I booked a photoshoot with John Finlayson photography on 19th January 2020. The session was for my 10 year old daughter who needed some photographs for her performing arts, drama and dancing hobbies – in particular some headshots. We absolutely loved the photographs we got back. There were some really beautiful portrait photographs that really made the most of my daughter’s features and that I will be able to look back on fondly in years to come. There were also some gorgeous bold, bright and vibrant images that provide happy memories of a really fun afternoon. Communication both before, during and after the shoot was brilliant – which meant the photographer fully understood what we wanted and our photographs were delivered really quickly afterwards. I was really impressed when we arrived at the shoot and the photographer presented to us an example portfolio of the types of images he intended to capture during the shoot based on our prior communication and subsequent thought he given to our request. It meant that we came away with exactly what we wanted, as well as some other really amazing photographs that we would never have thought to ask for without his creativity. This was really helpful for my daughter as she was able to then understand what to expect during the shoot. The photographer was fantastic with her. He made her feel really at ease, to the extent that the session just turned into a couple of hours of sheer fun for her - as she got really into the process of trying different approaches. One was a fantastic montage shot that contained several images of my daughter in the same photograph. I would highly recommend John Finlayson photography for anyone wanting children’s photography or for actors, dancers, models or others in the performing arts industries wanting headshot updates / portfolio images.
