Good products when you get them. Unfortunately their shipping in haphazard at best. Finally alerter offering fruit bushes some three months ago I was told today it would be another three weeks before... See more

I reviewed this company on their website but I see they didn't post it.
I purchased an Enchanted peace hybrid roses, it is beautiful, it said it has about 35-38 petals, but only has about 25 petals, says it is a double bloom, it is NOT a double bloom, and said it has a strong to moderate fragrance and it DOES NOT have a FRAGRANCE. Advertising for this rose is not accurate. They charge so much and it is not what you receive.
I am a returning customer and I was not happy to receive something different than what they claim.
I looked them up on BBB saw they not a credited business, also said they are out of business, as well as many other things.
I expected better from this company.
Bought several roses last spring. Two climbing roses in pots survived the winter and took off this spring. 6 roses in ground struggled the entire season last year, had some growth, overwintered and show no signs of life this spring. Contacted them about this and they said they said not covered. They didn't try to make anything right, store credit..nothing. I told them I will not be purchasing anything with them going forward and just buy from companies I've done and doing business with who have a 1 year guarantee. Overwintering is the test for new plants. A lot of online garden centers understand this. Jackson and Perkins does not.
Wrong shipped plants. Don’t expect the plants you bought to be what you get.
Absolutely horrible.
We spent $547 with them, I grew up with Jackson&Perkin roses lining my yard. I was so excited to finally have some of my own.
Once the plants bloomed we discovered over HALF of the items we bought were wrong. We emailed customer service and advised our disappointment; examples:
- white peonies bloomed instead of pink sorbets
- a yellow rose bloomed instead of lavender
- a white rose bloomed instead of the Malibu
- yellow and purple iris bloomed instead of dark purple
Customer service said it wasn’t their issue since the guarantee had passed…but flowers take time to bloom how was I to know what color they’d be?! It’s been over a year and the flowers have either died or are still blooming the wrong colors.
Dreams shattered and will never ever use them again. I asked to be removed from catalogs, shocked at how they treat customers
This company is horrible. Avoid at all cost. Plants are nothing like what they show. Reviews are filtered by company. Jackson Perkins is nothing of what it used to be. This company is now an unethical operation.
AVOID.
i was so excited to get this package then so disappointed in what showed up.
The rose as Black Spot Disease and the hydrangea is a cutting in a 4 inch pot.
I paid $29.95 for the Hydrangea and $44.95 for the rose and $22.00 for shipping. A complete waste of money.
UPDATE: THEY FULL REFUNDED MY $
Ordered three varieties of hostas and an orchid frost ground cover - two of the four plants arrived in acceptable condition, if overpriced for the size. Immediately reached out to customer service with photos and was told that the plants have a 90 day guarantee so to follow up with them later. First and LAST time I patron this site. Back to thetreecenter.com for me - not sure why I didn’t just stick with them, I’ve always been very pleased with their plants.
Their customer service was horrible! I received what was supposed to grow into a flowering Amaryllis but it only sprouted some ugly long leaves. I sent pictures to the company in hopes they would replace it but they said, “Unless you have the receipt…”. It was a gift and I have all their packaging as proof that it was from them with all pictures but they offered NOTHING.
Experienced gardener. Don't buy their bare root roses online they don't grow or survive.
One of eight survived. Return policy is not 1 year but 90 days per their customer service email. Makes purchases too risky. I have many roses thriving but not the ones purchased from them.
Over priced, and rose died after 7 months.. was beautiful until that point and had a 6 month guarantee..go figure..don't waste your money!
Like all the below experiences. Mine has been the same.
1. Immediate confirmation.
2. Take the money
3. Make some claim of date that J&K will ship which I am not supposed to know.
The standard response of the shipment is prepared but not yet shipped. Why because their horticulturist are waiting for stars to align.

I don't like being dictated to about when my roses are going to show up. I have a greenhouse. March is almost over. I also work closely with Hocking Tech graduates who are Horticulturalists and Arborists. Yet I am being TOLD I can't have my purchased rose before "their folks" are ready to send it out. That is garbage. I buy something, you should be transparent upfront that a person has to wait. I find it funny a company who lives at least one zone lower than me is telling me, based on some arbitrary chart that was updated this year to reflect global warming changes that I am not worthy of getting my roses. The date listed is arbitrary as I have reached out NUMEROUS times to obtain delivery in the last month... they sent one, but the other I am not to be trusted with. Edmunds or local for 1/4 the price is where I go from now on considering I need about 50 more rose bushes. Way to lose future sales.
I ordered some amaryllis and was tol d NOT to use a Post Office box in address....our post office ONLY delivers to PO boxes ...Jackson and Perkins sent bulbs to UPS sure post and they went to the Post Office and got returned.....They should have just used UPS .I COMPLAINED TWICE AND HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THEM...I AM OUT A LOT OF MONEY ...AND I CAN NOT ORDER FROM THEM again FOR FEAR THEY WILL SEND by UPS sure post.

