Croit Anna Hotel, Fort William

Just had 5 nights at the Croft Anna hotel in Fort William as part of a coaching holiday with Alfa Travel. The hotel was smartly decorated and I had a single room with a sea view and small balcony, which I had paid a supplement for and was well worth it. The room had a very small bathroom - impossible to lean over the sink because of the nearness of the heated towel rail behind you and, you have to stand at an angle to wash. Sliding door to shower leaves a relatively small gap to enter the shower. I struggled to get in to the shower, which I had to do facing sideways and, had to stretch across the shower to the grab rail to hold onto whilst stepping into the shower. Not suitable for a disabled or overweight person. Would be difficult for a grown man to get into. Housekeeping wasn't great - as a minimum I would expect daily the bed to be remade, bins emptied and tea/coffee/milk sachets replenished and on request fresh towels. My bed was only made once, one day the bin wasn't emptied and we had to pick up the sachet supplies from bowls in reception. Not really good enough for a hotel. Food was cooked properly and main courses were good. However 4, yes 4, prawns for a classic prawn cocktail was not even worth putting on a plate. Also not Marie-Rose sauce. For breaded mushrooms you got 3 mushrooms! Soups were not flavourful or seasoned properly. Service was a little slow and a bit haphazard - tables not cleared properly after each course. No choice given for type of toast given after the second day and, had to ask for it to be hot/warm. Cooked breakfast was fine apart from hard tomatoes. Coffee was dreadful- didn't taste as though it had been brewed properly. Some bar staff a bit inexperienced with cocktails. The staff were friendly enough but nothing special. A bit disappointing overall. Feel as though because we were a tour group it was just a case of doing the bare minimum.

Queens Hotel Eastbourne

Recently returned from a 4 night stay at Queens Hotel Eastbourne with my mum. Beautiful building lots of features however, extremely tired room had lots of peeling wallpaper, cracks, damage to bottoms of doors, loose fittings in bathroom, poor flush of toilet, kettle not working and cold and drafty. Food often cold with 'Smash' not real mash. We didn't book 'tinsel & turkey' but were subjected to that despite not even had Halloween or bonfire night!!
Very disappointing stay one lady on reception extremely unhelpful and curt. Thank goodness for great bar staff.

Selbourne Hotel Dunoon Scotland

Stayed at this wonderful hotel twice, in the last few years and had a lovely time.
Fantastic staff, nice room, good food !!!
Was looking back on happy photograph memories and thinking of the sad times, we are in currently with covid 19 and so hope and pray, that this charming hotel, can battle through it all and survive ?
I truly wish you well !
All the staff were lovely and especially the receptionist Susan, ( l think that was her name ) and her husband, whom worked in the bar ( such a comedian - especially when he took the bingo ).
Loved buying all the wee gifts out of the cabinet !
Good luck to you all for the future.
