Great virtual physiotherapy

I was referred to Joint Academy via my GP regarding acute pain in my thumb/wrist. I had no expectation of what treatment I was going to be offered. Upon receiving the emails to download the app, I realised it was a very simple process.

I had options of appointment times to suit me and I have recently just completed the first of these.

The physio Tanisha Saboo was very easy to talk to about the issues and provided her assessment very swiftly after a few movements. All information she provided was clear and helpful and explained how the treatment will be delivered through daily exercises.

This form of treatment works perfectly for me and I am looking forward to starting my plan tomorrow.

Joint Academy is an exercise in…

Joint Academy is an exercise in gatekeeping another hurdle to getting the correct medical treatment. I am literally putting one star as there isn’t an option here for no stars. Based in Scotland their contact number and email address is in Sweden and is not recognised so can’t contact them. The physio wanted to look at my bad knee over a video call on a phone - not at all useful. I needed an MRI my GP said so the app physio closed my case was supposed to refer back to MSK & he failed to which caused further delay & frustration. I had 2 hours of calling MSK to progress my case as Joint Academy did not do as they said - complete waste of time bad service used to fob patients off in my experience.

App does not replace real individual help

I was referred to this app from my GP due to long term neck pain and the exercises seemed completely irrelevant for the neck. After following the exercises given for several months I am in even more pain and still waiting to be seen by someone. I have been told I will be having yet another a video chat in January. Hopeless situation.

How can physio be done via an app

How can physio be done via an app? My GP in house physio wasn't sure what was wrong stating a few options, then put my on the 12 week programme for plantar fascitis. The area I was suffering in was not the plantar area.
Anyway physio was started via the app I told him it was not in the area of where plantar fascitis happens, but still I was given advice or raised heel shoes, gel cups, raised heel sandals.
All this instantly made my foot swell. I cannot take anti inflammatory drugs due to bowel disease. The exercises were causing excruciating pain. In the end he said there's nothing I can do and referred me back to Circle. At this point I had been suffering 8 months because of waiting times.
After seeing a physical physiotherapist she has said the raised heel items have made it worse as it's a ligament and tendon issue on my outer ankle bone. I wouldn't recommend joint academy.
