I am enjoying the app overall. Right now I am focusing on Spanish, but I love that I have other options. The platform is upbeat and very interactive. I can even set a reminder for my daily lesson. I... See more

Don’t bother
The basic program is boring and the upgraded lessons don’t exist!
I paid an extra £29 for a Spanish Master class and it does not exist. 4 weeks in and I have emailed them 30 times and I never get an answer.
Steer clear!

I really enjoy Jumpspeak because the native language speaker's voice is exactly what I need to learn from. It's self paced, so I enjoy no pressure.

Most of the speakers are unintelligable. Male Computer voices are slurred and sound like drunks. Some female voices not much better. 1 female voice was excellent but was only used in the first segment on greetings and introductions and never was heard again. No refund of course so $100 down the drain. I deleted the app
App is okay but AI very glitchy and functionality not really responsive.
Helpful to receive review of spoken tasks.
My experience of customer support is that they don’t respond and they don’t offer support via social.
Disappointed
Don’t do it! Not very helpful for learning and TERRIBLE business model. I complained about an unsupported charge and was told, “too bad, you owe us another year” Auto subscribe is a total ripoff. You will never speak with any customer service rep. Have I convinced you yet? There are far better services available.
I signed up for Jumpspeak because I don’t enjoy the gamification of Duolingo. It seems okay to me, I’m learning French, and the lessons are structured in a way I find helpful. I do not recommend the AI premium, and found it not a good value for the price. Their speech recognition system is not good, and the conversation seems to be from a predetermined script that the user is unaware of. Therefore, your replies go in one direction while the AI goes in another. Not helpful for learning. Customer support was very helpful.
I got off to a bad start since I made a mistake in spelling of my email address when I paid so didn't receive access to Jumpspeak. However after several emails, and connecting with Sean, a REAL person, he was able to correct the problem and I am now into the program and find it very helpful. I appreciate that Quebec French is honored in the conversation. Thanks, Sean! I do get automatic messages that don't apply sometimes but was given information on how to disregard. Peace to you! KD

It's a rip off - they state there is a 100-day free trial but instead they debit your account of the yearly fee of £52.76 automatically. The bank cannot claim it back through a dispute or fraud claim as it's a non-recurring payment.
Awesome company service. Just started learning but app already outperforms other services.

Interactive immersive learning . Works well if used consistently.

Customer service is very good. I'm learning a new word everyday and the UI is easy to use. I appreciate the team making learning a new language easier and fun.
When I heard about Jumpspeak, I decided to give it a try. Soon, I’m going back to a foreign country, and I really need to learn the language more to be able to fit in better with my friends and to travel more independently. Getting signed up and started was easy and I enthusiastically began the lessons. Unfortunately, for me I discovered that I’m one of those few people, who for whatever reason, just has a block or barrier to learning a foreign language. Fortunately, over the years I have been able to depend upon the friendliness and generosity of others who will communicate with me in English. After a few email conversations with the company, I decided that this learning format might not be best for me. They offered me a refund, and I sincerely appreciated that. Even with my short experience with Jumpspeak, I encourage anyone who is considering learning or improving with foreign language skills to give the Jumpspeak method a try. I’m sure they will take care of you as well.

The app did not work on my old iPhone 8, so I stopped using it. When my membership automatically renewed, I tried it again, and the app had been upgraded and now worked! Yay! so happy. And it really helps me learn. Thank you, JumpSpeak.

While I enjoyed the program, my plans fell through and I cancelled my subscription in September of 2025.
I have since been charged twice. I filed a complaint with my bank each time and received a threatening email from the company each time.
Customer service is fantastic. Very quick replies and listened to what I had to say. I found the wood section very useful. I was able to slowly start going through the words and learning new vocabulary each day as I went throughout my day.
I did however, find the app itself a little glitchy to be completely honest. I also found that it didn’t recognize my voice, even if I said exactly the same thing five times the fifth time it will say I am correct. I also found the English difficult and it just wasn’t my learning style. Apart from the word section, which was fantastic.
Looking forward to seeing what this looks like overtime as this company grows and refines the product
The app is easy to use and has lots of variety that helps to consolidate learning.
The customer service is excellent too!

I heard about Jumpspeak on social media. I liked the idea of having a personal "AI teacher" to have conversations with.
When registering for it, the whole process already felt really like "getting a foot in the door". You are getting invested answering multiple questions just to find out there is no free tier / test phase or so. For the minimum plan you have to spend 55€ (including discounts) for 1 year of the "Premium plan" on the spot.
After doing that payment, you immediately get asked to buy more modules like the "Premium AI plan", which I initially thought would already be included, since that feature was the one focused on in the sponsored videos I've seen.
This feature alone costs an additional 129€ / year, but at least has a 2 week test phase, which is why I ordered it as well – to test it.
The product itself has a nice visual design, but the lessons themselves were not helpful to me at all. I already know quite some Japanese after learning it for almost 2 year, but the lessons (at least the early ones I tried) did not seem to have any actual idea behind it how to actually give some knowledge to the user. At least I did not learn anything from it and just repeated words I did not really understand.
This might change later on, but from what I've seen from the app, it didn't appeal to me.
Based on my negative impression, I wanted to cancel everything I just subscribed to (the "Premium plan" with the 100 day refund policy as well as the test phase of the "Premium AI plan").
I experienced the cancellation process as really hard to follow. I got a link to their customer portal after subscribing to the "Premium plan", which I then could use to disable the auto-renewal for the "Premium plan", but for the refund of the already paid fee, there was no automation. I needed to email their customer service whose email address I had to google for.
Also I did not see anything regarding the "Premium AI plan" in my subscription management portal. So I expected it to be enough to disable the renewal. That was not the case.
After 2 weeks I automatically got charged 129€ for the full year for the "Premium AI plan", which is when I contacted customer service.
My first attempt reaching out to them resulted in me being made aware of the "Premium AI plan" not falling under the 100 day refund policy, but they could still investigate further if I could send them a screenshot that proves my cancellation of the "Premium AI plan" within the 2 week test phase.
I followed up explaining what I just explained here as well, resulting in me actually getting the 129€ refund for the "Premium AI plan".
At the moment I am still waiting for a refund of the original 55€ for the regular "Premium plan".
Conclusion:
My recommendation to Jumpspeak is to heavily work on the initial impression of their product during the sales process. It feels really scammy, and I felt a bit betrayed even before opening their app for the first time. This should obviously not be your company's first impression.
I see that many companies do this whole "getting a food in the door" thing just to make some quick sales, but reading most of the other reviews here reassures me I am not the only one feeling that way. Being honest up-front and selling a good product users enjoy will always have the upper hand in the long run.
So what would've been the best possible experience for me as a user:
- Having the possibility to play around with the app before financially investing (e.g. by having a few days to test it, or to have the first few lessons for free)
- Knowing about the AI being an extra module and what it costs from the very beginning
- Having one central portal where I can manage ALL of my subscriptions including test phases
Even if other people might enjoy using the app, I still think the "onboarding" could be heavily improved.
I'm still rating 2* for having a good customer service. But it would surely be better trying to prevent people using it at all in the first place.
I am a teacher of MFL and speak 5 languages fluently already. I am using Jumpspeak to learn Italian and find this app tremendously well thought out and conceived. It really does work.

I enjoy learning, well trying to learn, Italian. This app helps. It doesn't always work correctly and has frozen me out a couple of times. My complaint was listened to and acted on really quickly. Grazie
