An extremely awful front desk employee named Takayuki Ogawa(小川貴之)

Laforet Ito Onsen Yunoniwa(ラフォーレ伊東温泉 湯の庭)

Avoid this hotel at all costs! Foreign tourists, especially those checking in with children, must beware of a front desk staff member named Takayuki Ogawa!(小川貴之)

I had previously booked and fully prepaid for a stay for "2 adults, 1 child (breakfast included)" through an OTA platform. However, during check-in, Takayuki Ogawa's attitude was incredibly aggressive and awful. He completely ignored the booking confirmation I presented—which clearly stated the child surcharge was included and already paid in full—and unreasonably forced us to pay an exorbitant extra "price difference" for the child (34,144 JPY).

What’s even more outrageous is that he refused to provide a proper, system-printed itemized bill, handing me only a vague "handwritten receipt" that clarified absolutely nothing. Moreover, the details on this handwritten receipt completely contradicted the explanation the hotel later provided to the OTA platform. It was full of contradictory lies!

I filed a strong complaint afterwards. In their email responses, both the hotel and its parent company (Mori Trust) admitted the charge was inappropriate (making the excuse that it was an "operational error") and offered to issue a refund.

The fact that even their own parent company acknowledged the need for a refund proves they know perfectly well that this money should never have been collected in the first place!
