Please read before considering buying a car from JMS Used Cars in Staines-upon-Thames.

I wanted to share my personal experience after purchasing a VW Sharan from JMS Used Cars in 2022.

At first, everything seemed fine, but over time we began experiencing a number of issues with the vehicle. The start-stop function stopped working, the driver-side auto-folding mirror failed, and we had to return the car to them several times, each time making around a 40-mile return trip.

On one occasion, we left the car with them for almost a week due to an EPC/electrical warning issue. When we collected it, the car initially appeared to be fine, but we later noticed very poor fuel consumption and excessive oil usage. We were having to top up around £50 of fuel every two weeks and refill the oil every couple of months.

Eventually, we decided to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic we trusted. We were advised that there were serious issues with the engine, including damage to the pistons, which was causing the car to burn excessive fuel and oil. We were also told there were issues with the spark plugs and ignition coils, and that the driver’s front wheel bracket was in a very poor condition and close to failing. The mechanic also expressed concern that the car may previously have been involved in an accident and repaired poorly.

The repairs cost us close to £2,000, which we paid because we liked the practicality of the car and hoped it would resolve the problems. Unfortunately, we later experienced further issues, including problems with the supercharger, which we were advised could cost another £1,000–£2,000 to repair. At that point, we made the difficult decision to sell the vehicle which sold for under £1,000 because of all the lights on the dashboard, we had bought it for £12,500.

Overall, this has been a very stressful and expensive experience over the past four years. Based on what we went through, I would personally urge anyone considering buying from this seller to be extremely cautious, carry out full independent checks, and have any vehicle inspected by a trusted mechanic before purchasing.

If anyone else has had a similar experience, I would encourage you to share it and consider reporting it through the appropriate channels so that others can make an informed decision.

Avoid JMS Used Cars in…

Avoid JMS Used Cars in Staines-upon-Thames – a deceptive and frustrating experience**

I had a terrible experience with JMS Used Cars in Staines-upon-Thames after purchasing a Mercedes-Benz from them. The car was **not as described**, and the problems began from day one. Within just three days, **all the warning lights on the dashboard began flashing**, leaving me with a clear indication that the car was not in the condition they had claimed.

When I reached out for support, they outright **refused to take back the car or repair it**. Instead of addressing the issue responsibly, "Jay," the salesperson who sold me the car, told me to "get a lawyer and take him to court." He also claimed that the dealership had not provided any guarantees, completely washing their hands of accountability.

The experience was riddled with **horrible customer service, dishonesty, and outright deception**. I would strongly advise others to steer clear of JMS Used Cars to avoid the stress and disappointment that I’ve endured.
