Told us not to worry about AirCon when selling, and then asked for a THOUSAND Euro to fix it

When we bought our car at Kearys Cork, there was an issue with the AirCon that they failed to recharge. They told us not to worry and they would solve it at a later date. They never called us to fix it.
When we finally brought it in (pushed by the heatwave), they found the AirCon (since they had sold it to us) had some broken parts (not just a lack of recharging); the salesman told us they would look into it and then they asked for close to 1000€ to fix what they told us not to worry about in the first place.
Absolutely shameful, and a betrayal of customer trust. My family and I are Hyundai aficionados, but there is no chance we will bring our custom to Kearys in the future.

Customer service is bad

Customer service is bad. Got in-touch with them from there fb ad. I rang them 5 times before somebody answered over a 6 day period of trying. Finally spoke to Derek . He asked me to send pics etc of the van I wanted to trade in. 4 days later I asked him as he any news. He said he was waiting on the guys !!!! To send him a trade in price for my van. This is going into 9 days now at this stage. I sent him 4 or 5 messages via what’s app, he read my messages but couldn’t be bothered to answer me.

Booked car in for service

Booked car in for service, arrived with car asked lady to get rear brake pads replaced, and was quoted €180 per hour labour only and it would take two hours labour at a massive rip off cost of €360.00 just for LABOUR ONLY WITHOUT PARTS,I left with my car, this service department is a rip off, or else the female receptionist hasn't a clue about the motor trade, be careful of these vultures.

Excellent experience

I recently spent time car shopping in Kearys. I have to say my experience was excellent. Right after the first trip Brendan got finance approved. Aonghus was brilliant to deal with and gave us lots of time and options. In the end the car we wanted was not available but regardless I would highly recommend Kearys.

Dacia Duster Purchased From Kearys Belgard

We recently bought a Dacia Duster and couldn't be happier with both the car and the service we received. From the moment we arrived, everyone was friendly, welcoming and happy to answer any questions we had, making the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable.

A special thank you to Cian, Craig and Darren, who went above and beyond to help us throughout the process. They were professional, knowledgeable and patient, keeping us informed every step of the way and making sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Their excellent customer service really made a difference and made us feel valued as customers.

We would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new car. Thank you again to Cian, Craig and Darren for all your help—we're delighted with our new Dacia Duster!

Avoid this vacuous kip at all costs.

I have purchased two new, high-spec Dacia vehicles (in 2022 and 2025), both of which developed ongoing electrical faults within the first month of ownership.

Every issue has been met with complete indifference. The staff are entirely uninterested in helping customers once the sale has been completed. Phone calls routinely go unanswered—I have personally stood in the dealership and watched reception staff ignore ringing phones. You will eventually (after a few unanswered phonecalls) be contacted by a bot on watsapp that asks for information and then seemingly sends it into a black hole, because the staff at Keary's claim they don't get that information from the bot, it goes to some head office somewhere (Probably Yemen).

Whenever either vehicle has been returned for repairs, arranging a courtesy car has been an ordeal, they'll always just answer you smart arsed "Did you book a car?", arguing that they don't answer phones to request said car is met with a dismissive glare. It doesnt seem to cross their minds that a brand new car, being left in for a repair, the owner may need a replacement for work/kids etc. A basic level of customer service appears to be treated as an unreasonable request.

The staff are remarkably attentive while you're purchasing a vehicle or discussing an upgrade. Once the paperwork is signed, however, that enthusiasm evaporates, watsapps go unanswered despite being read, sales rep goes on holidays or leaves so youre just left ignored.

Unfortunately, I am tied into a PCP agreement that originated with another dealership which subsequently closed, leaving me with no choice but to deal with this branch. This is a mistake I will not be making again as I will not be renewing the PCP agreement once it ends.

I would strongly advise anyone considering buying or servicing a vehicle here to look elsewhere. The dealership is more concerned with appearances than customer care. On more than one occasion, sales staff seemed far more interested in taking photographs for their instagram of themselves than assisting customers who were left standing around waiting for help.
Cars are meant to be a convenience, especially a brand new car. There is nothing conveninent about dealing with this shower of Donkeys.

This has been, without question, the worst customer service experience I have encountered from a main dealer. Two new cars, persistent faults, repeated visits for repairs, and a level of customer care that ranges from indifferent to outright dismissive. I cannot recommend this dealership under any circumstances.

