Re-joined the club a few months ago…

Re-joined the club a few months ago after 2 decades away and was hugely disappointed. The club magazine hasn't changed literally in many decades. Same multi page drivel about regional news, and other boring stuff as well as constant accounts of the sad passing of many members etc. From what I see there is little effort in attracting new young members suddenly able to afford cars previously out of their reach, zero effort on starter home tips for keeping these cars on the road on a budget like they used to via the wonderful Mr Dudmesh and others. Nothing on accepting the car market priced for such cars is crashing so it is bringing the cars thankfully back into the hands of real enthusiasts. I could go on. So sad. Being a member of this club feels like being a spectator at the dinner table at an OAP's home where they watch the monthly membership declining from the comfort of their over privileged (long over) working lives totally oblivious to the direction the club should take in adapting , generating new directions and remembering why they were set up in the first place, what for and for whom. Just my opinion, but if you want a vibrant proactive club then don't bother with this one unless you like cobwebs!
