Italian Roots Research is a professional genealogy service based in Milan, Italy, specialising in Italian family history research, archival research and the retrieval of historical records throughout Italy. I help clients from around the world discover their Italian ancestry, reconstruct family histories and locate original civil, parish and archival records connected to their ancestors. My services include genealogical research, family tree reconstruction, civil registration research, parish and diocesan archive research, historical document retrieval, transcription and interpretation of Italian records, and assistance with obtaining certificates and archival documents from Italian municipalities and other institutions. Research can involve civil registers, parish records, diocesan archives, state archives, military records, historical censuses, notarial and land records, depending on the location, period and objectives of each project. Each research project is approached individually. Before beginning, I assess the available information, identify the most appropriate archives and sources, and define a research strategy based on the client's goals. When required, I also conduct research in person in archives, parishes and local institutions across Italy. My aim is not simply to collect names and dates, but to reconstruct the history of a family through documentary evidence, providing clients with clear explanations of the sources consulted and the discoveries made.
