My plan was to install in 2025 a Bimini on my sailboat, a Moody 45 DS. The boat is located in Laboe Germany. So as usual, I tried to find a canope maker, doing Bimini’s and other boat covers as well, sure, in the area of Kiel.
I was told that such a project can be potentially done in the end of the season 2025, maybe in the beginning of 2026.
Having had in mind to do the project in summer 2025 I had to look in the Internet to find somebody else, maybe outside Germany.
Promoted in the internet as the biggest company for boat covers and canopes in Scandinavia, I called Kapell and Annat, based in Malmö Sweden. This sounded perfect for me because Malmö was on our planned summer sailing route.
Already my first contact to Kapell and Annat via telephone was brilliant. People understood immediately what I wanted to have and that this project had to be done when passing at Malmö. I got an immediate offer for the frames and the fabric.
Having arrived in Malmö on a Sunday evening the measures for the frames were taken on Monday morning at 7:30. On Tuesday morning - so you may not believe it - at 7:30 the frames became installed on the boat and the measurement for the fabric was taken.
We left Malmö for 3 days to visit the island of Ven, where we had a fantastic time doing sight seeing with rental bikes.
Back in Malmö on Friday morning the same week the fabric was installed in the afternoon.
Design, quality and communication meets absolutely my expectations! The installation is very robust and stable even during strong winds.
I’m very happy having chosen Sweden. I could recommend to everybody in Germany or wherever to contact Kapell & Annat for a project concerning canopies, boat covers or Bimini’s.
