I had a disappointing experience with Kamernet Premium
I had a disappointing experience with Kamernet Premium.
I purchased Kamernet Premium for €38 while urgently looking for housing. In my case, there were very few listings that matched my criteria. I completed my profile and carefully contacted a landlord, but I did not receive any useful response and did not find the service effective.
I later found out that the Premium plan was a recurring monthly subscription rather than a one-time 4-week access. Kamernet states that this was shown during checkout, but I personally found it easy to miss when purchasing under pressure to find housing.
After the subscription renewed, I cancelled it and contacted customer service to ask whether the new invoice could be cancelled, reduced, or charged pro rata because I did not intend to use the new period. This request was refused, and I was told the full invoice remained due.
Customer service replied politely, but the policy felt very inflexible. Based on my own experience, I found the platform expensive, not very effective, and the auto-renewal process frustrating.
My advice to other users: if you buy Premium, cancel it immediately after purchase unless you are sure you want it to renew. T

Finally found a place to stay
Although the market is incredibly competitive, the only place where I was able to even get into contact with landlords was Kamernet. After a few weeks of searching, I did find a good place to stay, and that would not have been possible without Kamernet.

I had a very disappointing experience with Kamernet.
I purchased a subscription to find housing and used the platform actively for two weeks. During that time, I sent over 120 applications to different listings, but I did not receive a single acknowledgement or response. Based on my experience, the service did not provide the value I expected.
When I contacted customer support to request a refund, it was refused because they stated that I had waived my right of withdrawal when signing up.
The cancellation process was also frustrating. When cancelling my subscription, I was asked whether I had found housing. Selecting “No” would not allow me to continue with the cancellation. The only way I was able to complete the cancellation was by selecting “Yes, I have found housing,” even though that was not true.
Overall, I found the platform disappointing, the refund policy inflexible, and the cancellation process misleading. This was my experience, and I hope it helps others make an informed decision before subscribing.

Better move to another country
The website itself is well structured and easy to use. However, my overall experience has been very disappointing. There seem to be many overpriced listings, especially targeting international tenants and expats. I also came across listings offering rooms or even beds without registration, which raises serious concerns and, in my opinion, should be monitored much more strictly.
Kamernet should do more to verify listings and ensure that landlords comply with Dutch housing regulations. Finding housing is already extremely difficult, and tenants should not feel pressured into accepting questionable or potentially illegal rental situations because of a lack of alternatives.
The platform has potential, but stronger moderation and better protection for tenants would greatly improve the experience.