I made an order in July that was suppose to be shipped in September. Well, I just called since it is October and was told that my payment method was declined. I paid through PayPal which is tied to my checking account. Now everything has been canceled. All they had to do was pick up the phone and call me. The order was over $100. They say that they emailed me but I did not receive an email. I just think that they get so many orders that they just don’t care about one small order. I am finished shopping with them. Buyer beware!

after a conversation with a CS rep, I ordered 4 climbing roses and 5 Floribunda roses. 3 of the Floribundas did not do well. I called and they replaced them. What they replaced them with is not the same as the original. The climbing roses are not climbing roses at all. As a rose novice, I trusted CS to provide accurate information. I sent and email and was hoping for some grace and all I received was an email with the satisfaction guarantee. I would be willing to split the cost however, they are not interested in helping me out. Buy local - this company is just bad

Please do not waste your time or money ordering plants from this company. Twice I have ordered roses from this company and they came almost dead with mold growing on them. Then I decided that I would order some "Frost Proof" Gardenias that were on sale as a "3rd strike you are out" chance. That was 15 days ago with no shipping date, delivery date or status update. This morning I sent an email requesting a status update and if there are no longer any plants in inventory, I would like a refund. I received a speedy reply stating "_As our Spring Season has ended, we have stopped shipping living goods at the moment._".
It appears that J&P put plants on sale with an implied in-stock inventory, did not fulfill the order, and then kept the money with a 'promise' to ship the order next spring. Sorry, that's not how business is supposed to work.
They are refusing to give me a refund.....so folks, please do not send your money to a company that may or may not send you your items. Total ripoff at this point.

From their website:
"Your Satisfaction is Always Guaranteed
We guarantee all Jackson & Perkins plant products to be high quality, true to type, shipped properly, and to perform as advertised. If your plant has received our recommended care and doesn't perform to your satisfaction, notify us and we will replace it free of charge or provide the cost of the product as credit toward a future purchase"
I bought several roses from this company. One does not bloom and is low quality.
I requested a refund on 10/10/22, and the company told me "no", and to follow their plant care advice instead. They said I needed to leave my rose alone for the winter and then follow their fertilizer instructions in the spring.
I followed the company's directions over the following months, and they did not work.
I contacted the company again at the beginning of the summer to say that their instructions failed to improve the quality of the rose plant I purchased, and they refused to replace of refund the item *again* because too much time had passed since the purchase.
That's unfair.
-I bought a guaranteed product.
-It wasn't quality.
-I requested a refund or replacement.
-They denied the request and sent me directions to use through the following year.
-I followed their directions.
-The plant is still not quality.
-And they're denying the refund because --I've passed a return time limit *only because I followed their instructions*.
If satisfaction guarantees matter to you, do not order products from this company.

DO NOT EVER BUY ROSES FROM THIS COMPANY!
A 90 day guarantee is not sufficient to see if your sickly looking shipment of roses is going to make it through the winter. I lost 4 0f 6 they sent me. A lousy Christmas present and I would discourage anyone from buying a gift card from them.

The plants were dead on arrival. JP says they guarantee their plants. It has been 2 1/2 months since I wrote to them many, many times. They do not respond in a timely manner. I had to pursue this refund constantly. The company says they do not work during the summer! Very bad experience. Do NOT buy from them and save yourself a lot of headaches.
There needs to be ZERO STARS! I purchased 3 roses. They were "guaranteed" One arrived rotten and moldy. The other 2 were good. Therefore the mold and death had to happen before they were packed (or it would have affected ALL the plants) i.e. they KNEW what they were sending me. I sent photos etc. Instead of a guarantee (by which most people mean refund) they offered me credit to shop there again... this seems fraudulent to me. I wish I had read the other reviews first. It seems their behavior is repetitive. I hope people will tweet, etc. the reality of this company to spread the warning beyond just trust pilot

We ordered 2 bare root roses. One died immediately after planting, the other still showed a bit of life. We called, they sent a replacement for the one that died. The replacement was black & moldy. We planted it anyway. It's alive but struggling. In the meantime, the 2nd one died. We called, they refunded that one, which we appreciate. Went to Portland Nursery & bought one. Personally I will not buy another bare root rose from J & P or anywhere else for that matter. I'll buy a healthy looking one in full bloom at a nursery.
