BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE – My Kodiak Canvas Nightmare (Still No Refund After 2+ Months)

In August 2025 I ordered an 8.5 × 6 ft Flex-Bow VX tent directly from the Kodiak Canvas website. When it arrived, it was NOT as advertised: the sturdy canvas pole sleeves that allow the windows to vent shown in every photo and video had been quietly replaced with cheap Velcro strips. Huge downgrade in my opinion and zero mention of the change anywhere.

Disappointed, I contacted customer service. After a lot of back-and-forth they finally sent a return label. I shipped it back the same week—it was delivered to their warehouse on September 3rd (tracking confirms).

That was over 70 days ago.

Since then: radio silence.
I’ve called repeatedly (voicemails never returned) and emailed multiple times (no replies).

I’m now forced to fight with my credit card company to get my $450 back. For your own sanity order through a reputable retailer that actually honors returns, NOT directly from kodiakcanvas.com.

Sharing my experience so others don’t have to go through the same thing.

Extremely Poor Customer Support – No Replies for Months

I have been trying to contact this company since March regarding purchasing a tent and shipping it to the UK. I exchanged emails with their representative, Emily and Hanna, but my messages were mostly ignored. In total, I have sent around 18 emails over several months, and they either never replied or provided no real help. Their customer support is absolutely useless – they cannot answer basic questions or assist with international orders. Very disappointed and will not be dealing with them again. Will go with Springbar - all the replies in same day and very helpful.

Emily from customer service is the…

Emily from customer service is the worst.

I had a tent delivered to someone else's house by the looks of the picture it's clearly not my house. I sent this information to FEDEX immediately upon the order being marked delivered and reached out to both FedEx and kodiak.

This comes right after I paid for overnight shipping for this order.

It's now been two weeks and I have no tent and these people have not filed a claim with FedEX NOR HAVE THEY ISSUED A REFUND

Tent is grest...Cust Svc is poor

Our Kodiak 26x8 Grand Cabin is the BEST!
Sadly, we can't say the same for the company assisting its customers. Our tent is stitched extremely well, with thought given to details. The rooms are large with ample storage pockets, and the fabric is tough, as are the zippers. We've been setup for nearly 3 years, and only 2 issues have arisen:  1) canvas lost its water repellant feature and had to be re-coated
AND.  2) add'l porch awning and wall enclosure (both sold seperately) that attach to the tent, were recently torn from their seams by wind, and are in need of being replaced.
The framing poles are thick, and easy to assemble. Occasionally they'll slip, but are simple to re-position. All in all, we've been happy with our purchases. Recently, we reached out to Kodiak, with high hopes, that they'd sell us the wall enclosure (less the poles), and the porch awning piece, (as it's just a sewn on piece of canvas, with a fabric rim and velcro strips). We were shocked and disappointed, when the CR started that they'd sell us the enclosure, but couldn't sell us the awning assembly, stating it was a sewn "in" piece and not sewn on, despite it can be clearly seen from the outside. We disagreed but the discussion was closed, leaving us without a roof to cover our porch. But we were offered the opportunity to purchase a new tent. Wow!
So while the Kodiak product is a high quality item, their Customer Service skills are less than admirable.
