DO NOT BOOK WITH ITALIANWAY! THEY ARE AWFUL!
- No hot water
- No duvets - when we realised we contacted customer service, they said someone would come to bring but the next day, they were too busy - so now we must sleep in the cold with no blankets?
- Dirty floors, shower and tables
- Useless customer service
- Cannot open curtains because the curtain rails will fall off
Rather stay anywhere else. I would not recommend ItalianWay to my worst enemy.
The worst. Stayed in Milan the last days in an appartment rented out by Italianway.
1. Check-in was 30 min by subway from the appartment. They gave me the wrong keys, so had to wait for a guy to being me the right keys.
2. Appartment was smelly and not properly cleaned (toilet used, not flushed, open shampoo bottles,…).
3. No warm water - ice-cold showers every morning (not even lukewarm).
4. A/C broken in an appartment pointing to southeast. The heat was unbearable, open windows resulted in mosquito-invasion.
5. Italianway has not responded to all of this.
If I could rate MINUS 10 I would. booked Coldi Lana, 3.
- did not notice no AC in the unit- fine my fault; However, this place should NEVER be open for booking in the summer! the average temperature inside is 35 degrees celsius! they gave us 2 ridiculous mini fans which did nothing; one floor fan; IT IS STIFLING HOT!! ALSO THE @#$% WATER HEATER DOES NOT WORK, SO SHOWERS ARE ICE COLD. Their reply: "send us a video"! For whatever reason, they did not send anyone to repair it! THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS. DO NOT RENT ANYTHING FROM THEM! 1600 euro for 4 days - pure robbery - the place is disgusting! I will be filing a complaint with Mariott. These people have no respect for customers.
We rented an appartment in Milan during our vacation. There was a heatwave at the time and we ordered the apparent with AC, when we arrived the AC didn't work and there was 30°c in the appartment all night. We found blood stains on the floors, walls and plates and the appartment was clearly not cleaned. We had also asked to use a pullout couch in the appartment when we booked and when we came there it had no sheets on or anything. This is not a dependable company.
I rented my apartment through Italianway via Spotahome in Milan for my studies. According to the reviews I was very afraid before hand, but I must say that it has been all super good. Professional customer service and as soon as we complained about something they actually fixed it very fast. No hidden payments from Italianway's side. My accomodation was very clean and fresh. Got the deposit back quickly after my stay.
Apartment was old and dirty. The bed was also old and I barely slept. I asked to change it and they proposed me to change apartment but I was in Milan for job related reasons and I couldn’t move to a new place. Also, I left my Apple charger there and 4 hours after leaving the apartment I called them. The charger was never found and they refuse to pay back.
I unfortunately booked a 4-night stay with an AirBNB hosted by Italianway. First and foremost the apartment was smelly and moldy and caused my allergies to act up during my entire trip. There is nothing like touring around Italy with a stuffy nose and a pocket full of tissues. But I digress.
Entering the kitchen to pour myself a drink I pulled out one of the several heavily soiled glasses that was provided in the cabinet and proceeded to clean it. After rinsing out the glass I realized there were no paper towels provided to aid in drying. No big deal. I’ll just shake as much of the water out of the glass as I can. Finally I head to the freezer to get some…wait, what’s this? No ice or ice cube trays. I contact Italianway and they politely inform me that they do not provide ice cube trays in any of their AirBNBs. Such an interesting and inconvenient policy for someone who wishes to unwind from a day of traveling with an ice-cold beverage. They then coyly tell me that if I need anything else from them all I need to do is simply ask. Great.
Warm drink in hand I head to my next task which is to utilize the washing machine to clean my clothes from the prior week’s stay in Iceland. As I load the machine I realize there is not a drop or even an empty container of laundry detergent. Italianway said do not hesitate to contact them so I do. They politely tell me that they do not provide detergent in any of their AirBNBs. I did not experience any of these inconveniences in my AirBNBs in Iceland or the United States. Perhaps this is the Italian Way.
As I google the “nearest” grocery store to buy supplies that should have been supplied by Italianway I realize that there are none close to the center of Milan. The price you pay for a location near Milan’s sacred Duomo I guess. As I get ready to head out to furnish Italianway’s AirBNB for them I head to the bathroom to blow my newly stuffy nose and realize there is not enough toilet paper for 2 adults with a 4 night stay ahead of them. I contact Italianway already knowing what they will say. We will not supply anymore toilet paper for the remainder of your stay but please do not hesitate to contact us with anymore requests for us to deny.
