I only invest very small amounts in cryptocurrency, I am trying to gain confidence and trust in the market and service, but my experience over the past year or so has been excellent. It's basically just a legal scam
It's basically just a legal scam. I will show on exact example (all prices from exact same date and time). Let's say you want same as me buy some BTC. So I deposited 100€. They took a fee 1€. Now I wanted to exchange. However, price presented at HP is not a real price you pay per BTC. At time of writing this review, presented price at homepage is 39456€/BTC, but if you are logged in and want to change € to BTC, it costs 40952€/BTC. And also, 2.99€ fee is added (which btw changes, goes higher if you think about transaction and try to change the amount...). So from your 100€ you deposited you have now 92.5€ in BTC. And that's even you used cheapest way of deposit (instead of credit card), and you still didn't withdraw your crypto (which is another ~8€ in BTC). Worst part about that is, that they are not transparent. They will not present you they have SEPA deposit fee, it's just somewhere hidden on subpage with fees. They won't tell you presented price on HP is just price of BTC in general, not in their exchange. And the another key disadvantages is the support. They weren't nice to me as all, it was just like chatting to a chatbot, only a generic answers without any effort to help. Of course, they are kind, but not helpful at all. I got in chat with two guys, they gave me different answers to my problem, and after all I still don't know which one is truth.
So, my conclusion is, I would never consider registering on this site again, they are literally just legal scammers, who will take a huge portion of your investment. (I'm writing this review as a reaction to making me really mad. I had a coupon for 10€ for free after exchanging 100€ into crypto. So I deposited 100€, and found out I have only 99€. Then I realised, that it's silly to deposit 2€ in order to have 100€ on account, and it's also not worth using exchange at all, because prices presented on homepage were not true, and they have same huge markup as many other exchanges, and even a exchange fee. So I asked the support to help, one guy told me I just have to exchange to BTC worth 95€ after fees, so I felt good. Then I realised, that their rate and fees are so bad that I will get at the end of the day even less than 95€ in crypto. So I asked again, and they told me second time it has to be at least 100€.)

Buy/Sell/Exchange fees
We charge fees when you use the Kriptomat app to buy, sell, or exchange cryptocurrencies. Fees are calculated at the time you place your order and may be determined by a combination of factors, like your selected payment method, the order value, market conditions, order type, and/or your transaction history.
Fees are displayed in the transaction preview screen before you submit your transaction and may differ for similar transactions. By completing an order, you are agreeing to pay the applicable fees for that transaction.
Note that the fees may differ for similar transactions.
Price difference you elaborated:
Please keep in mind that across the homepage and App interface, we display the average price of Cryptocurrency, simply because we do not know do you want to buy or sell at that point, however the moment you initiate any transaction, you see the exact buy or sell price based on what kind of transaction you initiated.
One of the principles of Crypto exchanges is the difference between buy/sell/average price and if you are planning to trade more actively we strongly suggest educating yourself on this topic, so you can comprehend the above-described event as it is an industry standard.

NOTE: When you are paying EUR for Cryptocurrency that is not an exchange that is purchased (buy transaction), as you are making transactions in between fiat money and digital assets - which are non-related classes of assets, so this is not an exchange transaction - but purchase.
Referral reward claim:
We have checked your correspondence with our support team.
We can confirm you did not receive ambivalent information but rather the same explanation on two different examples:
You have deposited 100EUR and when fees were deducted you had roughly 96 EUR of BTC which would make you eligible for the reward, as our system does keep a record of you depositing a sufficient amount of funds.
One agent explained it just as we did above, and 2nd one told you that you must make a deposit of 100EUR minimum in order to be eligible for the reward and just did not explain once again how our system tracks, as it was visible you already have received this explanation and have read it.
So to sum up;
Depositing 100EUR does make you eligible for a referral reward, however, we always suggest depositing +2-3EUR, just to be sure if you are buying some alternative coin, which can demonstrate significant price fluctuations at the time of purchase or anytime during the 30-day hold period.
Once again we are really sad to learn that this is how you perceive our company, particularly as transparency and immaculate reputation have been pillars of our company for the past 6 years, since the establishment of Kriptomat.

As you are aware, prior to informing you that you will not be able to buy or send, you were informed of this action and the reason behind it.
Additionally, if you have deposited money via SEPA bank transfer or your Card, you certainly were able to withdraw funds back to that same account/card, as during the incoming transaction, your bank account/card was verified which allows you to withdraw funds back to it.

