I have untreated diabeties and it's affecting my vision. I have chronic kidney disease and I found out at Piedmont hosiptal. There are cysts on both kidneys I found out at Piedmont Hosiptal after having a C-Scan. Kaiser has not done enough to see what is going on with my kidneys. I have been treated for H/P but I have low blood pressure and the doctor refuses to place the illness in my medical records. After taking the five H/P which Piedmont took me off of. Now I have IKD along with PKD. I wasted over $300 out of my disability check going back and forth to the doctor and I am still ill. I am trying to figure out of they have a five star rating

I would go to Kaiser for an emergency…

I would go to Kaiser for an emergency like a broken bone. But I other than that, I never trust Kaiser with my health, especially long-term health decisions. They are lock step with the pharmaceutical companies and all they want to do is prescribe you with new medications.

10 years ago I loved Kaiser, Today I don’t even go to see them unless I absolutely have to I Pay out-of-pocket for an actual wellness doctor, even though we have full coverage with Kaiser.

I’d advise extreme caution when it comes to using Kaiser for general health

Kaiser PCP/nurses are ignorant

Kaiser PCP/nurses are ignorant, they dont know or refuse to look into or diagnose post/long covid symptoms. and they dont know what immunizations are required for seniors. Or kaiser instructs its personnel not to give referrals to specialist or treatment. Patient has to insist on treatment.

My 96 year old father uses a catheter…

My 96 year old father uses a catheter and it was blocked. During the day the fix is relatively simple involving reinstallation. But, after hours, he went to urgent care and waited 4 hours or more and was in increasing pain as time went by. After checking in and waiting he was told hours later that they did not have access to the necessary equipment ant he would have to go to Emergency. In emergency they ignored what he told them, set up an IV and again he wasn't treated for the condition for hours while his pain continued to increase. When they finally installed the new catheter he was told that they did not have the previous size and would have to instlall a larger diameter. When he wrote a letter of complaint to Kaiser about what happened, and suggesting that the necessary equipment be available at some facility and to direct him to the correct facility - the response was a call from the Urgent Care suggesting that he go directly to Emergency next time. A follow up letter to Kaiser pointing out the facts and that they were not even sending their response to the right address resulted in another communication to the wrong address and how he had the right to arbitration without even an attempt to address my father's underlying concerns. I am disgusted with them!

Maui Land Urgent Care

I've been a member of Kaser the whole 13 years I've lived on Maui. During that time, I think I visited their weekday urgent care unit at Maui Lani maybe 4 times - the last time today. Each occasion was a definite win for me. That unit is clean, courteous, quick and efficient. Simply put, I'm getting excellent return on my $ spent! Thanks.

Our family has been with Kaiser for…

Our family has been with Kaiser for over 12 years. It was great for the first 3. It has continually decreased in patient access and care since then. There are multiple departments and extensions that are either unable or unwilling to provide decent customer service. Most recently, I was transferred to 5 different numbers just to be told that my primary doctor has to prescribe medication for a lifelong condition. The sad part is that I am afraid Kaiser may be the best option out of all these horrible so-called healthcare businesses. Good luck out there.

Kaiser doesn't seem to care

I did like how everthing is connected with Kaiser, however my opinion of them dropped drasticly when I started to experience knee pain. Turns out I had arthritis. I had delt with minor pain for about 10 years. Then the severe pain slid in. I jumped through all their hoops, physical therapy, injections, braces with no improvement. I had to fight to get an MRI and it deffinately showed significant arthritis. I saw 3 different doctors and they all said I was too young for total knee replacement even though I was in a lot of pain all day and night. My quality of life was in the toilet and taking my own life even crossed my mind a few times

I finally left Kaiser and the first doctor outside of Kaiser said, yes, you absolutly need a total knee replacement. I had TKR surgery at the end of December 2023 and do not regret it at all. I am so mad at Kaiser for letting me suffer in pain for nearly 3 years. I will never go back to them and I will never recommend them to anyone I know.

Kaiser Urgent Care refused to see me

Went to Kaise Urgent Care with a pain on my right side. In checking in they looked at my medical history and refused to see me and told me to go to ER. I went to the ER and all they did was do bloodwork and gave me pain medication. I asked for x-rays or an ultrasound and they refused, said I was ok. They charged me $75 and wasted 3 hours of my time. Bottom line, Kaiser Urgent could have done the same blood work in their office. Nurse at the ER even stated that Kaiser is getting lazy and just sends patients to the ER instead of treating them. So I came home the same way that I went in. The pain is still there but according to Kaiser there i nothing wrong with me. Until something ruptures.

