Immaculate Gold Watch case restoration
I damaged the (hollow) 18K gold watch case of a precious vintage chronograph I inherited from my late father. After enduring many knock-backs from uninterested repairers, Master Watchmaker Thomas Czibula referred me to Jacques Diodati of Jacques D Jewellers who kindly agreed to attempt a repair despite being unsure if this could be achieved. I was so happy to receive a call from Jacques only 2 weeks later advising ‘all done’ I could pick up my restored heirloom! Upon collection, I discovered the painstaking, long hours of work Jacques put into the repair. He showed me photos of the first and second failed repair attempts followed by a solution making the watch case stronger than its original manufacture. Jacques gave himself to the piece and performed a work of art. This was not a cold transaction rather a labour of love on my account given how special my father’s watch is to me. To top it all off, the work was completed at very reasonable cost. Jacques is a master jeweller of the highest calibre. A living artisan and a true, kind hearted gentleman.
