Scam company

This company is a scam - they bill you monthly via your phone bill without your consent through a pop-up ad. It happened to me in January 2018. I managed to get a refund from them after several calls to a random US call center where they claimed to know nothing about J1 Media, then finally got an email to contact them with (I used contact at j1media.net, but it may be quicker to email David Flood directly on david at j1media.net). I received a reply from David Flood (the sole person associated with the company) after I threatened to go to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) which did the trick and I was refunded via the Post Office payout system (conveniently anonymous). I know other people have had success via a small claims court.

Robbery, lies, and refusal to return money.

As with another review - J1 Media have taken 270 pounds of my money and are yet to pay it back 4 weeks after first contact to query the 'subscription'. They subscribed my mobile phone without my permission through a link on 3rd party website. When contacting customer services they tell you lies, refer you to someone else and generally give you the run around. They do NOT sort out the problem, a response from DAVID FLOOD (who according to other reviewer - owns the company based in Gloucester Road London) states that the subscription that you did not subscribe to has now stopped! There is no response about the money he has taken. Several emails and numerous expensive calls where 'staff' put the phone down on you and still no refund. Today I was offered £18 before the woman terminated my call. I have given him several opportunities to refund my money but he has yet to do so. I have contacted the PSA who I have been advised will look into this for me. Next week I will start the process of dragging this through the small claims court to reclaim my money and will pursue recovery of all costs incurred as well as this is now a matter of principle. DAVID FLOOD I will not rest until you have returned my money.
