The awning was missing a screw which wasn’t a massive deal, but did need replacing so we could use it. However, after a few calls & emails, we arranged for a repair whilst the RV was parked... See more

Extremely Disappointed with Jucy…
Extremely Disappointed with Jucy Rentals – Poor Service and Vehicle Quality
We rented a Jucy Condo expecting a reliable and comfortable experience, but it turned out to be one of the most frustrating rentals we’ve ever had.
1. Unfair Pricing:
• We booked our rental months in advance for 321 NZD per day, only to discover that the same vehicle is now available for 231 NZD per day for the same rental period.
• The price drop was so significant that canceling and paying the 20% cancellation fee would have been cheaper than keeping the original booking. When we contacted customer support, they simply dismissed our concerns and refused to make any adjustments.
2. Long Wait and Poor Support:
• At check-in, we waited over two hours to pick up the vehicle.
• Once we got the keys, the staff provided no explanation of how the vehicle worked, and we had to return to the branch later to get basic instructions.
3. Dirty and Poorly Maintained Vehicle:
• The vehicle was dirty when we received it, with cobwebs inside.
• The toilet and grey water tank had not been emptied, leaving us to clean out other people’s waste—a completely unacceptable start to our trip.
• The water tank wasn’t full, and the electric cable had a tear, which posed a potential safety issue.
4. Broken Features:
• The curtains are broken, so light comes in during the night, making it hard to sleep.
• The rooftop window is stuck and covered in mold, which is both inconvenient and unhygienic.
• The left-side speaker doesn’t work, which made long drives less enjoyable.
We paid a premium price and expected premium service, but what we received was subpar in every way. The lack of professionalism, poor vehicle condition, and refusal to address pricing concerns left us deeply disappointed.
If you’re considering renting with Jucy, think twice. Make sure to double-check their pricing closer to your travel dates and inspect the vehicle thoroughly before accepting it. We regret our decision to rent from them and hope they take these issues seriously for the sake of future customers.

Messy service, bad price-quality ratio
From day one we had some trouble with the rental company Jucy. We rented a Jucy Crib from Queenstown to Christchurch and at arrival we got appointed a car where the back doors could hardly be opened. The personnel was not helpful and considerate and lied to us by saying all cars had that problem, which was not the case. In the end, after a lot of trouble, perseverance and time we got another car that did work. The car was clearly not checked thoroughly though, because the hot water kettle contained mold…
Sometime during our trip we got car trouble and called Jucy. The car could hardly get up a hill and shook very badly while driving. Jucy directed us to an auto garage, but first gave the wrong directions. Therefore, we were late to the appointment and the auto garage was almost closed when we arrived. Also at the drop off of the car the service was messy and not very friendly. In the end, the price you pay for the car is not in line with the quality you get and the service could be a lot better.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service, very competitive. Nice clean cars.
Jucy went above and beyond to return an item we left in the car when we returned it. This was returned to the UK.
Thank you

Easy to reach from the airport
Easy to reach from the airport. Exactly what you expect from a Jucy camper. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Would book again.

Pick up from airport was smooth as was the check-in process. I was in and out with my wheels very quickly. Only fault is the windscreen wipers could do with replacement and a mobile phone cradle to help make navigation easier as the older model of car doesn't have a space built in. Otherwise car was clean and full tank of petrol was appreciated

The worst Rental provider I have ever…
The worst Rental provider I have ever used an absolute disgrace, left us stranded at Brisbane Airport for 2 hours told us they were on there way but were actually closed.
Highly recommended Alpha they were great and trustworthy not like Jucy in Brisbane took our money but no refund.
I intend to visit them in person when we return to Brisbane next year and sort out.

