Bought a skirt that didn't exist.

I was excited to purchase a kilt skirt from Le Kilt in their sale - the Mohair Wrap. On 18th December, I paid £315, which for me was a lot of money.

Twenty days passed and I had heard nothing from the company. I thought perhaps they had been busy during the Chritmas peroid and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, hoping they would be in touch.

Finally, I emailed the company. A few days passed and I heard no response, so I tried calling and got through to voicemail. I phoned again a couple hours later, but nothing. Then I received a text message from the person who I believe is the owner of the company. It said "Im so sorry i cant answer the phone just now. Please can you send me a text message." OK. So I asked if I could get an update on my order.

The woman texts me back and says "So sorry there has been a mix up in our stock levels and it appears we do not have the size 14 in stock. I have issued a full refund. Please do let me know if there's anything else I can help with. Sam"

Were the company just not going to tell me they didn't have stock, take my money and not get in touch with details of their error? Really shoddy service from a brand that should be doing better. I am disappointed that I had to make several attempts to contact them before they replied, and that they did not inform me of the problem as soon as it was identified. I fear that if I hadn't said anything, they'd simply have run off with my £315.

I did receive the refund a few days after this text message. Only after then did I get an email to say I was being refunded.

This company needs to up their game. I am surprised they have been running for so long with this lack of attention to their customers.

After all this, and for several days following, the skirt I see is still available to purchase! That's right: you can still purchase an item that doesn't exist!
