***UPDATE 1/7/2026: Not only was the gift I ordered delivered after Christmas, Jackson & Perkins sent the wrong item (poinsettia not anthurium) and it was in very poor condition upon arrival. That said, the team at Jackson and Perkins has gone out of their way to correct the situation. They contacted me personally, they gave me a fast and full refund for my original order and they sent complimentary anthurium as I had ordered to my friend and then one to me to thank us for our patience. I have upgraded my review to three star: one star for the absolute failure on my Christmas gift order, but five stars for the expedient and corrective customer service. I am willing to give them a try again in the future.***
Initial review (one star): I placed a gift order online Friday, 12/19, and had every indication at that time that my gift would be delivered by Christmas. I just received tracking information stating the order won’t arrive until Monday, 12/29. I’m very disappointed and would not have purchased this item through Jackson & Perkins had I known it would be arriving after Christmas. Also, Jackson & Perkins did not let me know it was going to be late - I was only made aware by checking the UPS order tracking.
Our family has previously purchased plants from this company with great satisfaction, but this time they really let us down.

Disappointed in the “speed” with which my purchase was processed and communication around that. First time ordering from Jackson and Perkins. I ordered an e-gift card on 12/11/2025 at 11:15am. Never got a confirmation email, nor notification from my bank that my card was charged so I assumed it didn’t go through. I found a different company to purchase a gift card from and received immediate confirmation via email and bank. Fast forward to 12/12/2025 at 8:45am when I got notification of my card being charged for the J&P gift card. About 15 minutes later, I received two emails confirming the order and providing the gift card. I tried to cancel my order on-line and via phone. I was told that they couldn’t cancel an order that had already shipped. With all of the technology today, one would think that J&P could process and communicate about orders much more efficiently.

Gwen to the rescue! Very pleased with the outcome, she redeemed the company and has my loyalty as a J&P customer. Well done, Gwen!

I pre ordered two miniature Christmas trees for some elderly relatives, I have done this for the last 10 years and they enjoy them so much. My CC was compromised and I received an email from J&P to put in my new cc number or my order would be cancelled. I did as asked and their system generated a duplicate order. They shipped duplicate orders and when contacted and advised they refused to refund the duplicate order. After 10 years of loyalty this is what you get from Jackson and Perkins. Congratulations you just lost a repeat customer.

Bought 3 Bare root roses from them. One sprouted but the other two stayed dormant. Emailed Jackson & Perkins, they worked with me to resolve the issue and issued a credit for the dormant plants.

I have planted many rose bushes. When my rose was delivered I was concerned because the roots appeared dead. They were all very thin, dry and brittle. However, their website claimed this was normal due to dormancy. I followed the instructions. I soaked the roots, planted it per the instructions, and pruned it back. It has been in the ground for three weeks with zero new growth. I recently ordered two rose bushes from Heirloom Roses and put them in the ground five days ago. Upon arrival the roots appeared healthy and they looked like all of the other dozen rose bushes I have planted with the exception of the one I ordered from Jackson & Perkins. They've been in the ground for five days and I already see new growth. My other rose bushes that have been in the ground for years already have two feet of new growth this year. The only one not growing is the one from Jackson & Perkins. I have emailed them and have yet to hear a reply. I would skip this company at all costs. Buy your roses from Heirloom Roses or Proven Winners. I have ordered several roses and other plants from them and I have never been let down.

They sent 2 dead plants and sent 2 damaged plants. Terrible place. I definitely do Not recommend and will never order from them again low reviews are well deserved

The worst. I ordered 4 roses and 2 of them, I was notified, just before planting time, were unavailable. Very slow communication, they don't take calls during the weekend, and I am OVER IT.

The canna lily bulbs from Jackson and Perkins arrived in a dehydrated state, along with very dry soil. I purchased five different bulbs and planted them on the second day, using organic plant food and soil. I made sure to water them daily and placed them in an area with enough sunlight. However, despite my efforts, a month has passed and none of the bulbs have sprouted. In contrast, I also received canna lily bulbs from a competitor called Horn, which were planted in a separate planter using the same ingredients and method. These bulbs were thriving with large leaves And when they came in their bugs were very large and the soil was moist. And I only ordered three bulbs for a total of where is Jackson and per th I end up spending a little at $100 for 5 and they were tiny . I found it strange that Jackson and Perkins' bulbs showed no signs of growth, while Horn's had already developed multiple leaves. I reached out to Jackson and Perkins' representatives for assistance, as their products are supposed to come with a warranty. I even tried cancelling my order due to the delay, but but they end up sending me the day after I canceled the order tracking on the bulbs anyway because I guess I canceled it so they wanted to rush and get it out to me so I had no choice but to keep it so in spite of that I just end up having to plant them and still take on the ones that I ordered from horn which I'm glad that I did order the ones from horn So with Horn's product through Amazon Both sets of bulbs were planted at the same time, but only Horn's grew successfully. I contacted Jackson and Perkins for help, but was told to email them with pictures. It has been a few days and I have yet to receive a response from them. At this point, I have given up on their products and caution others to do their research before purchasing from this company. In the future, I will look for other options and turn to Horn on Amazon or their website instead for canna lilies.

