I have just returned from Tanzania, where I climbed killimanjaro on the Lemosho Route. What a fabulous trip. I can not put in writing how good Kandoo were. A group of 7 people, perfect size, everything was thought of in advance, from the porters running up the mountain to secure the best sites at the camps and amazing food, to helping each of us with our individual challenges from altitude sickness to bad knees! Thank you to them for making it a success for us all. I can not recommend enough!

We did the 8 day Lemosho route which was perfect for our group - not too rushed and giving us plenty of time to acclimatise. The guides were very knowledgable and made sure that we went at a pace that was right for us. Food was good and plentiful. We could not have been better looked after.

It was an excellent trip, but there was no rep to drive with us to Buenos Aires Airport. When we arrived at the airport there was no rep there either. We didn't know the flight number or flight time. We eventually found it by our own devices, but we were late! At El Califati, there was no rep to greet us and we hadn't been told that our guide was advertising a different company. Again we had to do this ourselves by a process of elimination. These issues caused a lot of stress in the airports.

Amazing Experience - I booked the EBC Trek with Kandoo which was very easy from the start. Great communication from the Kandoo team and they provided us with every last detail we needed to consider before the trip.
The guides and porters we had on the trip couldn’t have done any more for us and the trip wouldn’t have been the same without them - Dawa, Mingma, Lhakpa and Chapelle. Great tea houses throughout with a good selection of food, Kathmandu accommodation was also very nice.
We booked the Trek for the end of January which is considered to be off season but the weather was very nice and the tea houses and routes weren’t busy at all. Our group of four were the only people on the trek as well which was a bonus. The only downside of booking at this time of year is that it was very cold at night which a good sleeping bag and sitting around the stove helps with.
I would highly recommended the EBC Trek and booking it with Kandoo.

The trip to Bhutan was an experience of life time. Kandoo was actively in touch with me from the start and managed to put everything together at a very short notice of about three weeks.
The Kandoo crew in Bhutan was exceptional, they were very friendly, polite and organised everything without a glitch. I was fortunate to see the last day Paro festival (dressed in kiri) and the beautiful Thongdrol that was on display until late morning. My guide Kingama and driver Karma took me to a number of monasteries, dzongs and sites in Paro, Thimpu and Punakha filling me with a lot of knowledge about Buddhism, the culture, food and the country. On my insistance, we also tried some local food and drinks. Karma kindly invited me to his home one afternoon where he cooked a traditional meal for me.
We also went for the Jhomolhari base camp trek for which six horses, a cook - Dorjee, assistant cook - Chaddo and Horseman Namgay joined us. They were the friendliest people and fed me the best food ( including cakes, dumplings, pancakes ) - three course hot meals all six days. After spending two nights at basecamp we couldn't go past the passes due to unexpected snow. However, at last minute guide decided arranged an alternative and we went on a day trek to a very remote temple at the other side of Jhomolhari where we stayed for two nights. It was the best experience of my life to meet the Llama who is residing there. It is a very calming, serene and spiritual place, very humbling. We went to a number holy sites - caves, lakes and relicc around the monastery on second day, with Llama guiding us and explaining us everything on the way. I will never forget those two days, it was the highlight of my trip. In a way being snowed under turned out to be a blessing for me. Last day of the trek was bon fire night with lot of singing and dancing by the crew. This was an awesome trek where all five of us were a real team, I did not feel lonely at any point.
10 days felt very short and I have returned with memories of a life time. I feel very fortunate to have the best people from Kandoo to make it unforgettable.

Freddie, our guide, was great as were all of the porters. The cooks were unbelievable. All meals were great, nutritious and delicious. Even had a cake at our last meal was unexpected.
I did not like the fact that we had to buy water for part of the trip. Don’t you know that we need water on our trips?

I celebrated by 30th Birthday in Mount Kilimanjaro with Kandoo.
The communication was amazing- from initial inquiry to all follow-up emails. It was a very detailed trip. The hotel where we stayed before and after the climb was comfortable and nice sized room. It was quite pricey but very good service.
I did my climb with 6 people from France and 2 people from Canada. The guides and the porters were very friendly. During the summit night, it was a very bad weather but our guides was just incredible. Without their 10000% support and motivation, we would not be able to make it. The food was very good. We were well fed and well-taken care of in the mountain. The guides and porters will do whatever they can to make your experience easier and better. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I was in tears when the whole team sang me Happy Birthday after the summit night. It was my best trip ever!

