I would avoid them

Really good when with them. Bills are clear, website is good. But after I moved houses and had to switch, it took forever to sort out what they owe me and eventually close my account. I called and spoke with them at least 3 times and they were always reassuring that they will sort out and close my account very quickly. It took couple of months at the end.

Company did not apply my Direct Debits…

Company did not apply my Direct Debits to my account. No amount of chasing up on their support mailbox had any effect, they just marked the comment 'resolved'.. I got out as quickly as I could with them owing me money which I gave up on.
Now to add insult to injury, I have a letter from the administrators demanding money from an outstanding debit balance.
There is something very wrong with Ofgems vetting and monitoring process. This is a massive government regulator with a staff of 761, what are they all doing?

Terrible company.…

Terrible company.when i signed up i explained that I was disabled etc. When winter comes round get told that they are too small a company to belong to the warm home discount.I so I say fine shall switch to EON.Iresa say no as I owe them £40.So I pay them off only to find that EON have run out of money so now £140 short.A month goes by and I get an online bill for £1267 I live alone so where does that amount come from.It takes months just to get a realistic bill. Its been an anxiety building year or so.luckily I moved 4 months ago Thank the Lord for Utility Warehouse. If I owe Iresa money thats unfortunate for them

I'm so excited that Iresa ceased to exist

People should complain to Ofgem about dodgy suppliers like Iresa

I'm very happy I complained about Iresa, evidently many others did. That's why they not exist anymore.

I urge people to complain about bad suppliers!

I had an account with Iresa

I had an account with Iresa. Terrible customer service. I could never get through to their customer service department. My phone battery lost charge due to the queue being so long. I ended up cancelling my direct debit with the thought that they would end up contacting me. They didn't! Totally incapable. Appalling service at best.

Stealing peoples money

Between Iresa and Octopus Energy they seem to be doing a good job at stealing money that does not belong to them.

Its surprising how Ofgem have allowed yet another corrupt and incapable company to take over responsibility for Iresa's customer accounts.

What a relief!

What a relief that Ofgem have finally pulled the plug on this company. Having had appalling service from them, my scathing review here some months ago got their "trustpilot" team to respond, but it did not do much. I could not even get a reliable bill from them so I cancelled my DD and I owe them so I do not have to worry about getting a refund! This is not a recommended tactic, but gives a comfortable feeling. If Octopus are good enough to be suggested by Ofgem, does that mean anything? If not, I will be away to someone else. The moral would appear to be to make sure that your DD payments are always a little smaller than your consumption costs. Just a little though so you do not end up with a huge final bill. Bring back SWEB and Co please!

I am an Iresa customer almost since…

I am an Iresa customer almost since they started trading and have nothing but praise for their website.
Did you know that although Iresa are in Administration, they are offering a new 12 month contract on their website. The contract starts on Aug 6th and runs for 12 months and at the same rate as the old contract.
Interested anyone?

Thank heavens for the end of Iresa

Whilst I am sorry for the staff who have lost their jobs I am overjoyed by the end of this shambles of a Company. They were the suppliers when I bought my house but in over 11 months they prevented me switching the gas supply by having the wrong postcode on the national database, by applying payments to the electricity account, which had already been switched but they never closed it and by using estimates that meant that the account was showing as being in debit when it wasn't.

Add to that a determination to ignore all emails and a phone waiting list that was often near 100 people long and it is impossible to imagine how any company could be more incompetent or less suitable to have a licence to provide energy. I hope that the directors are all banned from being allowed to hold directorships ever again in this country.

Should have been shut down long ago

Today, 2nd August, I get a notification by email of my final gas and electric bill from Iresa being ready. I switched back in April. They went and changed all my gas bills going back to November 2016 when I first switched to them. Lowering the gas start reading, so charging me more for gas. They have never manged to give me a correct gas bill since I joined them. Very simple. I give you the gas and electric readings every month, you give me a bill. To hard for even for Iresa. Support, what support ? Just having to waste more time having to try and sort out problems they created.

Iresa is dead! Hooray!

So glad these scammers have gone! I can't believe how many people have suddenly appeared on this site saying they were marvellous and 'so cheap'. Iresa quoted me £60 a month for dual fuel (I have a big wood stove and I'm not always at home). Then when I signed up it suddenly became £90! They completely ignored my attempts at contact. When I was £400 in credit and still being ignored I got the Ombudsman to fight my battle for me. I then had to use him again when I left, as again they kept back what they owed me. I am now with Avro, who charge me £38 a month and answer queries promptly. Iresa certainly weren't cheap for me. Cheap, rubbishy quality, maybe. Cheap, no.

Ofgem have chosen octopus?

This morning I have received an email from Octopus stating my energy supply will now be provided by Octopus.
Did a quick search on Uswitch and the pricing came up at no 34 an extra £78 a year on my electric bill compared to Iresa.
Cant even see them on comparethemarket pricing.
Wow!
Will be moving away as quickly as possible.
Numerous known providers are considerably cheaper?

Good riddance

Sooooo glad I kept on at them for the last 4 months after deciding to change supplier because they were uncontactable. After loads of unanswered emails and calls I involved the CAB and managed to get my final bill and refund of credit paid back 2 weeks ago. This company was a disgrace and I only hope no one is left out of pocket. They should have had the plug pulled months ago. Good luck everyone with whoever takes over and I hope you get everything you are due!

Must be eligible for worst service ever award

Changed to Iresa late 2017 worst mistake of my life. Still not got a working account. Don’t take DDs and keep telling me I’m in credit don’t accept meter reading etc etc take ages to answer phone and fob you off. Reckon I owe them £800 now at least. No wonder they’ve gone bust

SO OFGEM are going to find us a new…

FOLLOW-UP
I have NOW (02/08/18) received an email from my new (to be) energy supplier...OCTOPUS.

Shouldn't we simply have a SINGLE STATE run (so a "not for profit") energy company?
No MEGGA Executive salaries, No Multi Million pound bonuses, No perks, No dividends for shareholders, as we would ALL be "shareholders" receiving our "dividends" via a FAIR PRICE...just ONE PRICE (price per unit) and one (if needed) daily standing charge.
=================================================

Original post.
SO OFGEM are going to find us a new energy supplier? The following is cut from an email sent to me from IRESA.
Iresa Limited will be ceasing to trade
"Ofgem's advice is not to switch, but to sit tight and wait until the new supplier has been appointed"

Look around fer a new supplier/deal, but sit tight eh?, it should be interesting to see who OFGEM favours don't you think...Millions of pounds worth of business JUST waiting to be in effect GIVEN away.

I've often thought that certain "services" should be under the control of government, the services that are essential to any country, our "Life's blood" so to speak.
Water
Electricity
Gas
Transport (Trains, Buses Airports) and most certainly NOT in the hands of ANY country not considered our friend.

The very idea that we would let CHINA build a Nuclear power plant is MENTAL
"The state-owned China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) has applied for permission to build a plant in Bradwell, Essex, which would be its first in a western country"

What next? a RUSSIAN weap er sorry "Pharmaceuticals" plant?.

Iresa bust and owe me money!

Left Iresa in April 2018 after receiving emails saying they would take large sums of money, even after agreeing a repayment plan. Paid off balance in full in March then initiated switch.

Only just had final bill on 20/07 and told I'm due a refund which cannot yet be paid due to system error.

Surprise! they have now ceased trading and where is my refund???

Can no longer access online account to view bills/support tickets...

What do I do now???

Shame iresa have closed down, I never had any trouble with them, been with them for 12 months and only last week went into another contract with them, good cheap fuel prices, see what energy supplier I will end up with now, good luck to all that worked for iresa.
