Friendly coaches, safe and well organised....

We've booked our 2 sons in for another week. This has been their best holiday camp. The LGA team have done a great job to put together a fun, safe and affordable summer camp. The coaches are respectful, playful and pay attention to all children.
My sons have made friends and have the best time here.
The bonus for me is also the free lunch they provide for all regardless of income.
We've invited friends and family to join, it's a great initiative!
Louis and team a massive well done!!

My son has developed significantly since he started attending Lets get active. The coaches are approachable and genuinely invested. The atmosphere supports growth, both mentally and sports-wise.
It is honestly one of the most underrated clubs for what they offer. Younger players get the opportunity to meet older, more experienced athletes who openly share their own journeys and the mistakes they've made along the way. That kind of mentorship is priceless. In our opinion, this is the best club around!

Our older son has been attending for two years, and this season our five-year-old joined in. The training quality is outstanding. Beyond basketball techniques, they teach cooperation, conduct, attitude, and sportsmanship. The coaches are fantastic, excellent with both kids and parents. We're also invited to various events, which keeps things lively and interesting. We cherish our weekly two-hour sessions with LGA and eagerly anticipate many more years; the boys are absolutely thrilled.

Brilliant Coaches and Noticeable Progress After Just a Few Sessions

I’ve been attending the classes at Barking Riverside with my son, who had just turned two when we started. He was placed in a group with kids his age or slightly older — and as any parent knows, keeping toddlers engaged and focused is no easy task!

But Coach Ade and Coach Brenda from the LGA team have been absolutely fantastic. They bring so much energy to every session and have a real gift for connecting with young children. They know exactly how to communicate in a way that keeps the little ones entertained while also encouraging them to listen and participate. All the activities are age-appropriate and fun.

My son wasn’t always the easiest to manage, but it was amazing to see the progress he made. After just four sessions, he started listening, interacting, and joining in — without us having to push him too much. One of the things I really appreciated was how many of the exercises could be repeated at home. For example, my son now loves walking around the house balancing a book on his head, just like he learned in class — and he always says “Coach Ade” while doing it!

I honestly couldn’t recommend these classes more. They’re fun, engaging, and I’ve already seen a big improvement in my son’s listening and motor skills after just a few weeks.

Highly Recommend for Skill Development!

My son has been attending the weekly skills sessions, and the improvement in his game has been truly impressive. His confidence, technique, and overall understanding of the game have grown so much in a short time. The atmosphere is always positive and motivating, and he genuinely looks forward to every session. Coach Louis is excellent — not only knowledgeable, but also encouraging and great with kids. The coaching methods are clear, effective, and really connect with the players. We’ve seen a massive difference in every game he plays. I would highly recommend these sessions to anyone looking to take their basketball skills to the next level!

LGA came to my daughter’s school first and once she got the joy of playing basketball, she joined the Sunday sessions. Think it be her 2nd year with LGA and the way she has improved is so great to watch. All of the coaches bring something different and are so professional. Would always recommend LGA to anyone who wants their children to learn skills on basketball but also life skills out of the court. It’s a big community and we love being part of it. 💯

I wanted to take a moment to share my…

I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with my son, Bogdan, and his journey in the basketball club, which we joined just two months ago. We travel all the way from Central London to attend, and I can honestly say it’s been worth every bit of the journey.

Coach Louis has been absolutely amazing. From the very first session, his dedication to making each training session exciting and different really stood out to me. He doesn’t just focus on basketball skills — he works with the players to push their limits, helping them develop in so many ways, both on and off the court. Bogdan has grown more confident, and I've watched him try things he never thought he could do. It’s been incredible to see how Coach Louis motivates them to be courageous and believe in themselves.

What I truly appreciate about Coach Louis is how he teaches the players values that go far beyond the sport. He instills lessons on teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of hard work, which have made a real impact on Bogdan’s mindset, not just in basketball, but in life. It’s rare to find a coach who genuinely cares about the personal growth of each player, and Coach Louis does exactly that.

Another thing I love is how Coach Louis involves the parents. It’s such a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone, and we’ve even gotten to participate in trainings alongside the team, not to forget our parents running club which is run by coach Louises wife, coach Brenda! It’s not just about the kids — it’s about building a community.

I’m so grateful for the positive influence Coach Louis has had on Bogdan. In just two months, it’s clear how much he cares about each player’s success, both in basketball and in life. I look forward to seeing how much more my son will grow under his guidance. Thank you coach! I'm very grateful!
