my advice is simple don't deposit in this bank more than you can afford to lose, I deposited a check 4 months ago, but it's not yet available each time I call there's another excuse as to why it's not been released or resolved I did take any step they requested and it's still not released or returned to issuer, at this point they claim it was returned to the issuer a month ago but it's still not returned as per the issuer, they claim they are an FDIC regulated bank it doesn't seem to me that it is

Philippians call centers! KeyBank will steal your money!

Key banks call center is now in the Philippians! The hold electronic music will make you ready to break things. If you were not already agitated you will be. I transferred money from three accounts to prepare to close them... deposits were there and then sent back to key bank. Cannot get a good answer as to why, but at the time all looked good and closed them. Key bank sent a paper check for one but now cannot find the other two! They have taken my money. All transactions occurred within minutes of the other. I have called twice, no call back on the first one and over 20 minutes of hold to get transferred to a US supervisor. It has been over a week! I am coming to the belief all banks are evil.... thank you to the government.

The worst bank in America

The worst bank in America. After loosing my job Key Bank set me up with a plan to keep my perfect payment history. Yet, even after making all the regular agreed-upon payments, they reported to my credit I had never paid in months. This company is the worst. They don’t give two nickels about you as a person. They want to see people ruined. Thanks key bank for ruining my credit score

Never open an account with Key Bank

Terrible customer service. Had a charge I did not authorize overdraft my account. I contacted customer service to have the purchase removed from my statement and refunded to my account. I was told they could do nothing about it, so I stopped the report to cut my loss. I checked in with my account later the same day to find I was charged a service fee from customer service even though they had told me tough luck, and I hadn't received the satisfactory help I requested. This second charge over drafted my account once again, and started the cycle for over draft fees. It took three more associates in the cs department, and a crisis resources agent to revoke the fees this bank tried to sneak in. I genuinely hate this company. Every person I talked to was soulless, none of them were willing to help. This company made a simple problem wayyyy worse than it needed to be. I have since opened an account with a rivaling bank and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Scammed $300 Offer open Checking Account

I wanted to open up a checking and savings account at key bank located at front street Binghamton Nrw York. On my phone it said $300 offer to open checking account. I showed the guy the offer $300. He promised me this. Time passed called 1800 number at key bank speaking to customer service she said I am only going to get $200. On the phone immediately called the Binghamton branch I was told it would be fixed. Then I started to talk to the branch manager his name is Mr James Clingerman he promised me i would get the $100 put in my checking account in 10 days. He said it was there fault and I will get this missing money. Numerous phone calls to Mr Clingerman the branch manager promises me all the time he is going to get it fixed its been almost 3 months and he promises me this money to me now I have come to the conclusion he has been jerking me around all this time. I have contacted corporate they ignore my complaints so needless to say this is not a very good bank. So I would not recommend this bank. Now I feel like a complete fool gullable listening to the Branch Manager. The sad part is I was going to have my son and a friend open up accounts with key bank then I told them my horrible experience with them so they told me they do not want to do business with key bank the way I look at it its there loss.

Do not bank with key bank

If I could give a zero I would I deposit a cashiers check at this bank that I was told should only take 5 business days, I have the deposit available but they are restricted me to my money because they want to know where the money came from. So because someone is noisey in the fraud department they will grant you to your own money when they feel like it. This bank is crap and I wish I never did business with this bank Full waring do not bank at any key bank especially if you had a parent pass away and left tou something

No to KeyBank !

We previously had an account with KeyBank but decided to leave due to their extensive fees. However, when we were offered a substantial opening bonus, we decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing once again.

When there was a question about one of our transactions, our account was placed on hold. Despite our efforts to get clarification, we were repeatedly redirected between departments, each unable to provide answers. In the end, our account, including a CD we had, was closed without resolution by them. We were very frustrated by the lack of support and communication. Based on our experience, we would not recommend KeyBank.

I WAS a key bank customer for over 20…

I WAS a key bank customer for over 20 years and most of the time things were ok. After I became disabled (work related) the entire way they treated me became real bad, fast! I had an account that would gain interest and make a nice profit over 5 years. However the company would give me a hard time getting info about my account online about 60% of the time. I warned them I was going to withdraw ALL my $$ if they kept it up. I waited until my account made well over the mature amount and asked for all my funds to be sent to the Niagara Falls Blvd. branch. I asked this because the person that set up my account said a lot of money was going to be taken from my account. I went to the bank, got all my money and look him right in the face and said "you said you wanted to see my face when I got the check, so here I am". For some strange reason he couldn't even look at me? The teller (she) was very mad I was taking all my money out, but I smiled, took the checked and will NEVER do business with or recommend KEY Bank to anyone!!

Don't bank here unless you know you can pay

I'm going to try to say it loud enough for the people in the back to hear... READ THE REVIEWS AND DON'T BANK HERE.

