My experience with Lake Trust Credit Union has been extremely frustrating. I paid off my vehicle loan using certified funds after being told that doing so would allow the lien to be released immediately. After making the payment, the information kept changing.
First, I was told the lien would be released once the certified funds were verified. Then I was told they needed to contact my bank. Later, I was told I needed to wait 10 days. Throughout the process, I received conflicting information from different representatives and never got a clear answer about what was actually required.
I have spent days trying to get this resolved and have had to coordinate calls between both institutions myself. Paying off a vehicle loan should not be this difficult. The inconsistent communication and changing explanations made an already stressful process much worse. Based on my experience, I would not choose to do business with Lake Trust again.
