Avoid this nursery at all costs.

Avoid this nursery at all costs.

In my experience, many of the staff appeared to be inadequately trained, and morale was extremely low. It was clear that staff were unhappy with the manager’s attitude and the way they were treated.

What concerned me most was feeling misled about the safety of my child. As a parent, nothing is more important than knowing your child is being cared for in a safe and supportive environment.

Unfortunately, my overall impression was that the nursery placed greater importance on making money than on the wellbeing of the children. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this nursery.

Ignored. Disregarded. Disrespected. Disappointed.

I write with regard to your vague response to my original post which highlighted our grave concerns and issues. Strangely enough, your Operations Manager has opted to ignore my recent emails; however (now I have brought this in to the public domain) you are asking me to contact you to discuss things further? Funny that.

You state that you have “robust safeguarding procedures” in place but have still failed to explain why an untrained member of staff was alone with children in the toilets, despite telling us that this should not be happening. Interesting.

I also challenge your statement regarding not “covering up” instances regarding welfare and safeguarding and encourage you to choose your words wisely as it alludes to you suggesting WE are now lying! So for clarification:

•Are you refuting the fact that your branch Manager first told us that they had reviewed the CCTV and there were no instances of said member of staff in the toilet with our child?

• Subsequently, are you also refuting the fact that we were then told by another member of staff that this information was FALSE and that there WAS indeed CCTV footage showing the staff member in the toilet with our child?

I would like to remind you that we have emails from your staff that confirm what I am saying as correct and true.

Can you confirm what measures have been taken and what the outcome of your investigations are? The manager who knowingly misguided us is still in employment, no? We still haven't had a version of events relayed to us from your trainee either so is that another attempt to cover things up or just a total disregard for our complaint?

Given the fact we cannot now confidently allow our child to be in your nursery because of this debacle, do you still take the stance that you haven’t broken our trust along with any safeguarding protocols as set out in our agreement?

Hi Mr Jones,

We are sorry that you remain dissatisfied. As previously explained, we cannot publicly comment on or debate matters relating to an individual child, family, staff member, CCTV or safeguarding investigations, as we have a legal and professional obligation to maintain confidentiality. We take all safeguarding concerns extremely seriously and deal with them appropriately. Our position on this matter remains unchanged.

Avoid at all costs if your child’s…

Avoid at all costs if your child’s safety is your highest priority.

My two-year-old granddaughter attended the Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill branch in Essex, starting in March 2026.

Shortly after she started on the 2nd April 2026 a serious incident occurred. During outdoor play, she was able to crawl underneath a fence into the car park leading to a busy main road without staff noticing. We were told that staff only realised she was missing when she returned through the same gap a few minutes later.

What concerned us just as much as the incident itself was how it was handled. Her parents were not informed immediately; they were told about it at collection time. They felt the incident was presented in a matter-of-fact way, with reassurance that she had returned unharmed, rather than with the seriousness they expected.

Every parent expects their child’s safety and wellbeing to be the highest priority. In our opinion, the circumstances of this incident and the response afterwards did not reflect that standard.

We understand that, at the time, the nursery had a relatively high staff-to-child ratio because it had only recently opened and was not yet at full capacity. That makes the incident even more concerning to us.

I am not writing this to alarm people unnecessarily, but to share what happened to our family and to encourage other parents to ask detailed questions about safety measures and supervision before making a decision.

There were other issues during our experience, but they are insignificant compared with this one, so I have not included them here.

When concerns were raised, we were told that if we were unhappy we should report the matter to the relevant authorities or the police. We found that response disappointing. We had hoped to see greater accountability and a clear commitment to ensuring that an incident like this could never happen again.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend this nursery. If I could have given zero stars, I would have.

Hi Christine,

We are sorry to read that you remain dissatisfied with your experience.

The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is, and always will be, our highest priority. Whenever any incident involving a child’s safety occurs, it is taken extremely seriously. We have established safeguarding procedures, investigate incidents thoroughly, and take appropriate action to review and strengthen our practices where necessary.

As an early years provider, we are unable to comment on the specific circumstances of an individual child or family in a public forum, as we have a duty to protect the confidentiality of all children in our care. For that reason, we cannot address many of the claims made in this review.

We recognise that parents rightly expect the highest standards of care and supervision, and we remain committed to maintaining those standards through ongoing staff training, regular risk assessments, and continual review of our policies and procedures.

We remain willing to discuss any outstanding concerns privately and constructively.

