I have spent almost 2 years trying to get this company to publish and market my book. The signed contract means nothing to them. I have been handed off to numerous "account reps" and each one is worse than the last. Phones numbers are disconnect, emails are not responded and meeting go unattended. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Initially I was contacted and recruited…

Initially I was contacted and recruited heavily by Jimmy WIlliams of Kindle Avenue. I did not contact Kindle Avenue via their web site as they claimed.

At first their was an issue with their software. It was not compatible with my Mac computer. Eventually we found a program that worked. ( Word- shouldn’t they have known that from the onset as professionals?)
Then their was an issue that I was only receiving one edited chapter per week of my 188 chapter manuscript and that was unsatisfactory as at that rate it was going to take very long to complete the edit.
Then suddenly Mr. Williams was mysteriously gone and I was assigned to Sutton Brady. The chapters began getting edited much quicker, however full of errors. It became very time consuming for me to hunt down the errors that they missed and I began to wonder if the manuscript was being edited at all. I requested several times that the edits be done in a different font color, so I could see what they were editing. I also asked for feed back on the manuscript. As I was told that all three edits were included in my contract; Copy Editing,Developmental Editing and Proofreading. After many requests regarding the font color and the feed back and the constant errors I verbally gave Sutton Brady one last chance to fix things, informing her that we would not have this discussion again, and that I would take action if things did not improve.
After seeing no improvement I disputed the charge on my Visa card without giving them notice. I was very disgusted after six months and nothing was completed. The contract reads that the process would take 4 months and we were nowhere near completion.
After initiating the dispute I received a call from Danial Smith, Creative Project Manager Informing me that they were going to give my project top priority and that I had his word that there would be improvement, and the project would be completed by Feb 10th. He asked me to stop the dispute. I tried but it was too late. He told me not to worry that, they would not respond to the dispute and the money would be reinstated into my account. He then asked me to re issue the payment since we were going to continue working together. Taking him at his word, and knowing that I could not dispute it a second time on Visa, I paid him the $949 again through my Discover card. However, they DID respond to the dispute on Visa, sending a bunch of nonsense that was not true, because although work was done, nothing was completed, and what was done was unsatisfactory. In fact, some of the information that they sent I had never seen before such as logo’s and web site design.
Daniel Smith once again gave me his word that it was a miscommunication between him and his finance department. He assured me that he would initiate a credit to my account and that it should post in about a week. It did not. He told me to wait a bit longer, which I did with no results.
Finally Mr. Smith tells me that the credit was rejected by my bank, and that he was going to re-issue it. He sent me a copy of the refund via e-mail. The date on the e-mail was Jan 28th, a Friday. One day prior to the final date I was able to respond to the dispute and therefor missed my opportunity.
Once again during a recent phone conversation Mr. Smith informed me that he once again issued the credit. But later called me offering to pay for a “lifetime” ISBN # worth $1,500 and offered to wipe out my remaining balance of $1,400 for advertising if I agree to forfeit the $940 balance. Which meant he never issue the credit. I was leery because I was certain that ISBN #’s did not cost that much. After agreeing, I did some research and as I suspected there is no such thing as a “lifetime” charge of $1,500, when in reality an ISPN# cost $125 for each one, or you can buy them cheaper in bulk. Once purchased they are for life. In fact after further research I learned that Amazon offers them at no charge.
Mr. Smith is a conniving lier who deliberately dragged out this transaction so that I was unable to respond to the dispute. As of today he has been paid a total of $1,896. $948 from Capital One Visa and $948 from Discover without as much as a refund.
My advice, don't deal with this fraudulent company.

Where’s my refund

I started doing business with kindle avenue in November 2023. I paid the for their services up front because I had the money. The editing was never done on the manuscript and then the told me they do not do ghosting writing. Which it clearly stated on their website. And that is what I needed most. They agreed to pay me back however I never recorded my refund as of today.

Poor Experience Overall

I initiated printing and editing services of my manuscript with Kindle Avenue. My book had to be re published by Kindle Avenue due to serious editing and format errors (at my expense) by staff members at Kindle Avenue. Inconsistent communication (calls and emails not responded to in a timely manner), my account was handed from person to person (at least 4 people named below) within this organization without any clarity as to why (Dushane, Tyler, Brandon, Jasmine). Lastly, I ordered 10 copies of my soft cover books (after the editing had to be re done because of the errors) that I was charged for on 02/16/2024, and to date 02/29/2024 I have no books and when I call/email to inquire about the books, I get no response-radio silence.

