Would like to one day be able to safely…
Would like to one day be able to safely visit Russia as a tourist, to see for myself the incredible geography, heritage and history. I recognise this is not at all very likely though for anyone like myself to be able to freely do this, especially the more today in the current political climate. I am more and more these past years finding myself personally diametrically opposed to much of what President Putin is pursuing in his chosen international official policy agendas. Especially regarding Syrian operations, and the bombing of the civilian population of the free Syrian regions by active leading of aircraft of Russian Aviation. By Free Syria I of course mean just that not under direct current political control of the Assad regime government. Where the citizenry is effectively sadly held hostage as defacto human shields to the Islamist terrorists of the varied Al Qaeda affiliates operating in the country. I also deplore President Putin's current expansionist policies in regards to a greater Russia resurgence, and his suppression of Democratic rights at home within the Russian Federation itself. Including the silencing or elimination at home and abroad violently of all true proper Democratic opposition. I am too personally opposed to the use by the Russian state apparatus of the odious Wagner group and associated mercenary forces deployed globally as little more currently than state sponsored terrorists. I am saddened that President Putin has for past many years sought an inwards, backwards old style Cold War looking policy of geopolitical isolationist track for Russia. Rather than becoming a true global relevent outstanding world leader. Which at his rising to power in the Russian Federation Presidency, he at first outset gave all outwards indications of happily becoming. I used to then therefore be a great keen personal supporter of President Putin myself back in his early days in power in the new Russia. As I believed he would lead the Russian nation to become the leading force for good globally and especially throughout Europe. To this end I even once wrote to him to encourage him in his new office of the Russian Presidency. I had then along with my late mother witnessed his rise to high Russian political office. And noting and seeing too publicised the sad decline of the majestic endangered Russian Tiger, I suggested in letter direct to him through the London UK Russian Embassy that perhaps President Putin as force of good could save the endangered Tiger there. By adopting it as one of the official symbols of prestige and nobility of the newly formed office of the Russian Presidency. As I stated it was obviously an outstanding example of a most noble and majestic Presidential type of Russian native animal. I heard nothing back from my letter of such sent to the London Russia embassy. Next thing I saw some months later, was photos of President Putin with the Tiger together widely publicised internationally following adoption by them seemingly of my simple idea suggestion. They had obviously passed on my idea if not my name, to the department in Moscow of publicity for the office of the Russian Presidency. I felt then very proud. And happy. My mother was elated, as the article in a Sunday paper colour supplement said President Putin had adopted the Russian Tiger as Presidential animal and would act to save it from endangerment and extinction. My mother was generally a good judge of people's character and genuinely respected and liked President Putin then in those early days too. In times since he has however sadly displayed disappointingly instead of much needed global direction in leadership and inspiration, rather a protectionist, isolationist and dramatically belligerent foreign policy agenda pursued instead against the interests of the entire world. I'm convinced by his many obvious perpetrated bad decisions and actions for the bad and not the good. And I'm especially in my heart deeply saddened to see his approval of mass murder by air war bombing campaigns of innocent civilians caught between the warring lines in Syria civil war specifically. What a gigantic leading force for world good he otherwise could have been forever remembered as. Instead now, I think of him as sadly little more than a new modern day Stalin. I've gone as far as to say I believe him guilty of war crimes in his pursued foreign agendas military. What a shame. I think all free and Democratic nations today should isolate Mr Putin. Sending him home all of his diplomatic official Ambassadors. Send him certain uncomplicated no two ways about it, open and clear message. That he must change his terrible course he's decided upon.
I'm actually pleased that today the current NATO Chief signalled openly an end to Russian appeasement