Amazing place to work

I have worked for Kids Inc for the past seven years, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience from the very beginning. This was my first role in a nursery setting, and I initially joined the team on a part-time basis. From day one, I felt welcomed, supported, and encouraged, which helped me quickly develop a real passion for childcare.
Throughout my journey with Kids Inc, I have been given fantastic opportunities to learn, grow, and progress in my career. With the support of the amazing team around me, I successfully completed my Level 3 qualification, gaining valuable knowledge and confidence in my role. The encouragement and guidance I received enabled me to continue developing professionally, and I am proud to have progressed to the position of Deputy Manager.
One of the things that makes Kids Inc such a great place to work is the people. We have an incredible team of dedicated, caring, and passionate professionals who genuinely want the best for both the children and each other. There is a strong sense of teamwork and support, and everyone is encouraged to share ideas, develop new skills, and reach their full potential.
I am especially grateful for our outstanding training team, who work to provide ongoing learning opportunities and support for staff at every stage of their careers. Their commitment to professional development has played a huge role in my own progression and continues to help many others achieve their goals.
Looking back on the last seven years, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities Kids Inc has given me and the amazing people I have met. It has not only helped me build a successful career in childcare but has also allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. I look forward to continuing my journey with such a supportive and inspiring organisation and would highly recommend Kids Inc to anyone looking for a fulfilling career in childcare.

After nearly 14 years with Kids Inc

After nearly 14 years with Kids Inc, it's safe to say that I feel like part of the family. Throughout my time with the company, I have been supported across a variety of roles and branches, and I have had the privilege of watching the organisation grow, flourish, and evolve. I am incredibly grateful to have been part of that journey.

Having read some of the other reviews, I personally cannot relate to the negativity that has been expressed. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

Having worked closely with the senior leadership team and directors over many years, I have always felt that my voice is heard and that my opinions are valued. Whenever support is needed—whether it's advice, guidance, practical help, or simply a wellbeing conversation—there is always someone available at the end of the phone.

The three directors have been there through many of the significant milestones in my life. They have supported me through difficult times, offering compassion when I have experienced loss, and have celebrated my achievements and successes alongside me. They have genuinely been invested in both my personal and professional journey.

While clear targets and challenges are in place to keep employees motivated and focused, there is also an extensive training academy that provides excellent opportunities for learning, growth, and career development. The company actively encourages professional progression and equips its staff with the tools and support needed to succeed.

More recently, my current branch underwent a full extension, and I have been incredibly fortunate to be involved in the project from the very beginning. From reviewing the initial plans to helping design the layout of the rooms, it has been rewarding to see the vision come to life. Every aspect of the extension has been carefully considered to support the children's development and wellbeing, creating an environment that offers the very best nursery experience possible.

Overall, Kids Inc has provided me with a rewarding, supportive, and fulfilling career. I am proud to have been part of the team for so many years and look forward to seeing the company continue to grow and succeed in the future.

Amazing, friendly, supportive and inclusive

I have had a truly amazing experience with Kids Inc Nurseries as both parent & employee.
Not only have I had 2 children attend Kids Inc Bluewater I have worked with the company for 15 years and I couldn’t be happier.
The nursery my children attended is amazing, staff are friendly, passionate and dedicated to ensuring every child has the very best start. Both my children started at 9 months and left when they were 4 years old. They both thrived and were so happy at the nursery. One of my children has additional needs and everyone at the nursery and within the company couldn’t have been more supportive while my daughter was at the nursery as well as with helping me get my child what she needed for her next adventure to primary school.
As an employee I have had the pleasure of working here since I left college 15 years ago and have worked alongside the most amazing, caring, compassionate team. The directors, operational director and the senior management team have given me nothing but support and guidance through my career and for that I am extremely grateful. Working for such an amazing company has given me so many opportunities and I’m very lucky to be working for people who genuinely care and want nothing but the best for each and every child and family.
Thank you for such a lovely, happy experience all round for both myself and my children.
I am excited to continue my career with such an amazing team.

Avoid!

Based on the number of reviews already posted here, I felt it was only fair to leave a more detailed account, as many of them are understandably quite vague.

The issues within this company have been highlighted repeatedly, not only here but across multiple review platforms. Anyone considering joining is welcome to look for themselves. The same concerns continue to be raised time and time again, yet they appear to be consistently ignored, dismissed or denied.

I worked at Kids Inc for a relatively short period, and my experience was nothing short of dreadful. One director is extraordinarily hot and cold, meaning you never quite know where you stand, whilst the other comes across as simply rude. The Operations Manager appears to believe she runs the entire company and is, frankly, exceptionally difficult to work with.

There is a serious culture of gossiping and complaining about colleagues. If you are not considered a favourite, your chances of lasting there are slim. Favouritism is rife and impossible to ignore. Much of the dysfunction stems from the arrogance of senior staff, many of whom seem incapable of accepting that they may be mistaken. More often than not, concerns are turned back on employees, leaving them feeling as though they are the problem.