BE AWARE Dont work with them, we had 4 transfers with them until we transferred amount above 15,000 Euro, they asked for documents two times even our account were business verified, we provided them with details of transfers in our bank account from other companies which they are not related to kriptomat...
Lastly, when we asked for refund and they closed our account they sent back the money with reference in the transfer "AML check failed" they tried to make for us issues with our bank account.
Dont work with them, they are not transparent and they charge almost 4% on the exchange
Now they will reply that according to the EU regulations they must ask for documents to verify the business, but this all does not make sense when you want to work as crypto exchange and you have already collected documents to verify the business source of funds.

The note on returned assets is mandatory, so we are obliged to state the reason for the funds refund, and it needs to be a genuine one, as Kriptomat has the same status as any other financial institution.
When it comes to the fees, our fees are very transparent and clearly stated across our platform and are not as high as 4%, by any means.
When it comes to the SEPA transfers there is a flat fee of 1 EUR per transactions, so that was all you were charged.

When it comes to the procedure you have described - EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence), it is a mandatory check for all financial institutions, once a certain threshold of funds has been deposited.
Unfortunately, from what we see you were not able to provide the requested documents to our team, and in this case, unfortunately there is not anything we can do but decline the transfers.
In order to not disclose any further sensitive information about you publicly, we will not explain in detail what was the reason, however, the reason for the funds returned was clearly communicated to you prior to the action.

No transparency with fees, VERY bad customer experience
Opening an account was very simple and quick done.
After account verification, I sent for testing 10€ by SEPA bank transfer and they took me 1€ fees for receiving the money. But on their homepage, they write clearly that they take NO fees for SEPA bank transfers.
It’s not the 1€ that bothers me, it’s the lack of transparency. They ‘hide’ fees and the user has to pay them in order to discover them.
This is definitively not the way I want to work! Fortunately I made this experience at the beginning and so only lost maximum 10€ (I am not sure if I will get back the remaining 9€).All the other bad reviews here on Trustpilot confirm me that I was lucky avoiding this fee-trap at Kriptomat. I turned now to binance. They also take 1€ fees on bank transfert BUT all fees are immediately and clearly stated. This should be standard. Telling the user that they take NO fees and then doing just the contrary, this is a NO-GO!
Edit on 25.1.24: In the German conditions that I sent you by email it was clearly written NO FEES for a SEPA transfer. Your support wrote me it was a translation problem. This should not happen. As I prefer to work in German, so before being sure about fees or other engaging processus, I have to double check everything in English language if there is not a translation error? For me it gives no sense to have conditions in German and then not to be sure if they are correct.
Concerning reply Kriptomat 25.1.24:
For sure, there ARE German conditions on your website! And I sent a screenshot of them to your support. An here is what YOUR official Support answered on 8.1.24 on my mail with the screenshot:
"Vielen Dank, dass Sie uns auf das Übersetzungsproblem aufmerksam gemacht haben."
I think this must not be commented any more. Any user reading this on Trustpilot should be able to take his own conclusions.
It is bad to have such translation problems. But it is even worse to deny them. Mistakes happens, but it's not a good idea to hide them by telling they did not happen. I have the screenshot and the mail of the support admitting the translation error. Telling me now that there don't exist translations is ... I let every reader of this terminate the phrase himself :)

I have a deep need to share my experiences with Kriptomat. I registered an account about two years ago, but stopped using it due to the beginning of the bear market. Time has passed, I changed my cell phone and lost access to my 2FA, I also changed my number so I could no longer receive SMS from Kriptomat. With the bear market now nearing its end, I wanted to use Kriptomat and contacted Kriptomat via email on December 24, 2023. To my surprise, I received an answer on the same day, December 24, 2023, and was warmly greeted by Mr. Nicola, which made me very happy. This is not a given on Christmas Eve. Overall, access to my account was restored within a few hours with some cooperation but consistent with the process. I would especially like to thank Mr. Nicola, who patiently accompanied me step by step through the process. Mr. Nicola made me feel like Kriptomat was the right place for me. The large selection of coins is just as impressive as the low fees. But trust is more important to me. So I looked at Kriptomat and the team behind it online and they make a very good impression. I have no doubts. I'm happy to give my money to this exchange. If I can only wish for one thing, it would be the integration of CFX and LDO directly on the exchange, because, like IOTX, they are great projects. Therefore I currently need to access a second exchange. Nevertheless, the friendly service and the variety is astonishing and I don't know this from anywhere else.
