I got a custom keyboard made by them and the product packaging was above my expectations, definitely a 5 star service for that, shipping time and processing of order was delayed - took about 10 days to ship the keyboard from the same city to me but considering the condition of product, it can be ignored. Only had a problem with the pricing. Pricing is extremely high, about 150 for a custom keyboard with standard switches and frame. Would definitely preferred making it myself considering the time spent waiting for it as well. However, if you are inexperienced, unwilling to learn to build and have some spare change for yourself, definitely recommend landingpad.

Predatory pricing and a team that underperforms. It took me 2 months to open a bank account using their service, which caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Everything they do can be done on your own — I’m glad I saved the 4,000 euros they quoted to handle my residency application by following the checklist available online. These types of agent services are unnecessary and exist only to extort money from people in the process of a significant life change.

Update in reply: the response of this business is a perfect example of why you should not work with them:

1. They are dishonest. No banks refused me. My account was stuck in a compliance check for nearly 2 months. Finally I opened an account at a different bank in 2 days.

2. I had hired an agency to help with notorious Portuguese bureaucracy, but by their own admission they were not able to do anything. So it goes back to my initial review that you do not need an agency, because ultimately they cannot help you.

3. Their accusatory reply tells you all you need to know about the people running this business.

When I signed up with LandingPad to use their Portugal visa and residency permit services in mid-2022, I was quoted $3444 Euro for the work, and I had to pay 30% of the fee up front, which was around $1033. I later paid an additional $258 upon completion of setting up my bank account and NIF number, so in total, I paid LandingPad $1,291 Euro.

My mom passed away unexpectedly in Sept 2022, and I could not complete the visa process as I had decided to stay living in another country with my Dad. I recently requested a refund for as much of the $922 remaining as possible. While they had done some work on the visa, I said it was fine for them to keep the 30% payment for the visa services ($554). I asked for the payment in regards to the residency permit, in which NO WORK had been done, to be returned to me ($369). Please note that no where in their initial proposal was it written that refunds were not possible. They refused me twice, saying they had paid their lawyer in advance. That was the decision they made on their end, which ultimately affected me. I was basically charged over $900 for getting some basic questions answered, some documents reviewed and a half hour call with their lawyer. My visa application was not even complete and no work was done on my residency permit. If they felt like a lot of work was done for me, it was because they spent a lot of time going to the SEF (portgual immigration office) to try and set up my NIF number, but the SEF office was constantly closed in July/August 2022 due to Covid protocols.

The Portugal visa process is difficult and the country's bureaucracy means you might be this process for a long time. No one I know has had an easy time with the Portugal process, which is constantly delayed, which requires items such as signed leases before you even submit your application. As such, you are pushed to hire a consultant to help you get around the more difficult parts of the process or else you might never get through it. My advice would be to go with a more established company in this area and to make sure you know where your money is going (in house lawyer versus external) and if payments are refundable or not.

Landingpad made what could have been an incredibly difficult buying experience a breeze. From getting me great mortgage rates, to dealing with the endless paperwork and bureaucratic madness that is the Portuguese system, I've been shielded from the worst of it.