During my time there, morale was remarkably low. Virtually everyone seemed unhappy, and it was commonplace for staff to openly discuss their desire to leave the company.

There is also an expectation that employees arrive early and leave late. This additional time is not compensated; it is simply expected by those higher up the chain.

Given the number of previous reviews raising exactly the same concerns, one would hope that some degree of reflection or self-awareness might have taken place by now. However, I have little doubt that this review will receive the same predictable response, denying or dismissing what has been said.

At some point, the company needs to stop blaming former employees and start paying attention to the patterns that continue to emerge. The message has been the same for years. It is time to wake up.

I was disappointed with my experience…

I was disappointed with my experience at the Ilford branch of this nursery and wanted to share my feedback to help other parents make an informed decision.

In my experience, the nursery did not provide the level of learning and development I expected for children aged 3 and above. It felt more focused on supervision than structured educational activities. While nursery rhymes were included, I did not see enough engaging learning opportunities or activities suitable for that age group.

I was also concerned at times about how children were supported when they became upset. On some occasions, it seemed that responses to crying children were not always as prompt or reassuring as I would have expected.

I found communication and customer service to be below the standard I had hoped for. Interactions with management felt dismissive at times, and I personally felt that families using the funded 15-hour childcare entitlement were not always treated as positively as others. As this is a government-supported scheme available to eligible families, I believe all parents should feel equally respected and welcomed.

The administrative side was also frustrating. There were occasions when payment requests were unclear, and when I asked for clarification, I did not always receive clear or consistent information. This created unnecessary confusion.

In addition, important updates and key matters were not always communicated clearly or in a timely manner, which made planning difficult as a parent.

Overall, I did not feel this nursery offered good value for money. Based on my personal experience, I would not choose this nursery again and would encourage other parents to carefully consider their options.

Response to the reply from Kids Inc Nurseries:

Hi,

As I mentioned previously, this is not about the fees. Our concerns were mainly related to the following points:

The learning opportunities provided, rather than children only being supervised.
Our experience with how parents were communicated with by the management, particularly parents using government-funded hours.

Whether these concerns are accepted or not is entirely your decision, but as parents, we believe we have every right to share feedback based on our personal experience.

While your response may had focused on fees, I do not feel that this should overshadow the concerns and feedback I have raised regarding our overall experience.

Although this took place in November 2025, I still feel it is important to share my honest experience and feedback.

My feedback is purely based on the experience we had.

Thank you.

Hi Prakash,

We began to apply charges for additional items in 2025 following updates in DfE guidelines and consultations with the local borough. We believe that changes to fees and funding were communicated very clearly to all families. Having reviewed your account, we can see that your fees increased from £0 to £17 per month, and hence you decided to leave in November 2025. We are surprised that you are only now raising the fact that you had any issues. In terms of the care and education that your child received, we refute the allegations that you make. The nursery team are not aware of which children attend on a funded only basis, and which do not, and hence would not be biased in any way.

We would be happy to discuss your comments in more detail and would be grateful if you could contact us on 020 8598 2600. We have a large number of funded only children, both with 15 hours and 30 hours eligibility, and would be happy to accommodate you again on a zero fees basis.

Kind regards,
Kids Inc Nurseries.

Kids Inc is the best 🤩

My daughter attended a Kids Inc nursery for 3 years and absolutely loved it! She thrived in their caring and nurturing environment. The staff are just wonderful. They are kind, knowledgeable, friendly and fun but also ensure the children understand the boundaries and right from wrong.

My daughter has special and additional needs so I was really worried about her starting nursery and me leaving her all day. I did not need to be. The settling in process was so reassuring and I felt they really wanted to get to know not just her and her little ways but also our hopes and expectations for her.

All staff were lovely but I especially want to single out the nursery manager and my daughter’s key person. They were amazing with not just her but us as a family.

She gained so much confidence, independence and knowledge from the nursery. She has taken that into school with her and her teacher actually said she is more school ready and sociable than a lot of the atypical children.

The quality of the environment was no expense spared, you could tell that straight away. For me it wasn’t about that, I wanted a homely, friendly, inclusive environment, which I more than got, so the lovely environment and gardens were such an added bonus.

If you want the best for your child then choose Kids Inc Nurseries - it was the making of Little Miss Sassypants!

Not recommending this place

I normally don’t like leaving negative reviews, but after our experience I feel it’s important for other parents to be aware.