Dear Italianway, thank you for the worst most inconvenient stay I have ever had at an AirBNB. For the future you should raise the price of your AirBNB to whatever you see fit for providing your tenants with a mold free apartment, clean glasses, paper towels, ice cube trays, laundry detergent, and of course toilet paper. Or I can get you in contact with any of the other AirBNB hosts I had during my trip and you can ask them for advice. Let me know and thank you for politely providing nothing.
We had a good experience until checkout. We spent almost an hour checking out with Italianway agent, all was ok, we signed the checkout document and all was fine. We then get an email a month later saying they will keep the deposit because of a scratch supposedly found on the TV. This was not there when we checked in nor when we checked out (with them present checking all the house in detail room b y room).
I called their support line. They refuse to escalate, refuse to see me in person (because their office is not for clients as their rep told me..) and refused even to pass my a call to a supervisor.
Very dissapointing ending and we will have to pursue legal action because of their incompetence checking out.
I am student I booked a apartment from Italianway website before move in we paid deposit as well as cleaning fee after move in there was some issues which already been informed to them and some mold issue where happen during the stay that also informed to owner and Italian way no action will taken by there end now when they have to give us our deposit back Italian way is charing us almost all the deposit amount for no reason.
Worst experience ever! WE GOT ROBBED on the day we arrived! After checking in we went for a walk and someone broke into the apartment, stole our bags, wallets and cash! The apartments do not have security doors, instead they have a very cheap looking and apparently very easy to violate doors. The property did not help at all the find us another accommodation to spend the night, they basically left us on the street and had to contact booking to get us a hotel after spending 3 hours on the street! Booking refunded the amount we paid for the reservation but Italianway refuses to compensate us for the personal items that have been stolen claiming that on the check in agreement we have accepted the policies and that they are not responsible in case of theft inside their property white according to civil law they are! Stay away! Worst expierence ever
Review: Italianway apartments- Sabotino 19 Milano.
Not recommended.
The apartment is in need of modernisation. Cleaning: insufficient. Although expensive, it lacks basic facilities.
The oven doesn’t work, the bathroom smells, the WC shows permanent brown stains, the duvet doesn’t have a cover and doesn’t look clean, there aren’t cleaning products available, no Manuals with instructions for the washing machine, dishwasher, induction cooker.
Hoover doesn’t work
No hot water from the kitchen’s tap.
No toaster, although advertised.
Customer Service offered to move to
a different apartment. Also, they sent the cleaning company for an extra cleaning, which was useful. However, because their description of the property doesn’t correspond to its real conditions, I wouldn’t trust this agency for future stays.
Company can improve by asking the owners to repair and modernise the property before letting it out at expensive rates. Quite shameful!
It is unbelievable how companies like this still allowed to operate… When I ordered and paid on Booking.com there were no information about "rules" and when payment gone trough I received about three forms to enter all my details including citizenship, gender, passport number, home address etc. There was a form that they asked you to sign for all home equipment damages with prices... I haven't even been in the apartment and seen them items for which I was asked to sign. I told them that I don't want to fill any forms or sign for and then they said that these are the rules. And told me it is very important to bring my credit cart with me to the apartment on check in.. All this sounded suspicious to me. They took all details of my credit card even the 3 digit CVV number (that they can deduct scam money fast) I lived there for 4 weeks, had a lot of electrical problems, had to go downstairs and restore power by myself every time I turn on washing machine or dishwasher. After i check out, after 4 days they send me a invoice stating i have to pay 150 for damage.. And 6 euro for tourist tax.. Tourist tax in that zone in Bologna is max 5 days at the rate of 4 euro so is 20 euro and i paid that tax the first day i checked in and they only accepted cash (suspicious)... I told them that i know that tax is payed only once, why are you charging me 6 euro again? and suddenly they forgot about the tax. So.. Going further with the damages, they fabricated a case with broken table, I asked for the proof and they sent me an email with whats app images with clearly visible edited dates with the same seconds on end of pics title, I do not know what happened for 4 days when i left the apartment, why I wasnt informed about table damage the same day i checked out as we spoke many times about electrical problems and cleaning on whatsapp and had each other contacts during the stay. So this is an audacious false accusation as I did not damage anything during my stay.. If I did i would definitely tell them what i did and pay for the damage as this was my business trip with my corporate account linked to it.. I received an invoice of 176 euro detailing damages and extra additional cleaning fee, (Cleaning fee of 80 euro is included in price) but "as i stayed there several weeks they gave me a discount and only charged my credit card 150 euro" I did not agreed to the damage, I did not authorize the deduction. But i think in them so many forms I signed there probably was a section saying we will take money whenever we want form your card... What a Lowlife scammer company, I cannot believe and definitely don’t recommend it to nobody as you can see the reviews here about these scammers...
