I would give zero stars if possible. Heard has not provided the service they state. I have participated for three months and have not had a single personal contact with Heard. I have not been assigned an accountant and they have done nothing to support me other than selling me tax software that I could get anywhere. They send multiple messages a day, including advising me on Feb 12 that i would require a tax extension. I find this unacceptable. BEWARE of Heard. You do not get what they promise at all.

I appreciate and enjoy having the bookkeeping and accounting to keep me accountable, informed, and equipped. Not to mention the many different information given regarding private practice, management, and growth. I just opened my private practice in October 2025 and it really does help me focus on my client but not worry about my bookkeeping and finances.
Very responsive crew, helpful and really knowledgeable in ways that my previous tax accountant services was not. I really have enjoyed working with them and growing my own knowledge around my practice's finances and future goals.
Really annoyed at HEARD's service. I spent $1500 to ensure that they would help me with my past taxes and start my 1099 form for my one employee. I keep messaging them for help, but I haven't received a response. Not a word. Not a phone call. Now I have to go and pay someone else to help me do my taxes. So annoyed.

After my original experience with poor communication with my tax preparer, I have been satisfied with communication with HEARD as a whole. Finances confuse me and they help make it clearer.
So far heard has provided me with the structure and tools I needed to feel secure, supported and at ease in so many ways. Highly recommend to anyone starting their own private practice
I appreciate that my questions are answered quickly. In addition, the conversation is continued until I have an answer that I understand for my specific situation. Also, the resources available allow me to learn on my own, continuing in my growth as a business owner.
If you are a therapist looking for a full accounting solution that understands counseling practices needs, then check out Heard.
Heard's bookkeeping platform is reliable and provides all the information my CPA needs to prepare my taxes. However, they are not always able to help when issues arise. All in all, good enough to continue using but hoping for more support in the future.

Heard is very responsive and was ready to help walk me through the diffucult parts if the onboarding process.
I have been a client of Heard for a number of years and initially found their service to be an invaluable resource for my practice. However, over the past 12 months, I have experienced a significant and disappointing decline in both customer support and technical accuracy. The service has become increasingly unresponsive, with wait times for a reply now stretching to a full month. This has forced me to send multiple follow-up messages just to receive a basic response, which is unsustainable for any small business owner who relies on timely financial data.
The lack of accountability regarding my concerns is particularly concerning. My reports of a fund discrepancy went unaddressed for so long that I was forced to spend my own evening educating myself on bookkeeping principles to audit my own accounts. I ultimately found the errors myself—work that I should be able to rely on a professional service to handle. Furthermore, there is a recurring lack of understanding regarding my professional context. As a crisis therapist, I frequently travel between states, yet my dedicated business expenses for lodging and meals were questioned instead of focusing on the large discrepancy I had noted.
I am also struggling with a lack of clarity regarding specific transactions that have been cited by support but are not easily visible without combing my entire years record. I value the partnership I’ve had with Heard over the years, but I am currently paying for a service that I am essentially performing myself with an auto categorization bot. I hope this feedback prompts a senior representative to reach out, reconcile these discrepancies, and restore the professional level of support I once enjoyed.
UPDATE 3/10/26: Following my initial post, Heard reached out, and a senior staff member stepped in to help get my books in order. Things temporarily improved while this senior associate was involved, but as soon as I returned to the standard support channels, I ran into the same abysmal customer service and a set of newly created hurdles.
I urgently need a copy of my 2025 transactions for my CPA something Heard has provided every previous year without issue. Now, their staff is refusing to send me this basic transaction list until I sign off on my 2025 books. The problem? Upon reviewing those books, I discovered their team had reintroduced the exact same errors the senior associate and I had painstakingly fixed just a few weeks prior.
They are exceptionally slow to respond, unhelpful when I urgently need my own financial data, and seemingly incapable of maintaining accurate records once escalated support steps away. Between the continued errors and the complete lack of reliable customer service, I am officially switching services. I highly advise against using Heard.

I have never paid more taxes than I paid with Heard. Their bookkeepers did not listen to my feedback, and would change my transaction categories back even after I edited them to what they were. I did a lot of math when I started using this platform to see if it would be worth the cost, and I'm very disappointed to say this was a massive waste of money. I would highly dissuade anyone from using this platform.

They are responsive and software is really user friendly. I was doing things mostly on my own and then had a book keeper. Heard has been the best and relieved a lot of stress.

I have had a wonderful experience with Heard. I LOVE their platform and used them for my personal and business taxes. Their works was very thorough and communicative. So happy I've moved my system to work with them - it has been a huge game changer for me and my business.
I’ve had a really good experience with Heard and I’m happy to have them. It’s organized, streamlined and great customer service to help walk you thru just about anything.

Disappointed. Definite gaps in expertise. Sometimes I get stingy, slow and legalistic guidance.

Everyone has been very responsive since I have started. Heard has given me a piece of mind that someone has my back when it comes to finances when I don't have a lot of time to do it myself. Another good thing is that my questions have been answered in a quick and professional manner.

Heard's accounting and tax experience is significantly more helpful and up-to-date than that of my prior accountants. I always know what I need to do and can see the state of my expenses and transactions. The dashboard provides me with additional information that is both helpful and relevant to my practice as a psychotherapist in private practice.

For those with straight-forward clinical practices and tax situations, Heard is a fine accompaniment. Over time, the software learns your expenses and auto-categorizes them. The bookkeeping aspect has worked very well, and I feel confident that I'm not missing entries.
For those looking for more in-depth accounting (or those with complex tax situations), Heard is not set up for this.

I've been a Heard customer for almost 2 years now and in that period of time, I've seen so many improvements and added features. They are truly a company that lives up to their name! They take feedback from their customers and make positive changes. I'm really impressed with all the financial services I receive and their platform is very intuitive and easy to use. They significantly reduce my admin time so I'm able to focus on my practice. Also, the CEO and his team seem like really great people who truly care about their mission and helping therapists!
