Kae Vidé (Kay-ve-day) is inspired by the Latin Phrase “Que videt”, translating to “What do you see” in the English language. Created in 2021 in a small town on the South Coast of England by an individual with an interest in abstract art, psychology and street fashion. They decided to explore the possibility of combining the three to create a clothing style whose essence and meaning are decided by the wearer. Taking influences from areas such as psychoanalytical experiments and philosophical teachings, Kae Vidé aims to capture the abstract. Unique natures of the mind allow observers and wearers alike to decipher what the meaning of an item is to them as individuals. We welcome exploration of how you visually interpret a design and what you see within it, the way you interpret a line of text, the interpretation of our name, or something else entirely. We encourage different perspectives and recognise that each mind may approach the form in its own way as no two are the same; you are unique. There are no right or wrong answers, only what the mind interprets. Art can invoke an incredibly broad array of thought and emotion and we hope to spark such sentiment through the pieces we create.
