My dream car was kia stinger
Yeah that’s right, not bugatti, roll-royce, muscle cars, or beloved in my country bmw. I was quite realistical, considering our custom fees and how it’s hard to buy something which is not chinese powerbank or doesn’t start with chev and ends with rolet. Stinger has a cool interior, nice roaring sound and more or less not consuming - a turbo engine. The availability of a service center and official warranty, helped to make my decision.
Didn’t regret about my purchase, but major drawback is only 95 petrol, quite expensive in my country, not as affordable as 92.
Everyday use car
I had an experience with two kia models: k5 and sportage. Good card for everyday use, not too fancy to have a high maintenance, but too boring and lack of innovation, to complain about the car. Golden average. Their sports cars which I see only stinger in that category, not worthy, turbo motors didn’t make the impact as they should.
But everyday cars why not. The price to quality ratio is good. Not overpriced like Toyota. In my country it’s the problem that people are dying from toyotas when there is cheaper version available with the same qulaity. 100km not yet an issue
Their warranty is all lies!!
Everyone in my household drives a Kia, including a 2024 Sportage that’s not even 2 years old — and already the headlights are deteriorating and peeling. This is NOT something that should happen to a vehicle this new.
I brought it to the dealer and was told it’s not replaceable because it’s an “outside influence.” I then contacted Kia directly, opened a claim, and was told the service district manager (Nick Verna) would look into it. Nothing was done.
This is a joke. Kia brags about their warranty, but when it comes time to actually honor it, all you get is the runaround. This isn’t the first warranty issue I’ve had, and every time it’s the same story: excuses and no coverage.
I was considering staying with Kia after our leases were up, but now the decision is clear: never again. I would never recommend Kia to anyone. Their “industry-leading warranty” is nothing but false promises.
Kia, you’ve lost my trust.
Title: Catalytic Converter Failed at 89K – Kia Refused Warranty
I’m sharing my experience with a 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid that showed a P0420 code (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold) at just 78,000 miles. I immediately visited the dealership, but the check engine light had turned off during inspection. I was told to return when it came back. By the time it did, the mileage had reached 89,000—and Kia refused to cover the $6,235.12 repair, citing the 80,000-mile warranty limit.
The vehicle is registered under my wife’s name, but I’m the one who drives it daily, handles all service visits, and submitted the complaint myself. Kia’s response was simply that the warranty had expired, with no goodwill adjustment or technical review—even though the issue was first reported before the warranty limit.
This is extremely disappointing. Catalytic converters in Toyota and Hyundai hybrids typically last well beyond 150,000 miles. Kia’s refusal to acknowledge this premature failure feels unfair and dismissive.
If anyone else has faced similar issues, please share your experience. I’m currently escalating the matter to the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General.
Everything is plastic, terrible quality. Do not buy any Kia
Car drives okay at best.. everything is squeaky on the inside, it may look slightly nice but nothing actually is. A majority of everything on the 2025 k5 is plastic.. bumper rubbed a parking block and ripped half of my bumper off.. was just held on by a few tiny little clips. Just overall not happy with it. Especially for 35k I could’ve got a Toyota that’s a lot higher quality.. will never be buying a Kia again.
Garbage rolling off the assembly line
If I could leave a review on here it would be this:
If I could put less than one star I would. They would hands down be a -5 star rating. I bought my 2020 Kia Telluride last year. I come to find out that it burns through oil. Upon further research I read countless stories of others having the same exact issue that is affecting me. The common denominator in all this is Kia’s response. They refuse to have any accountability it the shoddy vehicles they put out. I have been dealing with customer service for three days now and they are a joke. All they care about it the money they have and not about the quality they send out to consumers. Kia, do better. Where is our recall? Why must we fight for this? Do the right thing and have integrity. I guarantee you company handbook has a whole section on integrity, service, quality and ethics. Maybe you need to reread that.
If you are vehicle shopping do NOT buy a Kia
If you are vehicle shopping, DO NOT buy a KIA!
I am not one to speak out, and I had hoped Kia would step up and do the right thing. However, I have gotten no relief from Kia Customer Care (they have ghosted me) and Safford Kia of Fredericksburg has been horrible. Between having us put close to 3000 miles on our vehicle only to find that the oil consumption we were experiencing was “satisfactory for KIA” and would not be covered by their “wonderful” warranty, and then accusing me of removing the “seat belt mount prior to service” when they inspected my SEATBELT THAT PULLED OUT OF THE CAR FRAME AT THE BASE. (I’ve never heard of such a thing!) They were going to charge me to check the status of the other seatbelts in the vehicle.
Although it is a 2018, our Sorento only has 76000 miles on it (after they made us put the extra 3000 miles on it to check the oil consumption issue). Has my family been riding around with faulty seatbelts this whole time? KIA doesn’t care. From my experience, they do not stand behind their product and do not care about their customer’s safety in their product.
Just to top off the story, I approached the manager at the dealership and explained to him that I do not feel safe in this vehicle anymore. He quickly offered to make it right and offered us $4000 cash for it! OR, we could trade it in for a whopping $7500 and buy a brand new KIA! He then went on to explain that the newer vehicles are made SO much better than the older ones. And they have a GREAT WARRANTY! Been there, done that. No thank you.
(Just another thing....we have also had to have the Fuel Pump replaced since it developed a crack in it. )
My advice to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle….do NOT buy a KIA.
Don’t buy a Kia
Don’t buy a Kia , motor transmission, not reliable
I have never disliked a car as much as…
I have never disliked a car as much as my 2024 Kia Niro Wind. There are simply too many complaints, but the drive is the big one. Some controls with the steering wheel make you feel like you're in a Waymo—you have little control. The dash is the silliess thing ever designed—look at video, you'll see. And it's only been eight months and there is a recall. I solemnly swear I will never buy Kia again.
