The tour as a whole was better than…

The tour as a whole was better than expected for the most part.
Our guide, driver and coach were excellent as were most of the workshops and attractions we visited.
Only one glitch, arrived before 5 a.m. in Dublin and was supposed to be picked up and brought to hotel. No driver arrived even after over an hour. We had nobody to contact to find out what to do. We wound up taking a cab, for which we were reimbursed. Otherwise all was great.

A perfect tour for knitters!!!

What a great tour for knitters! I wanted to go to the Aran Islands for 40 years as I have a love for the cabled sweaters from that region - what a dream come true. My tour of Dublin, Connemara, Galway, Aran Islands, and the South of Ireland was perfect. Wonderful hotels, food, history, with a nice variety of tours of Irish crafts, sheep herding, woolen mills, and knitting workshops. Our tour guide, Mary, was a delight who took great care of us and driver, Billy, a safe driver and very friendly. I definitely am looking forward to a future tour with knittingtours.com!

Great knitting tour!!!

I was extremely impressed with the knitting tour. It was
an excellent way to see Ireland, learn some new knitting techniques, and enjoy the company of other knitters. The accommodations were fantastic and the meals exceeded my expectations. I would definitely do another tour with KnittingTours! My only suggestions is to make sure the tour guide has everyone introduce themselves at the start of the tour. Most of the group had friends that came with them, yet there were four of us who traveled alone. I did not know until towards the end of the tour who were the singles of the group. This would have made the trip more enjoyable if I knew others were on there own as well.

Scotland, Wool and Knitting

From the planning of the trip with the Irish Tourism Group to the final wrap-up meal of the tour, the Best of Scotland Knitting tour was an awesome experience. The tour guide and driver(s) were professional, personable and knowledgable. The presentations and classes were educational and informative. The hotels and food were comfortable and tasty. And, Scotland is an absolutely beautiful country. I highly recommend this tour for those interested in everything about wool, from the sheep to the knitting needles to spending time with like-minded individuals. And, there is an additional bonus of learning about Scottish history. If you've considered touring Scotland with needles in hand, this is the tour for you!

Great Trip!

The Knitting Tour of Southern Ireland was really fun. Tourist and knitting activities were well balanced, with ample opportunities for shopping and learning new knitting. I especially enjoyed visits with designers who gave us a look at new techniques and design options.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable trip.

The Irish Tour Association tour of…

The Irish Tour Association tour of Southwest Ireland was delightful. We saw breathtaking landscapes, learned a variety of traditional and contemporary knitting skills, laughed with our hilarious guide and charming driver, and enjoyed the company of our small group of fellow knitting enthusiasts. I would go again in a heartbeat. The hotels and food were lovely too. I would go again in a heart beat.

I had such an amazing time on my south of Ireland and Aran island tour. Everything was taken care of. Our guide Jane was wonderful, making sure we knew when and where to meet. Tim our driver was top notch and I am still amazed at where and how he could maneuver that coach! The knitting instructors were knowledgeable, friendly, and the yarn we received was great. I thought we would see some of the sights, but we not only saw the sights, but we had history lessons too. If you are thinking of going on this tour, go! It is worth it!

Excellent tour and really special…

Excellent tour and really special workshops and visits to folk museums and mills and beautiful small towns and gorgeous scenery. The guide and driver were excellent and the group was wonderful. The food was excellent and we got a good taste of Scottish history from our her.
I was frustrated by the lack of communication from the Tour company prior to the trip. And the meeting at the Edinburgh airport didn't go smoothly at all. I also felt that the Glasgow portion of the trip could have been eliminated or redesigned: perhaps a visit to a folk music club textile workshop of some kind.

Thank you Deena for your review and constructive comments. We are so glad that you enjoyed the tour overall. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the lack of communication. Typically, our clients receive an invoice upon booking and then their itinerary a month or so before departure. In between this time unless there is any significant change to the tour, we would not typically send any additional communications. Of course, if our customers ever have concerns about their booking, they can call us on our toll free numbers at any time. I am sorry to hear that your Edinburgh transfer did not go well. We did not hear of any issues in relation to the transfers before you delivered your initial feedback but it is important to us that our clients do not encounter any anxious moments upon their arrival and as such, while we do supply everyone with an emergency contact number, we will have to see if we can make the meet and greet process even more seamless in the future. Thank you also for your comments on Glasgow. While we do try to ensure a good mix of both knitting & cultural/historical attractions, we will certainly take into consideration your comments on the Glasgow element when developing the touring schedule for future tours.

Excellent Scotland tour

Excellent Scotland tour! Our guide was great, gave us history of places and areas we were visiting as well as making sure everyone had what they needed. Our coach bus was comfortable and the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable about areas. Lots of great restaurant recommendations! I had a wonderful time and met so many new people!

First trip wth knittingtours.com

First trip wth knittingtours.com. The 10 night tour in Ireland was great in part because of our fabulous guide Ann Marie Hayes and coach driver extraordinaire, Brian. Everything happened as planned and the weather cooperated so we were able to participate in the outdoor events such as Dun Aengus on Inish Mor and Slieve League. The knitting workshops and demonstrations were fun. I particularly enjoyed the visit to Mourne Aloacas. Definitely recommend this tour.

Tours offered by KnittingTours.com are…

Tours offered by KnittingTours.com are personalized by native drivers and tour guides, so that it is the ultimate travel experience! I enjoyed all the tours that I've gone on in Ireland and Scotland. The bus driver, Liam, was exceptional in helping me carry my suitcase, as it got heavier and heavier! He was considerate of the passengers and other drivers, as he meandered through the hills and curvy backroads of Scotland on my recent trip. He was always on time, and I noticed that he even took time to wash the bus every day. So were always met in the morning with a clean start, which made each day of our trip so beautiful! The places that we visited have given me many memories that have inspired me, with all of the new techniques that I learned, such as, knitting with a pouch on my hip and long needles, to ease the arthritis in my right shoulder, etc.

It was wonderful and Ann Marie was the best tour guide I have ever had. And Brain was a great driver with all the tight lanes he was very good at getting the bus through. The sight seeing trips we took were so beautiful. The workshop for knitting were to short we needed more time at them.
