru detailed requirements! Suvie Fogelman, was exceptional - she walked me through everything I needed using the on line website. Her directions were clear and concise, while being very patient with me as I was using my computer to complete forms to deposit money from my checkbook IRA into my custodial account and at the same time complete the form for my IRA mandatory 2025 distribution. She is kind, patient, understanding and extremely knowledgeable. I hope she is or becomes a longterm employee - the World needs more competent individuals like Suvie!

I was able to get a response rapidly with clear direction. The directions were concise, but also included corner case scenarios such as "here is what to do if your counter party institution has not liquidated into cash." I worked with Avery Feterl

RUN, R-U-N!!
As some already commented, their processes are not streamed through 1 person. My emails receive multiple employees replying and causing contradictory info. I’ve even received emails with no contact person signed to the email. It’s a sloppy way of doing business.

Some forms I signed were on DocuSign originally, then were handwritten. How does IRA Financial even know what forms a client signed if not all in DocuSign. A few emails stated nothing in my account, then a Quarterly Report showed a sum in the account. Which is it?! Then when I’m told by email zero is in my account since so & so date, why were fees charged to me? Why didn’t they send a Close Account form?

They wrote me multiple emails about whom is my rep and about forms whether done or not. I became the informer and sent IRA forms already done. This also is a big issue that we, the client, may have a bad Authorized Representative (AP). I’m certain IRA Financial knew this but didn’t tell me.

One hand doesn’t know what the other is doing. No one will explain to you why event(s) are wrong. I would never do business again with IRA Financial. They assisted in my loss of thousands by not notifying me of no return on a sale of my investment. Yet, they call it a self-directed account and multiple phone calls to them with NO RESULTS to solve my login issue for a very, very long time. THAT’s a problem. Oh and don’t write me a response to call you. You pickup the phone.

UPDATED 11/21/2025:
So, I called IRA Financial this past week and the man posted in their reply to me, HUNG UP on the phone, DID NOT CALL ME BACK. I’ve sent multiple emails with questions. He refused to reply nor provide paperwork per my requests. I still didn’t receive assistance to login into my account. I either have money in my account as paperwork presumably stated or it is not. WHERE’S THE PAPERWORK, I asked to them. I’m disgusted that this company is not cooperative. They have all my paperwork.

The company delivered to what it promised me in setting up the ROBS account, walking thru the process, being transparent and executing it to the tee. It is important to me because I'm new to the whole process.
All of the above can only be accomplished only when company has competent resources handling the customer needs. People make it happen.
This is where Maria Esposito, ROBS specialist needs special mention. She worked with me on daily basis, answering all my questions, clearing my doubts as the process took time (08/01/2025 to until now). She has been extremely patient and walked me thru the process multiple times and always followed up with me after each step in the process. She is a pleasure to work with and not to mention her subtle sense of humor!

We have used IRA Financial for the past 7 years for all the IRA accounts in our family. They are simply fantastic - they are knowledgeable and responsive. Recently we needed some changes with our IRA. We were helped by Asa Moring - he beat all our expectations!

There was confusion on my end around which of my 2 accounts needed a form edited (per the email I received). Brittany is very knowledgeable re: Navigating your process and utilizing the on-line tools. She thoroughly addressed all my questions, patiently waited while I reset my password, resolved my issue and advise me on how to best execute on next steps. After I hung up the phone, my first thought was: "What an outstanding customer experience"!