My son attended this nursery for around 7 months and unfortunately he never settled. Every drop-off was extremely difficult and involved constant crying. As parents we expected support and guidance from the staff, but instead the experience often felt very unprofessional.

Communication and feedback about our child were very poor. on the development review, the first questions I received was “what do you want me to tell you?” — which was quite surprising, as staff should be the ones providing insight into a child’s insights and development.

Another concerning moment was when we were advised to stop speaking Spanish at home with our son. This goes against what most child development professionals recommend about supporting bilingual children.

There were also occasions that raised concerns about professionalism. For example, one morning during drop-off a member of staff appeared to be sleeping.

In terms of activities and development, it often felt like structured activities rarely took place, and when they did it seemed more like something done to tick the box for Ofsted rather than genuine engagement with the children.

Dealing with head office was also frustrating. Every time we called we seemed to receive different information depending on who we spoke to, particularly regarding funding, notice periods and leaving the nursery.

The most telling part for us is that after moving our son to another nursery, he settled very quickly and now goes in happily every day. The difference has been huge.

To be honest, this was not one of our best experiences and I regret not moving my son earlier.

Hi Ivan,

We refer to your recent review, dated March 2026.

We were surprised to read your recent comments as you withdrew your child from our nursery in October 2025. At that time, you did not give the one-month notice required under the terms of your nursery contract. The council confirmed that, due to the lack of notice, we did not need to transfer your funding to another nursery. Nevertheless, as per your request, the funding was indeed transferred. Further, we did not charge you the month’s fees that should have been due in lieu of notice. The accounts team were not being difficult, they were merely adhering to our terms and conditions, which you were fully aware of.

We have liaised with the nursery team, and they have confirmed that because your child attended two different nurseries at the same time, he was sometimes confused when he first came in but quickly settled. He was always happy and connected well with both the team and other children. The team gave you regular and consistent feedback, both verbally and through the Famly app. They do not recall you raising any issues during your time with us.

We totally refute that anyone at the nursery advised you not to speak in Spanish to your child. We actively encourage speech and language development in all languages, not just English. For children whose first language is not English, we work closely with families to learn key words to support communication, and we also provide books and resources in a variety of languages.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your comments with you and would encourage you to contact us through our head office on 020 8598 2600 or by emailing info@kidsincnurseries.co.uk.

We wish you the very best for the future.

Great nursery, incompetent accounts team.

I cannot speak highly enough of the nursery itself and the professionalism of the operational staff. However, we feel as though we have been unacceptably let down and disappointed by the conduct of the accounts team at blueberry enterprises Ltd. When we enrolled our son we inquired as to whether we could use a certain workplace benefits package to pay the fees, which would be paid on a certain day of the month. We were told by the accounts team that as long as the payments were made on the charging month it would not be considered as late and would not be an issue. We proceeded in this manner without issue - or so we thought - for 3 months. After this time (which I will note, was enough time for our child to settle and integrate) we began to receive late notices and threats of late fees. Although disappointing, the late fees in the grand scheme of things weren't an issue. What was an issue, was when the accounts team began threatening us with "exclusion" of our child! Who that particular week was struggling with illness that was known to management.

Due to the fact that we believe that in doing so we were acting in the best interests of our child we paid the additional £2000+ that was being demanded (for a month in advance!) so that our son can continue to benefit from the exceptional treatment he receives from the ops team.

We are very disappointed in the handling and timing of this issue and the main reason for this review is to inform any future parents, that may not be in as fortunate position as us to be able to make this type of payment with a days notice, of the treatment of clientele.

Unorganised and lacks transparency

Be careful with this nursery and for parents who have never used a nursery before make sure you ask for a breakdown in cost for 0-2 and 3 and above because they charge you more even with the funded hours. When my child turned 3 her charges more than doubled to what I was paying when she was 2. So ask for everything in writing or email. This nursery is very unorganised and doesn't take responsibility for any mistakes. Do not use this nursery because they are not upfront and honest about what you're paying for.

Choosing the right nursery for my daughter

I was very nervous going back to work and more so as my daughter was only 4 months old at the time. The staff and management team were very supportive and understanding of my worries and requirements for my baby. She is turning two this month and loves nursery so much that she doesn’t want to leave when I collect her in the evenings. I can call throughout the day and I get put straight through to her room so I can speak to the carers directly to see how she’s been doing. Her Tapestry uploads are so lovely, such a nice insight into her day at nursery and seeing her smiling face makes me feel so happy. She eats nutritious meals everyday and the management are very understanding towards my food preferences for her. My daughter's favourite part of the nursery is the garden, it’s a lovely open space and she loves running around and going on the climbing frame. I cannot recommend Kids inc nurseries on York Road enough!