We had a fabulous holiday with the help of Kandoo. Right from the start they were superb and answered any queries I had plus provided uses information and advise. Very impressed. On the actual trip everything went extremely smoothly and was always ontime. Alex, our guide, was brilliant. Probably the best guide I've ever had. The chef and porters were also great lads. Thoroughly recommend Kandoo

In summary – wow, wow, wow!
This is the 3rd time I have used Kandoo and they did not disappoint! The organisation from booking to tranfers was impeccable.
The first part of our trip was the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. I knew the scenery and Inca sites would be spectacular but the best part of the trail was our Kandoo team. You could not fault them. Our guide, Alex, was incredibly enthusiastic about the Inca history and the wildlife we discovered along the way. I had no particular interest in wildlife, in particular the flora, but by the end of the four days, I could recognise most flowers! His enthusiasm was infectious! He was a very skilled photographer so we have some incredible memories to look back on.
There were four in our group – one gluten free, two vegetarians and a big meat eater. The chef, Camelous, catered for each of us at every meal. When the rest of the group had pancakes, he cooked me a quinoa pancake, which was delicious. When the rest of the group were given the Kandoo cake, I was given a separate gluten free cake – again delicious. Gluten free cakes/pastries are incredibly difficult to make as they can be quite dry so it just shows the quality of the chef that he could produce such a wide variety of incredible foods to suit everyone. It was restaurant quality food cooked on a ring burner! We even had a cooking masterclass one night where Carmelous showed us how to cook a local speciality.
The rest of the team couldn’t do enough for us. Our tents were always laid out with sleeping bags, water for washing and towels. We were woken in the mornings with a friendly hello, hot drinks, water and towels. The best part of our trip was arriving at the campsites and hearing our Kandoo giggling and laughing – the only team who were! They literally laughed and giggled through the whole trek and although we couldn’t understand what they were saying, it was infectious. The only time they were serious was when they were carrying out their individual duties - these they took very seriously.
We were really pleased we had done the trail before going to Machu Picchu as we saw lots of Inca sites on the way. They were less restored and very quiet. We could wander around and see everything in detail. It was almost like our own discoveries. Mach Picchu was amazing but it was a tourist attraction so didn’t have the same impact as the other sites.
The second part of our trip was the Amazon jungle. Our guide, Elvis, was amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable about jungle wildlife and enthusiastic to share what he knew. His enthusiasm was infectious and you soon found yourself independently spotting birds, animals and plants.
Our camp in the jungle was the highlight of our trip. Our chef, Valentine cooked some amazing, restaurant quality food, in his makeshift kitchen. Our tents were put up with sleeping bags rolled out with fresh towels. The campsite and path to the toilet were lit with candles. The noise of the jungle at night was incredible – peaceful yet incredibly loud.
Our visit to the Clay-lick the following morning was amazing, the noise of all the parrots, parakeets and macaws was deafening. Elvis was a skilled photographer and we have some fabulous photographs to look back on. In particular, my video of a tarantula coming out of its den is just brilliant.
Apologies for the length review but it was such an amazing trip!

I have recently returned from a Kilimanjaro trip organised by Kandoo, my friend and i had an incredible time. I loved every minute of it , even the cold, dark bits!
The office communication throughout the booking process was excellent, they really provided a lot of inside knowledge and information which was extremely helpful to us both. From the minute we were met at Kilimanjaro airport by Damien, the service and care provided by the team on the ground was very impressive. Emmanuelle was very welcoming and arranged for someone to show us around Moshi, he also arranged last minute for us to go on a day’s safari to Arusha national park, which was a great addition to our trip. Nothing seemed like too much bother for him. He also came to our hotel at the end to see how we had got on. The hotel was great too, the pool and view of Kilimanjaro were a highlight. Especially after we returned at the end of our climb!
The team that took us on the actual Kilimanjaro trip (Machame route) were truly exceptional. Our guides Filbert and Happygod, took great care of us. We felt vey fortunate to have them leading the way. The food was really delicious and so varied. Still can’t quite work out how Lavaro and his team managed to produce so many tasty meals from their tent. All the porters were so helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we had a great time., cleaning our boots and dusty clothes at the end of the day (Beatus took his tent pitching duties very seriously and went the extra mile making sure we had everything we needed) We so enjoyed our time with them all, their welcome and end of trip dancing was an added bonus, as well as their congratulatory dance when we got back to base camp after reaching the summit. The cake was such a generous gesture.
We would highly recommend Kandoo as a company from start to finish, the whole trip went like clockwork.
A trip of a lifetime delivered exceptionally well by all at Kandoo Adventures.