I started a checking account and a "credit builder" account with keybank at a time when I really thought I would be okay to do so. The "line of credit" for the credit builder was $500. It wasn't money I ever received to do use or anything. It was simply a way to make a low monthly payment and build my credit up.

Welp! Life being life, I hit a pretty big low at the beginning of 2024 and wasn't able to make that low monthly payment.

Not only does keybank not have a way to help you if you're struggling, they HOUND you, every single day, if you're even a few days past due. They don't have a way to suspend your payments, ON AN ACCOUNT YOU NEVER EVEN GOT MONEY FROM, or allow you a grace period to get caught up.

This account was supposed to be helpful and instead has been an absolute nightmare. They tack on fees to your account too so instead of just owing for the simple "credit builder" You're now paying out the $%^ for something you were hoping would improve your situation... never even spent a dime of the line of credit. Why in God's name is it like having a kidney removed to pay this thing back?! Makes no sense... I learned my lesson... won't be back once this thing is done.

Bye Keybank, forever, you're horrible in every way

Yeah, no. Never again. Where to begin...
I had a checking account with them (no savings), I checked the balance and $5/mo (plus some other kind of small fee). Hadn't checked my balance for a while.

I called them, they told me to come in person. I wait (my branch is severely understaffed with knowledgeable people). So I wait in line, then they said I have to make an appointment to talk to anyone that knows anything about it.

I scheduled an appt. I went, guy not there, apparently no one else can help me.? Same thing, this time there were 3 people waiting for him at MY appt time. Finally, get to someone who knows something. He told me since I don't have a Savings Acct then they charge monthly fees. So, I get a savings account.

Fees did NOT stop. So... same thing all over. I was in person and he said that I hadn't connected Savings/Checking. So, I asked him to do it, but apparetnly I had to call coroporate. Soooo about 6 months of fees. And they would NOT credit them back to me.

After spending hours waiting for corporate, I AGAIN had to go to the branch in-person to show ID. Funnier now. My savings got auto-closed for lack of usage (maintenance fees), so, more monthly fees. No email, no mail, no call, no text. Fees still going on. They were sooo clueless at the branch that we ended up having to close all accounts and re-open new ones (I had to due to a direct deposit). They said the acct# would be the same as before. It wasn't. Now, I've missed to direct deposits.

Every time I go in, they hate having to work. They don't give you eye contact because they don't want to be troubled.

That is just ONE of my issues with them. (quick one, you can pay your credit card in the app, or online, or phone, so I have to go in each time.

Worst Bank Ive ever done business with…

Worst bank to ever do business with never, again. I made a payment online and then got an email notice from key saying this transaction needed to be completed. I went on a second time ended up making another payment. Then I realized both payments went through but still got another message from key stating that my transaction wasn't complete. I called Key Bank, spoke to a woman and all I got was I'M SORRY. I was told I have to wait till both transactions clear before they can do anything, so in the meantime, I have to bounce my payments before they will help. What banking system doesn't have a CANCEL TRANSACTION BUTTON. All other on-line facilities OFFER that feature and don't screw you over like Key just did to me!

Key bank gives customers money to fraudulent business for 6 months and has no common sense

This review is based on their fraud department. In Feb 2024 I supposedly ordered from BrowseBrooklyn the following:
85” tv
Tri cycle
iPhone 13
Massager

All of that total of 54.00
A track number key says was delivered in February

1. Since when can you buy an iPhone for 54$
2.since when do you buy an 85”tv for 54$

Since when does an 85” tv get shipped in the same box with a tricycle and an iPhone ?

Common sense says you can not buy an 85”tv or an iphine13 for 54$ but key bank obviously has no common sense when it comes to the cost or price of merchandise which is very scary thinking this is a bank with our money .

Next,
How do you put a tricycle and an 85”tv in the same box with an iPhone ??

Key bank doesn’t understand these types of items are never shipped together in the same box because the tricycle will damage the TV

That means there had to be more than one track number to get these big items in the mail there should be at least two but more likely three boxes which means 3 track numbers.

The track number provided has no information available when you search it which means it’s a fraudulent track number

Key bank is dumb enough to let this company keep my money for 6 months and sides w the fraudulent company .

Key did not research the track number nor use common sense when understanding large items like an 85” tv would never ship w a tricycle and iPhone nor would an iPhone 13 or 85” tv ever cost only 54 combined.

It doesn’t get any more ignorant! &

It’s time to change banks!

Everything is hard here

Everything is hard here. Need to make a deposit? go into an office and sit down for 5 minutes. Need to close an account, good luck finding the person who actually knows how to do it, and even then you will have to make about 5 attempts at closing it. By far the worst bank I have ever dealt with, and as someone who has owned multiple businesses, I've experienced a lot of them.