DO NOT HIRE
DO NOT HIRE - unless you have time to return the vehicle and get everything fixed every two days. You couldn’t pay me to hire a campervan from here again.
I should’ve listened to the previous reviews here.
Almost all of their Condo fleet have bald tyres (not roadworthy) and we experienced a very scary slip that could’ve ended in a crash (we were going under the speed limit and driving carefully over wet tarmac) - brought it back after two days for a refund and they admitted there was an issue with the tyres and wasted two days of our vacation - didn’t refund.
- they fail to advertise that it gets about 25L/100km - terrible fuel efficiency even for a campervan, which is shocking when considering they are meant to be the “newer” hiaces. Factor this into $3/L petrol and your in for a massive cost.
- plenty of previous passengers hairs lying around which is great if you want to do some DNA research, not great if you’re trying to find peace and get good sleep.
- stains everywhere - including the bed sheets (photos)
- usb ports didn’t work
- gas stove didn’t work (and if they did only one at a time and these were the “newer” ones)
- rattling sound from the AC that was painfully irritating on a long roadtrip
- entertainment system didn’t work
- cutlery was freshly used and not washed by the previous customers or JUCY
- sink didn’t drain (and when it did, it would take an hour)
I was doing a relocation to Auckland and they include that there may be issue with the vehicles which we would be advised about - but we weren’t advised of any of these. Additionally, the safety risk is not worth the hassle. We ended up renting from a more reputable and trustworthy rental company and I’d advise you do the same. They ended up charging us an additional $500 more because we returned the vehicle early and refuse to accept another death trap that would have similar issues. Still no refund.
People were kind and the campervan was a good idea but poorly maintained.

Underwhelming cutomer service from Jucy staff. It was clear the staff were not ready for us - car was filthy, everything seemed an inconvenience and an effort.

The car was very old, dirty and faulty
We picked up the car in Adelaide and dropped it off in Melbourne. The car was very old, unkept and dirty. It still had old flies in the ceiling and the doors (all 4) were broken. The sink was leaking water into the dish compartments. We tried emailing about these things but got no response. Also we called to ask if we could bring the car back one day earlier and the Jucy attendant on the phone said it made no difference whether it was the day before or not - but we could of course not get a refund for the day earlier, which made sense. We then called the next day to say, that we just would bring it back on the original date and then they tried to charge us for an extra day (which we had already paid for!). She put us on hold for 10 minutes and we decided after to bring it back the day earlier to not pay for the same day twice. We nearly missed the dropoff time because of being put on hold and still don’t get how they wanted to charge us extra. For each toll that the vehicle is charged on roads Jucy adds an administrative fee, which the other companies we have rented cars or campervans have not. Beware of hidden fees. Would rather spend our money elsewhere on renting better vehicles and better service.

Smooth and helpful
Certainly worth giving these guys a try
Staff were friendly and helpful and not as demanding as other car hire companies I have dealt with.

The employees were friendly but the bed…
The employees were friendly but the bed broke upon first pulling it out, leading me to have to return to the office when I was already running late due to the large line when I first arrived. Also I was missing towels, a table, and the pull out surface to cook on.

Disappointed
I was quite satisfied with the rental. Its price is very low so I didn't expect a good campervan.
However, what disappointed me the most is the hidden charges they make you pay if you go to tolls or you need to pay a fine (e.g speed limit). In my case, they charged me the double of the fine only as a management fee. From the $100NZD the 70% goes only to Jucy. It is a robbery!! Very disappointed with this.
The cheap sometimes is more expensive...

If you want to enjoy your vacation, DO NOT rent from Jucy Lucy
They don’t maintain their campers, which can be very risky for you and your family... they gave us a camper with a hydraulic steering oil leak (something totally preventable). We called because we were stranded on the road, and they told us to buy the oil and they would reimburse us... we had to stop repeatedly to buy and refill the oil, which wasted a lot of time... at the end of our vacation, we emailed the receipts and NEVER got a response or any reimbursement... TERRIBLE service and attention to their customers.

First time using Jucy 2 star for customer experience
First time using Jucy in Auckland and the staff gives zero crap about their customers requests. (They don’t have to)
Let me give you two reasons why:
The first time I ever arrived in Auckland airport, I didnt know where to go to reach the shuttle bus, so I used the phone of the concierge (information desk) to ask where it is. With their little brain they directed me to the place of it just for me to arrive and being told that the shuttle bus has finished picking at 3:30pm, which was the time I was in the phone with them!!! They are a small team working in a big company surely they know the time of the shuttle bus last pickup time and could have told me on the phone!! So I had to go back to the information desk in the airport and take a taxi. Wasting their valuable time to assist me after hours at 4pm. (I found out that the person with the glasses, bearded and dark skin was the one answered my call)
The second reason was that the time of car return at 3:29pm (3.5 hours earlier than originally booked), they also are not able to be flexible and do a shuttle drop off service for us. Sigh. The lady at the desk simply said “sorry drop off time close at 3:30pm” duh??. Lets see if they ever refunded the unused 3.5 hours or even better charge for any other particulars??

Car performance has been better than expected for an older model at a budget price. Also economical on fuel for a medium size sedan.