I will be brief but detailed:
1. we are talking about budgets greater than EUR1000, 20 minutes from Milan, I see the apartment on a third-party service that charges 1 month forward, and I book;
2. they send me a contract to sign plus the deposit to pay BEFORE check-in, which isn't usually done for short rentals;
3. taking into account that all my previous experiences with short rentals have gone well on such third party sites, I decide ignore it and do what they ask;
4. the day of check-in the guy that delivers the keys arrives late, but he comes from the appartment itself: all sweaty because he had tried to "clean" just before our arrival, I let you imagine the smell;
5. since my only wish at that moment is that this "source of smell" goes away as soon as possible, I take the keys from him and once he leaves, I open the shutters and all, the apartment is a hygienic disaster: hair everywhere in the bathroom, black sedimentation in the shower, dust in the rooms, etc., but these "services" are included somewhere, and in the bedroom there is a sign that reads "SANITIZED according to regulations etc ...";
6. since it was supposed to be a 4 month stay I say, we will do a cleaning ourselves or we will call the agency, in the meantime shopping for cleaning solutions;
7. Towards evening I realize that the entire wall in the bedroom behind the wardrobe is full with mold, and sleeping in it with the balcony door closed means getting poisoned, also given the smells;
8. since this is a limit, I point it out and they say they think about it but nothing happens, I withdraw the contract but I still have to follow it and be there for 1 month, to sleep with the door open, etc. then I leave after only 1 month in another apartment inside Milan;
9. the adventure does not end there, because "Italian UEEY" is not even able to follow its own contractual clauses: after 30 days from the checkout date, the deposit money is not yet in my bank account.
I warned this will be a problem. This review is written on day 31.
DO NOT STAY WITH ITALIANWAY. They are controlling the AC remotely, it "malfunctions" at night with an error on the console. No amount of button pushing will resolve the "error," and to add insult to injury, you get to stare at a blinking light piercing the darkness while you sweat in an unbearable temperature. We opened a window in an desperate attempt to sleep and were bitten head to toe by mosquitos. The "error" resolves itself in the morning. They are trying to save money by disabling the AC at night. What a miserable experience. Never again.
Exceptional poor costumer service. Felt tricked to pay double city tax with what I experienced as treats of fines. They do not respond to emails, could not find our reservation in the system and has been very defensive in the dialogue. The apartment had malfunctioning electricity, aircon that took repairing for two days, a stove that almost did not work and a dishwasher that wasn’t there as promised.
Host charged us €50 for late check in . This was not written in the booking details before we book. They sent us message later indicating the charge. The booking was non- refundable so we are trapped to pay. When. We complained to manual for Italian way he was very rude and non respectable and snatched the key from my hand and said if you do not pay then come tomorrow to check in !! He asked to pay in cash but we refused and asked for receipt to prove the payment. We had no way except to pay as it was 1 am and we will not find accommodative at that time. I didn’t see any accommodation in my life l. Booking please confided this as official complaint for unclear information about late check in and rudeness of the host compnay. Do not use them , they have zero respect to customers
Do NOT use this company. They will not help you if there is a problem. They will not respond to emails. They will cut you off if you call (repeatedly, this was no accident, this was policy). I sadly rented a property from them only to find it was not as advertised. They did not resolve the issues I had, did not admit fault, did not offer any kind of apology or compensation. Miserable experience. Avoid, there are plenty of other options.
Be aware, this apartment is gloomy (all the windows have fixed curtains that cannot be open, it is situated on the first floor, facing north, no natural light at all), not well taken care of, worned down and not clean (hairs in the bathroom, kitchen fridge dirty, etc...) The water temperature was not functioning so we were unable to take a shower. I called the customer service and I spoke to a very rude man who didn't help out at all. I had booked through booking who didn't help out at all. I never got refunded for the 1 night (We didn't even sleep there in the end and had to go to a nearby hotel)
