Waste of time

Our solicitor paid jb leitch they have not paid e&m, poor service and obviously delaying payment so we cannot pay our ground rent on time. We had no communication from both solicitor or jbl that we owed any monies only found out when we tried to pay ground rent, we had been locked out of our account. We have sent a cheque to clear ground rent but it will probably be referred back to jbl for non payment no fault of our own they will just apply fees without your knowledge.

Update luckily managed to send our ground by cheque they confirm that no penalty would be added but will still not pay their client until Thursday imagine if we didn’t send payment for ground rent e&m jbl would apply more fees and penalties protect yourselves and cover every angle they don’t care cannot complete simple tasks one week to make a simple bank transfer I don’t think so.

Absolutely conniving unscrupulous…

Absolutely conniving unscrupulous unprofessional shill ambulance-chasing shakedown outfit.
Fully incorporated agent in the FirstPort cash conveyor belt.
I would urge anyone with cause to be reading this review to take them on.
Reported them to the legal ombudsman for indefensible practices and operating outside the law they purport to uphold.
Utterly reprehensible outfit who shouldn’t be allowed to, er, practise.

Blood suckers

Blood suckers! They lie! They cheat clients out of thousands of pounds. Stay well clear of this firm. We are checking to see if SRA can investigate this company and compensate us or barred them from business

A legal company to be avoided

I told them I am over 75 years old and making ends meet on my pension but they still charged me £303.00
in "legal fees" (one letter sent to myself) threatening another 3 to 5 thousand in fees if I did not pay a bill of
£419.00 which had already been settled 2 weeks prior.
They all should be totally ashamed and hopefully go out of bussines serving the public in this dreadful manner of fear mongering. Also they have a dreadful telephone manner. BEWARE and STEAR CLEAR.

Incredibly rude

Incredibly rude. While not a client, I regrettably had several telephone conversations with this business. Apart from one occasion, they spoke to me with rudeness and distain and when I was trying to obtain information they put the phone down on me; something I have never experienced with any other business. I will be reporting them to the Law Society for unprofessional conduct.

Absolutely vile attitude from the lady…

Absolutely vile attitude from the lady who claimed to be the manager who really needs to take a trip to a customer service course. They bully, mislead and absolutely lie about their practices and dare anyone ring to make enquiries and they insult and belittle you. What should have been a simple freehold purchase they turned into an equity release and wanted conveyance and solicitors to be instructed which would only increase their legal costs and delay the process. Completely incompetent and negligent. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Avoid like the plague!!

Communications

Such a shame that dealing with a legal firm that such a case happens. Upshot - letter was sent on April 3rd and reached me on 11/4 - I was told to sort it out with royal mail and hung up the phone, this was when I questioned why it was so late and that they need to sort that out, esp as the letter was demanding money by the 13/4 - money which had already been paid this week. I was so shocked at the attitude of the female I spoke to so utterly unprofessional. I called back to speak to someone Snr - no reply as of yet. Shocking.

Horrendous firm.

A truly horrendous firm. Not a shred of decency. 100% chancers and bullies. A property I own and the flat opposite were mis-numbered at land registry. A district judge signed a court order to allow us to get it amended. Fine. Despite knowing this, JB Leitch sough to evict my tenant and try to repossess my flat claiming they had the right number. They had already taken possession of the flat opposite (as they were supposed to) so they categorically knew they were in the wrong trying to repossess mine. Also, they didn't write to me with their intentions - and it was by pure fortune I happened to find out they intended to evict my tenant and basically steal my property. It went to court and I got the eviction quashed. Their barrister arrived 12 minutes late to the hearing and apologised to the judge, but not to me. Now, one of their paraplanners is telling me their client is facing costs due to this. I can see what's going to happen - chasing me for a debt I don't owe. It's bullying. It's harassment. It's absolutely unbelievable what this firm tries to get away with... and no doubt does get away with a lot of the time because innocent citizens can't afford to fight them or don't know which way to turn. I see from the other reviews I'm far from alone in my contempt for JB Leitch. I'm currently preparing to write to the local MP where this firm is based, as well as the press. An investigation is needed into their tactcis.

Truly dispicable company. They lie and they bully!

In my opinion this company should not be trading as lawyers. They lie, they bully, they threaten and they intimidate. They contacted my lender to claim monies that I was in dispute over. The lender paid them the monies (unwittingly) and JB Leitch refuted that they had ever received the monies and continued to send me demanding letters. Only when I provided them with evidence from the lender did they accept that the monies had actually been received. No apology, just a futher demand for other outstanding monies with a threat of seeking a CCJ if not paid within 7 days! Truly dispicable company. I've just calculated that they have extorted over £4000 from me in admin costs and legal fees alone in under 3 years!! I'm currently looking into a suitable solicitor to help me retrieve some of the monies. No matter what you pay them, they fail to offer advice, help, clarity or transparency. In these times of financial difficulty on the back of a global pandemic, increasing interest rates and cost of living rises, their rude and bullish approach is absolutely shameful. Avoid at all costs!

This so called company that should not…

This so called company that should not be trading as it lies, to saying I will get my money back with First Port of recovering my money. I don't how the staff are prepared to work for them, under lies they make. And the amount of hours they say there working. I have the ombudsman looking into this. hopeful to stop this company trading.

Not possible to give no stars

Not possible to give no stars.
Revolting company with equally revolting people. Problem you've got with them is a "computer says no" attitude.
Legal sharks that charge excessive fees for little work and bully and abuse people.

Horrendous conduct by this firm

Horrendous conduct by this firm

In effect they have wormed there way into several RMC to threaten freeholders who pay service charges and scare them into
Thinking they can take possession
Or your house under section 121 of the land act , doubling , tripling your bill to make a quick quid from
Downloading a document of google. Rent charges are not the same as service charges and legal advice ( which I have had to seek ) have confirmed the provisions they are making threats under do not apply to your deeds that make zero mention of rent charges and recourse to take control of your home. Further more when you have to call them as they refuse to acknowledge or answer your emails they tell you that you can’t complain , thankfully the SRA think otherwise , the staff should be scraping chewing gum
Of chairs that’s the calibre of them , unacceptable and it would seem incorrect in what they threaten
