Better move to another country
The website itself is well structured and easy to use. However, my overall experience has been very disappointing. There seem to be many overpriced listings, especially targeting international tenants and expats. I also came across listings offering rooms or even beds without registration, which raises serious concerns and, in my opinion, should be monitored much more strictly.
Kamernet should do more to verify listings and ensure that landlords comply with Dutch housing regulations. Finding housing is already extremely difficult, and tenants should not feel pressured into accepting questionable or potentially illegal rental situations because of a lack of alternatives.
The platform has potential, but stronger moderation and better protection for tenants would greatly improve the experience.

Kamernet has been disappointing in my experience. The subscription is quite expensive, especially considering the limited number of available listings. On top of that, many of the properties shown on the platform are no longer available, even though they are still displayed as active listings.
I would strongly recommend that Kamernet improve the way listings are managed and updated. This would help users avoid wasting time applying for unavailable properties and paying for a subscription that provides little real value.
Keeping listings accurate and up to date would make the platform much more transparent and fair for people searching for housing.

A subscription does not automatically cancel when a payment attempt fails. When a payment is unsuccessful, the subscription remains active and the outstanding balance remains due.
We do not immediately refer unpaid balances to a debt collection agency. There is a period of almost of 1 month during which we send several communications to the email address registered on the account, informing the customer of the failed payment and the steps required to resolve the issue.
Only if the outstanding balance remains unpaid after these reminders and the notification period has elapsed is the matter referred to an external debt collection agency.
