Severe chemical reaction and burns lasting 2 months
I don’t think I can give 0 stars.
I have an autoimmune disease. I have NEVER had any kind of reaction to skin products: my body is basically made up the same stuff as billy goats.
I bought John Frieda Frizz-Eeze shampoo and conditioner when I went abroad. The products lasted for just over 2 weeks. I developed an itch across the top of my body: completely confined to areas above the bra line. The burn and itch continued while abroad, despite switching out for another product available locally.
Upon getting home to England, I used the John Frieda products exclusively. There was an initial suspicion that my burning rash was caused by stress. Mid way through September, I started a 30mg a day course of anti steroids. I was very poorly. The steroids didn’t help because I continued using the shampoo and conditioner. My second dose of 40mg steroids became, not only debilitating, but life threatening. I was bed bound with an autistic 10 year old. My glucose levels were three times higher than they should have been. The shampoo and conditioner caused internal inflammation, swelling and psychological illness.
Finally. Not 7 days ago, I decided to stop the John Freida products and almost within 24 hours, the painful burn, rash and itch had started to subside. It’s one week later and my skin is still very sensitive. I’m grateful at least that now, my skin tolerates cotton clothing.
I am absolutely blown away that all these reviews have not prompted John Freida to pull this chemical slop off the shelves. How on earth they are still selling something that causes chemical burning from a Tesco hair aisle astonishes me.
Let alone that, to date, the only two people I know who have suffered chemical reactions both have autoimmune diseases. This is so, unbelievably unsafe.
