Bad Company and service

Moved into a house with an hvac system compressor and air handler from Johnson controls. Assumed the warranty from previous owner. Had nothing but problems for a year and a half. It would run for a while and than either the air or heat would not work. They finally gave me a new compressor. We were without heat or air for 5 weeks. To be fair the company that installed the unit installed the new compressor took three days to get it running correctly.

I have just had a run in with one of there drivers
He stood on his brakes for no apparent reason as I was following him around a roundabout then proceeded to use various aggressive hand gestures and verbal .
All completely unnecessary.
I’ve tried to report it to Johnson controls but they do not appear to have anywhere to complain about there drivers lack of skills

Systematic Failures in Service, Billing, and Communication

Johnson Controls invented contract terms that don't exist in writing, refuses to provide documentation for anything, mishandled our tax-exempt status and threatened collections over it, maintains unreliable equipment while evading their service obligations, and called outdated emergency contacts during a real fire alarm despite years of submitted updates.

We attempted to non-renew our contract per the written terms. They claimed we missed a 30-60 day notice window that exists nowhere in our signed agreement. When confronted, they called it "company policy." Policies don't override contracts.

Everything outside of sales goes through a call center. Verbal promises are never documented. They only send collection notices, never confirmations. We requested a corrected invoice without sales tax (we're a non-profit). They claimed they'd "remove it on their side" but couldn't update the invoice. Now they're threatening collections for tax they legally cannot charge us.

Despite having a service contract and warranty, they find reasons every failure isn't covered. The contract is meaningless when you're billed for every repair.

They call about minor "comm faults" at 3 AM threatening to dispatch emergency services. During an actual fire alarm, they called a years-old contact number we've updated multiple times via their required fax process (yes, fax in 2025). They implemented some updates from those forms, proving they received them.

Run. Just run. That's my best advice. This level of dysfunction is not acceptable when it comes to life safety systems.

Price Gouging for York Furnace replacement parts

We have a York furnace model FL9C. It has been reliable, but in the middle of a heat wave the A/C stopped working. The cause was that the furnace blower motor conked out. The replacement motor cost over $4000 - that is highway robbery given that the cost of a brand new furnace is less than $6K. Needless to say, we will never touch another York product and suggest you do the same. Buyer beware - the cost of replacement parts is not something I see covered by furnace product literature and reviews.

I thought I was buying a product…

I thought I was buying a product through another company and then found out that Johnson controls was selling items under another name. My question: Is this to deceive? I believe so and if I had known that Johnson Controls were the company operating for the product I was buying, then based on the reviews I see, I would never have touched them with a barge pole.

I have been sold a contract under false pretences and under a false identity.

I have certainly not finished with dealing with the issues yet and will keep posting until it is resolved.

I bought a luxaire system a little over…

I bought a luxaire system a little over 2 years ago, constant repairs ive spent thousands on eletric bills as system keeps blowing parts out. Warrenty sucks . Still costs money to get repaired. Now the compressor is out due to the fack high side dryer was welded in with closed line so it caused a restriction from day one. My old system the electric bill was 375.00 per month , with the new system its 800.00 per month. Now im waiting on a compressor thats going to take a week to get, im a disabled veteran and need air condioning in my house , and in Houston Texas its already 97 degrees. Their customer service absolutly sucks no help what so ever. You call at 11:30 am they leave you on hold until 12 so they can go to lunch and dont come back until after 12:00 pm. I sat on hold for 1 hour and still have not spoke to anyone.

Concerns about AI

Application process is fully AI, you get a non-disclosed WhatsApp message from a bot thats disguised as a human recruiter powered by "Paradox AI". It doesn't actually answer any questions, instead it utters completely incomprehensible sentences like "why are you" (no other context to the question) and just collects useless information about you.

Looking at the website for their Olivia model, this also means that you will video chat with the AI bot as part of your interview. This is an inhumane application process.

If this is how applications are handled, I don't even know how bad working there would be.

Dangerous drivers

Never used the service but can say from what the drivers park like the service must be poor. The parking is unbelievable, the driver parked at an angle on double yellow lines and a drop kerb, ive had to witness children and a woman with a pushchair having to go behind the van into the road just to cross the road. Absolutely shocked and to do this in a residential area, teach your drivers how to bloody park. Reg number Bk23 0DW if that helps.

Would rate it ZERO stars if I could

Sudden over 50 % price increase for service without any clear reason, same system, service and contract. If you do not accept, they would stop your alarm system functioning. Pure chantage...Not responsive when asking questions about this to clarify.