To Whom it may concern,

To Whom it may concern,

It is with great pleasure that I have an opportunity to share my experience with publishing my book through the Kindle Avenue Publishing Company. From my initial contact with Ashley Williams to my project manager Jasmine Dsouza , took an intentional and what felt like a personal investment in the publishing of my book. When faced with challenges they solved all the problems in a professional manner and kept in constant communication with me. I cannot emphasize how appreciative I am to Jasmine and her team for the quality of work that has reflected my professionalism and repetition on a global level.
Respectfully,
Elizabeth Marie Galloway Evans, M.S. Ed.

Cheeky & Sneaky--See why

Dushane and Tylar are great people to work with. As for the proofing and editing department, all I know from what occurred with me was I was writing a Christian themed book with my own life-story. I asked for ghostwriting by mistake. Then once this was cleared up I wanted to get my PAID pages processed correctly but this failed because each time my work was returned with only a few pages done. As for what I paid for I never got.

I decided after trying to work closely with the admin team to call it quits. The proofing and editing I recieved all the words in my chapter for God were all capitalized. No I am serious!--And what was worse was when I upgraded to more pages I recieved my full chapter back with only 7 pages done out of 34 pages.

I paid $216 for twelve pages and a foreword.

They put my foreword in the wrong place with my first part of my chapter as that being my foreword.

I tried to explain in detail by phone with several calls but like I said, I gave up because the expectations of the non disclosure were not met and even after all upgrades I wanted to make, they wanted me to pay $350 more dollars to do the same chapter. They were charging me $216 and $350 if I had stayed for the same chapter. $566 for 34 pages.
I did not find it reasonable because I didn't get my first 12 pages even processed correctly.

I asked for a refund. I asked them not to contact me by phone or by text message. I gave them my address asking them to refund with a check sent in the mail. If I don't get a check for what I feel is for my unfinished pages, I said I would report this company for shady business practices.
Be advised that you need more than verbal promises and more than a non disclosure because what the staff says does not line up with the actions. I am really disgusted and terribly let down.
Do not expect too much if you decide to still pursue. You have been strongly cautioned.

Now the company wants me to revoke my complaint here. Wow! I don't know if this review will remain because TrustPilot demanded my full name, ph, email and reference number. The company doesn't have reference numbers for complaints. Hey TrustPilot why would you take this down? People should be aware. Even if KindleAvenue wanted more information, I am the one who's been a victim of fraud. Why would you allow their company to come to you to try to bully me by making it so that if I don't write my personal details to your company that you will take down my complaint? Why? Are you not supposed to be legit? I do not feel comfortable uploading my ID. I can mail it but I refuse to give you my ID number and address. You don't need those to see my card.
Anyways,

So if you do see this, look at BBB before you choose any company.

If you want ghostwriting services there, ask for Kevin. He seems to be thier best. Good luck. P.S TrustPilot wants a photo ID for me to verify this complaint. There is no way I would willingly just fork out my identification to any company. You don't know what privacy and confidentiality there is even if they say they won't use it to reveal you. Anyone can say that!

WOE Prayers from Your Heart

I developed a Words Of Encouragement Ministry sending scripture prayers to many, on a daily basis. One day I thought, why not fulfill your 4th grade passion and publish the prayers and. You could reach the masses!! I searched Google for publishers and chose Kindle Avenue. I first spoke to Ashley Williams; who connected me with Dushane. Dushane and I discussed, at length, my expectations as well as the publishing process. Tyler Norton was assigned as my Team lead. There were many obstacles, more discoveries and aggressive editing along the way. Some of which lead me to Brian, Brandon, and Jasmine. There are errors in the finished book, but Yay, I did it! This is a first for me. My feet are wet, so to speak, with a wee bit of publishing knowledge! I would like to issue a sincere Thank you to all who were involved in this first publishing journey of mine! Blessings

The honest truth about my Kindle Avenue experience

Truth be told, I'm happy with Kindle Avenue and especially my manager Jasmine Dsouza. I don't make a move - at any time of the day - related to my work without checking with Jasmine Dsouza. She has already proven to be central to my forthcoming success in this confusing writing world. The entire team at Kindle Avenue has been absolutely fantastic. Making this large step into an unknown world as a professional writer needs to include a stable, professional, supportive, knowledgable and friendly team. Everyone that I work with daily at Kindle Avenue - starting with Jasmine Dsouza - has checked each of these boxes. Thank you all, team. Let's go!

Started using this service a few weeks…

Started using this service a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! The quality of the content is great and turnaround times are pretty fast. We ran into an issue our first week with a blog article not meeting our standards, but their team quickly resolved the issue by assigning us a different writer. Since then the quality has been absolutely amazing! I highly recommend.