Requested action on oil use on my Kia…
Requested action on oil use on my Kia sorrento. They are aware there’s a problem. A tech svc bul is out but they say industry standards says it’s ok to use up a quart in 1000 miles. So how is that ok if they have a t s b out ? Just because they say it doesn’t make it right
ReviewsKia America warranty experience
I’m extremely disappointed in how Kia America has handled my warranty claim for a seized engine in my 2017 Kia Sportage.
Despite following their procedures and working with a certified dealership, my vehicle has been sidelined for over a month while the warranty claim drags on without resolution. I’ve spent nearly $2,000 in rental expenses, and the back-and-forth between Kia and the dealership has been both confusing and frustrating.
Kia’s communication has been inconsistent. At one point, I was told my claim was denied—only to later discover it was still under review. I performed several oil changes myself and provided documentation, but it’s unclear whether Kia considers or fairly evaluates DIY maintenance, even when it’s done properly.
As a long-time customer, I expected more accountability, clearer guidance, and a sense of urgency. Instead, I’ve experienced delays, vague responses, and a lack of transparency that undermines trust in the brand.
Kia promotes its 10-year/100,000-mile warranty as a selling point—but in practice, honoring that warranty has proven to be a slow and discouraging process. I’m sharing this in hopes that others will proceed with caution and keep thorough records if they plan to rely on Kia’s warranty support.
Kia works with shady repo company
I paid off my car loan in full, yet my vehicle is being held by a shady repo lot you hired. They won’t answer calls or emails, and I’ve been forced to wait days just to schedule pickup.
I’m being threatened with extra storage fees — none of which were disclosed. Your company is responsible for the vendors you work with. I’ve emailed and received no help.
I’m working with legal counsel and am prepared to escalate this to the Illinois Attorney General. Kia, I expected better.

I feel scammed
I feel scammed. I’m still paying for a car that burns oil every month. I was sold a "perfect" vehicle 3 years ago, and now they want me to pay for engine repairs. No trade-in, no buyback. Just bills. Please help me resolve this. #Kia #FrustratedCustomer
I purchased a 2021 KIA Seltos on April…
I purchased a 2021 KIA Seltos on April 13 and the engine failed on May 5, 2025. KIA USA has been a nightmare to deal with. No rental car support and no estimate on a new engine. 13600 miles on the vehicle. Buyer beware.
This is the worse automobile made on…
This is the worse automobile made on the market. I am unsure of why I thought this was a great purchase decision but IT WAS NOT.
CONS:
1. Kia salespeople and finance just want your money.
The 100K mile warranty which you think you're getting you're not. Here is what they don't tell you. The only way the so called 100K warranty is honored is if the car is in YOUR name only. I put my business as the main borrower and myself as the co borrower.
2. I was sold the car under the pretenses of having a 100K power train warranty and the sold additional Platinum Warranty to cover everything that wasn't covered under the 100k or 60/5 warranty. OR SO I THOUGHT. I did put lots of miles on my car but stayed up on my PM.
3. At 84K the transmisson went out. So I'll say this unless you are leasing these vehicles and turning them back in every two years. DO NOT PURCHASE this crap car. Their warranties aren't true warranties and they break way too easily. I don't care if I had 90K miles on the vehicle a transmission should not have went out. Especially since automotive 101 tells you not to even service the transmission until the care hits 100k or unless there are issues.
Pros.
Cute on the ouside.
Steer clear of this vehicle again unless you are leasing and returning
I have a 21 Seltos @ 63k my engine blew…
I have a 21 Seltos @ 63k my engine blew up. No check engine light, no oil light, nothing. I was 5 1/2 hours from home on vacation. I had to pay for the tow out of pocket due to mileage. They replaced my motor and thankfully bc I was the original owner I didn't have to pay for it. They gave me contacts for kia customer care to be reimbursed for the rental I had to pay $800 for bc the rental places wanted to to bring the car back not take it to another state but that wasn't an option. They kept my car for 2-3 weeks so I definitely wasn't going to be able to afford keeping the rental that long either. Kia Customer Care has been a nightmare. I sent the information they needed for reimbursement, but now it has been almost 2 months. They don't respond to emails and if you call they just put you on hold and forget you exist.
I’ve had the worst experience with Kia
I’ve had the worst experience with Kia, from the dealership all the way to corporate and Consumer Affairs. The level of customer service is appalling, and the lack of respect shown to their clients is truly unbelievable.
My Kia Sorento was at the dealership from January to April. I had to go through mediation with Kia via the BBB Auto Line just to get repairs done that were supposed to be covered under warranty. After multiple issues, I finally got my car back in April, only to find the windshield cracked, which occurred while the car was in the dealership’s possession.
Now, almost two months later, I’m still waiting for a reimbursement that was agreed upon during the mediation. I’ve had to call Kia Consumer Affairs weekly, and every time I’m told that my case manager, Jeremy, will get back to me. He never does. I only received one email from him last week requesting some documents, and that’s the only communication I've had.
From the dealership to corporate, this company has been a complete disappointment. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly urge you: never buy a Kia.
Don’t fall for the Kia Crap!
Own a total lemon and KIA AMERICA couldn’t care less! They will do NOTHING to help with their defective car. If zero was an option I would have selected that!
Kia knowingly sells cars with bad…
Kia knowingly sells cars with bad motors then makes up reasons why the warranty won't cover a new engine
2021 Kia Telluride Faulty Motor Issue
2021 Kia Telluride Faulty Motor Issue. Without a vehicle almost a month. Still waiting on rental reimbursment that Kia MOtors states takes 45-60 day to send to you after you have to pay for it for a warranty issue.
