LEBARA SUCKS

LEBARA SUCKS
PLEASE DON’T SIGNUP WITH LEBARA
COZ THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS
This is a crap network and they don’t care about their customers but more about the money customer service is crap because I was told in order to put data into your data bank I got to set it up on auto recharge
I set my auto recharge through PayPal but Lebara customer service fail to tell me I also have to ring them up to set on auto recharge on Lebara’s end as well and because it didn’t come through Lebara’s end I lost 35GB data as well as $29.90 for the cost of the SIM card as well I ask for a refund of the 35GB because it wasn’t my fault that it didn’t go through and they refund and to add insults to injury one of the customer service lady was treating me like l was dumb and stupid by say you got no data in the data bank I explain my situation to her but she doesn’t seem to care so I ask her how do I put data in the data bank than her reply was to recharge and I said and that’s what I was trying to do by setting up my PayPal account to auto recharge to Lebara and this when around in circles for about 10mins than she said did you call us to setup up auto recharge to which I replied I was told I didn’t have to coz once’s is setup through PayPal the payment should come straight through but it didn’t so how’s that my fault
I told her $29.90 might not be a lot of money for people whom are employed but for a pensioner is a lot of money she still didn’t give a crap she said sorry but we’re not going to give you back the data
This is not a great way to treat any customers especially people on the pension shame on you Lebara

Since there is no mobile app for this…

Since there is no mobile app for this provider I wrongly chose the top up option instead of autocharge through their website which is poorly designed. For the last couple of month I had plan of small package $15 monthly but after this they charged me $150 just within 40 days. I called them and asked them to rectify the issue. First they held me for minutes behind the line and then one of their managers suggested an offer of 6 month plan to compensate. After that I waited hours for them to call but they never called and when I called them again, one of the operator threatened me you are calling too frequently and don't call again. They are rude and dishonest and I instantly changed my sim card to another operator with better a costumer service although I paid another $200.

Terrific experience

I've have prepaid Lebara with Lebara since the first time they landed on Australia mostly because I have family living overseas and I need a cheap reliable carrier. They use the Vodafone network, which has always worked well in the different places I have lived in.

They have the best prices for International calls in Australia. Some of their plans, which I use, allow free calling to both landline and mobile numbers in 45 countries, plus unlimited calls in Australia (1300 numbers included) and unlimited SMS.

Their data packages/addons are also the best in the country, which generous data for little money, data gifting and data bank. I say this fully aware, as I never stay with a carrier that is not good or the cheapest for my needs.

I tend to buy 6 months prepaid plans when they are discounted or in flash sales when they offer extra data; that gives me the best deal I've been able to find in Australia.

You can manage everything online in your member area.

I've never had problems with the quality of the sound or reception unless I am in remote rural areas in Australia.

Frequently, I use the phone mobile data as a main source of my computer's WIFI, using my phone hotspot, and it has rarely failed me or the line dropped down.

The main downsides of Lebara are, firstly, their roaming packages, which are not that cheap. They are cheaper than other carriers in Australia, but Lebara has branches in several countries abroad, so I would expect them to offer special deals to Lebara customers travelling to those countries. But no. Secondly, Customer Support is not as good as it should be; the CS guys are nice and polite, but they aren't properly trained and cannot cope with the amount of tickets they receive.

I am telling you what my experience with Lebara Australia is, which is terrific after years of using them. If yours is differently, I am sorry.

A terrible service - don't waste your time - hopeless

I'm utterly appalled by the customer service that I received from Lebara on the telephone today. I suggest all customers with Lebara to cancel their contracts and never go with them again. Also, if you're considering Lebara - don't bother. The staff are unhelpful and don't care about your needs. I just spent $30 on a SIM and they say I can't use it because their staff member stuffed up the transfer. I'm now taking my complaint to the Telecommunications Ombudsman and will post negative reviews all over the web about this experience if I do not get my National Plan activated by 4 pm today.

Scam-similarities

Lebara offers the opportunity of setting your account up to automatic recharge in case your main balance reaches a specific low point picked by yourself. When this low point is reached, Lebara will automatically recharge your main balance from your provided credit card. Good service right? No!
I forgot to by a new mobile plan which meant that I automatically started using the Lebara services directly from my main balance. Instead of giving me some sort of heads up, Lebara ended up charging me 210 AUD in ONE week, because I was now using the Lebara services without a mobile plan. I was not aware, and I could really have used some proper customer service to let me know that I was pretty much bankrupting myself. But no, the withdrawals from my account did not stop until they reached an alarming 210 AUD!
If you ever come across Lebara mobile - talk a big step away. These conditions remind me of the stories people tell about scams in Eastern Europe.

Data ripoff.

I have used Lebara Australia for several months. Since I depend on occasional, independent internet for my business, I used Lebara's services, for what seemed to be fairly cheap internet. The thing is, that every time I would charge my device – the internet just vanished. I would charge my phone for 3 GB of internet ($25), and within 24 hours it was all gone. All I had done, was checking my mails now and then. This happended multiple times.

NOTE: I turned off every app, that would update or send push messages in the background, to save data.

Baffled, I logged into my account, to find out, piles of 1-2-3 GB of data, was registered as used, within one random minute. Now, I know, that the system might fusion some of the data usages, but 3 GB, only by checking my e-mails in the timeframe of maximum 1-2 hours?

That's simply not possible.

I called Lebara, and after 10 minutes of incredibly annoying waiting music, I got through to a service employee, who told me all the things, that I knew she was going to say. That "every time you use the data in any way, a 1 MB datablock is always be the minimum usage". Still didn't explain how 3000 MB vasnished like that. She ended up sending my request to the technical team.

Calling back later on, they told me, that "all the data was used from browsing and background apps updating."

Really? No further explaination.

I'm astonished to see, that nobody else made a review in here. I would not recommend to use this company, for anything data-related, ever. If you're depending on fair data usage, do not use Lebara. You'll feel cheated and ripped. Simple as that.
