Landers Has Gone Downhill
Landers Superstore in Cebu City has really gone downhill the last 2 years. When I first started ordering from them in 2022, it was a really good experience. They usually had things I could not find elsewhere, pricing was reasonable, and delivery good.
Unfortunately, since 2024, their inventory is gotten worse. They end up not having stock items (milk, mayonnaise, etc.) in inventory and it takes several months for them to refill them. While those items are out, they push other more expensive and less quantity brands. It seems as if they are trying to reduce their overstock by trying to force people to buy items, whose brand they don't want. I used to order 50 items or more with them a month and get all, or 47-48, of them. Now, while I would still order 40-50 items, I only end up ordering around 20 items because they have so many that are "unavailable". And of those 20, I'm lucky to get 14-15 of them.
Their website used to also be great. They would let you build shopping lists for routinely order items. About a year ago, that was done away with, no notice, no explanation. And their search tool is laughable. If you put "shaving cream" in it, the results come back with ANY item having the word "cream" in it's title or description. Creamy chocolate...hand cream...creamy milk. A waste of time to use it.
I've written customer service 3 times when this lowered shopping experienced first happened and just got the usual "we do our best to keep things in inventory and are sorry for the inconvenience" routine. It's the "so sorry, but tough" facade and I quit writing to them.
I've turned now towards using S&R and other stores because Landers has just really imploded. I don't think I'll be renewing my membership with them because I can't depend on them anymore. Really sad because they used to be good. But evidently, after covid, their entire experience went down big time. I'm not going to waste my time here mentioning what they could do to improve. They're not interested in that because it seems all they want to do is cater to in-store shoppers and don't care if people can buy what they'd like, as long as Landers keeps its profits up. (And Landers, if you end up reading this, don't bother trying to respond or contact me. Your time to prove yourself is long gone, after I tried before, and you gave me the runaround.)