Breach of GDPR

Myself and my husband attended Kearys earlier this week. We spoke with Shane, he valued our car that we were planning on trading in and informed us that he thought the steering was “heavy” so it wouldn’t be much much!

We proceeded to pick out a car to match our budget and filled in the appropriate paperwork then we left it at that and gave a small deposit and left.

He emailed my husband approx 2 hours later stating that we would need a lot more paperwork for the application. It felt like a lot and a bit personal so we decided not to go ahead with the application.

I myself went into Shane around 4pm and spoke with him and informed him that we wouldn’t be proceeding with the application as we felt like it too much personal information was needed and that I would take the deposit back for the car we gave, he tried to talk me out of it but eventually got it back on my card. I asked him to shred the application as it had the usual address PPS number on it and obviously didn’t want it kept on file. I asked him if he had put the other paperwork to the bank and he said no.

Today we recieved letters for myself and my husband from the bank stating we weren’t successful which was fine but I had asked him if they had sent it to which he replied no. Myself and my husband are not happy regarding this since we asked him not to proceed with the application which he obviously did as we got the letters from the bank today.

Absolutely shocking to be honest and I would avoid!!!

Factual Review Kearys -BYD/Xpeng - West Dublin - Tallaght

Factual Review – Keary’s BYD/Xpeng (Tallaght / West Dublin)

I had a hugely disappointing experience with Keary’s BYD/Xpeng dealership in Tallaght during an attempted purchase of a brand-new XPENG G6. Two serious issues arose that, in my view, indicate a lack of basic accuracy and reliability.

First, after paying a €1,000 deposit and progressing well into the purchase, I was informed at a very late stage (close to collection) that the vehicle specification had been recorded/advertised incorrectly (it was initially treated as Standard Range, then flagged as Long Range during preparation). I was informed this may occur because the two vehicles “look similar”. Given this was a brand-new car, it is particularly concerning that the correct specification was not confirmed earlier.

Second, after the deal had been agreed and I was expecting the sale to complete, the dealership stated they could not honour the agreed price once the higher specification was identified, and proposed options that would have required me to pay substantially more to get the same car. An alternative vehicle was mentioned, but it was not brand new, not the car I had viewed or agreed to purchase and did not address the fact that the original agreement was not honoured.

Overall, the process wasted a significant amount of time and created avoidable stress because key details were wrong and the agreed sale was not followed through. I proceeded to purchase an EV charger in good faith on the basis of an agreement that was not honoured.

I would strongly advise anyone considering buying here to verify the exact vehicle specification and full pricing, in writing, from the start. I would also advise caution about relying on any agreement until the car is in your possession as the agreement was not honoured in my instance.

For completeness, I have submitted the details of this experience to the CCPC and SIMI for their records.

AVOID kearys Belgard

Called into kearys Belgard to test drive a new Dacia, didn't really love the model so wanted to think about it, felt kind of pressured to leave a small deposit and it would be refunded if I decided not to buy, well the amount of calls and texts to try get my money has been a joke, every time told someone will ring me back. I think I'm finally getting my refund but I'm so glad I did not buy from them, instead I bought from a small dealer and got 5 star service from start to finish, I had a lucky escape with these clowns.

€20k+ spent on a car

€20k+ spent on a car, and this is the aftersales support you get: silence.

Avoid their Belgard Road, Renault dealership — and be very careful if you expect any aftersales support.

I bought a 2022 Renault Arkana from them in January 2025 with 23,000 km. After less than 8,000 km of driving, it failed its NCT due to defective shock absorbers at just 31,000 km. That is not “wear and tear” — it’s a premature failure.

Instead of standing over the car, they’ve quoted €800 for the repair and charged me €170 for an unnecessary diagnostic, despite having the NCT report clearly identifying the fault.

The car is still under manufacturer warranty until 2027. For context, the fuel pump also failed just one month after purchase — yet this dealership refuses to acknowledge any issue.

Most concerning of all: I have sent three formal emails and have been completely ignored. No reply. No acknowledgement. Nothing — including from General Manager Aidan Heary, who has failed to respond to direct communication.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, a vehicle must be of satisfactory quality and durable. A major suspension failure at 31,000 km clearly does not meet that standard.

This is now being escalated further, including to the CCPC, and I will continue to share this experience publicly until it is properly resolved.

If this is how customers are treated after the sale, you should seriously reconsider buying here.