We placed a $982.20 order from Jackson & Perkins in January for eighteen roses. After two months, we hadn't received a notice that our order had shipped, so we called. They assured us that the order would be going out within the week. After a month, we still had not received the order, so we called again. We were assured a second time that the order would be shipped out within the week. However, after another month, we still had not received the order. Now it is almost May, and we still have not received the order, so we called them again! This time, we were told that the quality of their roses was not up to their standards to ship them out. We asked when they might be ready to be shipped out, and they told us they did not know. As a result, we decided to cancel the entire order and shop elsewhere for our roses. We will never use Jackson & Perkins ever again. They are unreliable and liars!

It’s a horrible place to shop. I ordered some roses in February and was waiting for their delivery which never happened according to their delivery calendar. I am in zone7, I called and was told that bare roots roses won’t deliver until mid to late May. Do they really know when should plants to be planted??? Luckily I was able to cancel all of my orders. I’m guessing that they take orders from everyone then purchase from elsewhere and resell with markups. If they can’t secure the inventory the you don’t get delivery. What a horrible business model they created! Plants require weather and temperature! If we gardeners missed the window then we will have to wait for another year. I am hoping that everybody should know about this fraud-like business.

This company used to be top notch. I trusted them with a large purchase this year. The packaging was damaged and the plants inside the box are beyond pathetic. They are dry, damaged and it looks like a box of trash! The quality of this company has gone down the tubes. I bought healthier plants at Walmart for goodness sake. I will be requesting a full refund.

Email responses to problems have been lukewarm to say the least. (I already knew the roses had a fungal infection. To tell me "use a fungicide" was a waste of everyone's time.) Phone conversations have been both helpful and satisfactory as regards problems with ORDERS. However, the MOST helpful was the horticulturalist, who was very hard to contact, but THE MOST helpful in the long run. So, if you have a question or problem, bypass the gauntlet of useless phone tree connections, and insist of talking with a professional...

Scammers. Ordered on jan 24th and had to call to find out my order was cancelled. Now it’s too late to plant autumn damask roses

As it seems Jackson and Perkins does not feel it necessary to follow up on complaints in a timely manner, I am simply posting factual feedback warning others of this.
Being charged over $30 for such a small dinky rose that came to me looking like it may not live long enough to even get planted is ridiculous. Called and asked to submit pictures by email, which I did. Received a reply saying helping customers, will get with me soon. Have heard nothing. Money wasted in my opinion.
I can assure you I will never buy from Jackson and Perkins company or any companies they are affiliated with, in the future.
Very displeased,

I ordered 6 fairy roses when they were $20 off last month. Today I received the roses (I live south of Atlanta). They were very well packaged and look healthy.

Avoid this scam! I have used J&P many times in the past , but what have they become now? A scam operation, I tried to buy roses on sale and I was told by customer service to just buy them and then phone customer service. Don’t waste your Time . Just go to Edmunds no drama buying roses there. How far J&P have fallen .
Gwen this is a perfect example of how far you have fallen; j&p is a bait and switch organization now. Blasting all your customers with so many emails a week and also using Park Seed uninvited. So I’m supposed to email you so you can make things right , what hubris.
Just do it Right the first time .

I canceled an order I found on my checking account was told it was canceled and then the next week boxes started arriving. I have tried several times to find out how to get these plants back but can’t get a straight answer or a shipping label. I was told they were ordered in July and it is Oct I had this cancelled and should not have to pay shipping since it’s their mistake. I am shocked that this well known company is so hard to work with and will never use them. Totally shock now I am waiting for a return call. Really disappointed in POOR customer service.

I ordered 5 roses from Jackson & Perkins. Three arrived with some dead or dying leaves (20% maybe) but the plants are alive and hopefully will rebound and grow well. Two arrived dead. I am an expert gardener with over 40 years of experience. I order online quite often.
I know dead plants when I see them. I communicated with J & P about the dead plants and here is the response I received (they will record this concenr in their records while I am left with 2 dead roses):
"Order #WEBJP5845880
Thank you for contacting us!
Normally by this time of the year, some plants begin looking poor in appearance, as they start the fall decay-dieback process. If the crowns and roots look alive, then they would still be viable plants. Next season's plants will be growing out from the crowns and roots.
On my end, I'll note that you contacted us regarding their arrival condition in your order history."
THIS IS NOT the Jackson & Perkins I have ordered and received quality roses from in the past. Will not order from them again.

If you want stumps to arrive all mildewy and dead, order from this company. If you want drift roses that never fully develop and are very sparse, order from this company. If to want to pay $50 for a rose that arrives as tiny as could be, order from this company. They will apologize, ask you to send a photo, and claim that it's still green and will grow. Don't depend on that. Very, very disappointed each time I ordered from this company.
As expected, after I wrote my review, the company responded with “I’m sorry”, as they do with everyone’s review, asked me to “send photos”, which I already did, and asked me to “write” to them, which I already did - with no satisfaction, except to state “The plant is green, so we are leaving it at that”. Poor customer service!
