Expensive poor quality socks
The socks are fairly expensive, even for the basic ones. The basic ones haven’t lasted very long at all, most likely because they’re so thin. I’ve had them for 2 years and I wore them quite a lot at the start but when I noticed they started to get holes and could see my feet through the thread I stopped wearing them as often. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect more from them - I’ve got socks from Next that have well surpassed 5 or 6 years.
The concept of the recycling and buy a pair share a pair is great, but the cost is pretty ridiculous considering the quality: £34 for 4 pairs of socks, and only 1 pair is still going strong, but they’re a thicker pair of gym socks which I only wear in summer. I’d rather just buy socks from a different retailer and donate to a shelter or donate to a humanitarian relief charity or another charity who I know will be helping provide clothing to people in other countries who aren’t as fortunate.
The mission statement clearly defines that Jollie’s want to make really good socks sustainably. I’d argue they’re only doing 1 part of that.