Disappointments with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a member with Kaiser Permanente for over 40 years. In past, their medical program was quite good. However, over the last several years Kaiser has taken a noise dive.

They continue to have good doctors, which is the reason I have stayed so long. However, the rest of it is a hit and miss situation with service to the members.

I have had to deal with unhelpful, rude nurses even as an inpatient. This was in their Cardiac inpatient area of the hospital. In addition, at most of their locations, there is very little to no parking available even for disabled members.

The worst is their Emergency Room which members are constantly referred to. The norm is getting to their ER and having to wait almost all day in order to be seen. The last time my doctor wanted me admitted and I ended up in the ER waiting 6 hours before there was a room available in the ER. Totally unacceptable.

Do not believe Kaiser's own Member Services, or It may Cost You!

Following an eye exam last year that showed my macular degeneration had worsened quickly but was not afforded the referral to see an ophthalmologist, I have tried to get Kaiser/Colorado to allow me to see someone in their Medicare Advantage list of providers.

Once again today, I sought help interpreting their "Evidence of Coverage" and "Provider Directory". After being assured that I was correct in my understanding of the Evidence book and am free to seek consultation with an MD listed in the Directory without a referral from Kaiser, I was told by the MD/ophthalmologist's office that they were not a Kaiser/CO provider and would need a referral. I'm awaiting a determination from that doctor's office, as it's clear that once again (such misinformation from Kaiser is nothing new, as previous cancer treatment attempts have shown) Kaiser's own member services people do not know what they are doing.

Billing Dept has been outsourced, nearly impossible to get a Rep for disputing a claim. They read off of cue cards and are clueless at the claim process. Can we bring this back to the US please??

Worst Insurance

I regret switching to Kaiser and can't wait to change next year. I am without a prescription because they won't cover it even though it's on their list - I checked before choosing them. Apparently, they need to pre-authorize a medicine that I have been taking for a while. I was told I needed to try other medicines before they would approve it. I have been working with my doctor for years and have tried other medicines. I am currently unable to take this medicine because they won't approve it and just keeping my fingers crossed that the consequences aren't too severe. I was also told I need to go to their pharmacy and they won't take the pfizer savings card, like CVS was happy to do, and it will cost me five times as much. The site said that two Walgreens in the city were affiliated for prescriptions but their rep said I have to go to them. This is the worst experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. You are also required to talk to someone in order to transfer your prescriptions. They were late to both calls so be prepared to wait.

I know you’re opening was not to what went wrong this time?? i’m shocked because this is the only site that would permit me to review and warn people about this sinister and diabolical character who is living in the guise of being called a doctor!! I can tell you, unequivocally that I was targeted to be intellectually annihilated, but I was also treated by a what I thought was a board-certified dermatologist lie to me and tell me I had skin cancer and that she could treat me in the office and then everything would be OK and after she did the scraping in the culturization, she also burn me in four different other spots since then I have never felt well, when my came back, it said that it was BENIGN-non-cancerous and I knew it actually from the OUTSET that she was trying to hurt me and she injected me with something four different times. I have not been well since she has probably succeeded in killing me, prior to that you can look at my numbers. I have great numbers I have all my life been very athletic diet conscious and stayed on top of my health. Now I know beyond of doubt that she has done something to probably end my life and she think she’s gonna get away with it , without a shadow of the doubt hurt me from the moment she injected me until now, and I will get to the bottom of it and I want this thing to know she got the right woman when she targeted me she put me through hell lied flat out and said I had skin cancer I did not have it. She knew it. She said that so that she could inject me numerous times probably to kill me ultimately because I haven’t felt well since my visit with this physically, horrid most unattractive and verbally she annihilated me. She should be stripped of her medical license and sent back to Nigeria.

My primary physician

My primary physician, Dr. Michele Burk, is not responding and ignoring my messages. This is very unprofessional and I cannot believe how bad my experience was. I have asked several times to get medicine prescribed for my ongoing anxiety attacks and it took almost a week before she responded back saying let’s get on a call.
During that week of waiting, I had a visit to emergency because of the anxiety attacks I was having and very bad chest pains. They also identified that some of my blood work was abnormal. I was sent home but told to follow up with my primary physician on next steps. Next day, I sent an urgent message to Dr. Burk explaining everything, asking for help and medicine that I needed. No response back since message sent on December 9th. I never had this issue with other doctors, the usual turnaround 24 -48 hours, and even then some medical assistant would usually reply back. Here, I feel that I am being ignored and not treated in a proper and timely manner. I then decided to schedule an in person appointment with her to speed up things, but now I have to wait another week since she is not available for some time. I am completely disappointed in the service and hope this will be resolved soon.
