Superb organised trip that felt like a true adventure full of culture and meaningful
We recently returned from a 2-week trip to India organised by Carnet de Voyages, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience.
From the very beginning, the team was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with, both before and during the trip. They showed great flexibility and attention to detail, adapting and personalising the itinerary exactly to our preferences, which made the whole journey feel truly tailored. It was lovely and very personable to have had the occasion to meet Praveen in person too.
Throughout the trip, everything was very well organised. We always had drivers and guides arranged, and even when the initial guide was unavailable, a replacement was provided seamlessly. At no point did we feel unsupported, which made the experience smooth and stress-free.
We were particularly impressed by the quality of the guides. Many spoke multiple languages and demonstrated great knowledge and professionalism.
The most time we spent with was driver Ali in Jaipur who was absolutely wonderful and even took us to the train station and waited with us for 1 hr until we were boarded.
A special mention goes to Naveen, our guide in Varanasi, who truly stood out. He was a fascinating and passionate person, and we really appreciated the depth of conversations we could have with him around topics like meditation and life purpose. What made the experience even more unique was his ability to share sincere and sometimes unexpected perspectives on religion and society, which created a very interesting contrast in such a deeply spiritual city. We also felt especially safe with him, as he was always attentive and made sure we were comfortable in every situation. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide in Varanasi.
We would also like to mention Dawa in Darjeeling, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. He shared his knowledge of Buddhism in such a calm and accessible way, which made the experience both enriching and enjoyable.
Overall, the organisation, reliability, and personalisation of this trip made it a truly memorable experience. We would highly recommend Carnet de Voyages to anyone looking for a well-structured yet flexible and meaningful travel experience.
