Ended up costing me more

I booked an intensive driving course and from the outset asked whether I could continue with my existing instructor. I was told I had to use one of theirs, which I accepted in good faith.
Unfortunately, the instructor assigned to me has been unreliable and unprofessional. On two occasions he got lesson timings wrong, cutting into paid time. During lessons, a large portion of time was spent sitting with a pen and pad rather than actual practical driving, which is not what you expect from an intensive course.
A week before my driving test, I lost a lesson entirely. I have also always paid cancellation fees when I’ve had to cancel — including once due to my pregnant partner — yet when the instructor cancels, there is no compensation or replacement offered.
We were supposed to reschedule a lesson for Wednesday 7th, but I received no contact at all. At this point, I no longer felt comfortable or confident with the instructor and have had to contact my previous instructor to take me to my test.
Overall, this experience feels very similar to the many “dodgy” intensive course stories you read about online — poor communication, lost lesson time, and little accountability. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

Imran

Imran, Imran, what can I say, from start to finish this gentleman was nothing but a breeze to learn from, he was patient with me from start to finish it was very easy to understand what he wanted from me from the start and the knowledge he passed on to me without a doubt will help me to become a great driver in the future, if you want to pass first time like I did I highly recommend requesting him! I originally paid for the 15 hours intensive crash course, but after the first 12 he let it known that it was good to get another 3hours in on top of the 15 to secure the pass. I just want to say a huge thank you brother if you’re reading this, the doors that’s opened for me now is a huge milestone, keep up the hard work you do brother it really doesn’t go unappreciated! Biggest love Josh.

Thank you LIDT

I had a great experience with my instructor Imran! He set up a schedule to fit my times of availability and prepared me for my test in a way where it was easy to digest. His techniques in teaching and his knowledge of routes instantly made me comfortable. The service he provided was outstanding, he was friendly, reassuring and empathetic. I was confident in my abilities to pass my test because of his methods. I would highly recommend LIDT to anyone that wants to learn quick and pass asap!

Everything about this company is very…

Everything about this company is very poor. After I purchased a test I was waiting for a confirmation email which they said should take no longer then 24 hours, I wrote an email 3 days later and I got no response. I then wrote a new email a week and a half later to get a reply saying that the test I paid for has gone to someone else after my payment got overlooked by a new trainee

Very patient, clear and methodical. Quick to pick up on your weaknesses and addresses them with expertise in order to iron them out and get you well prepared.

I wouldn’t recommend booking with LIDT

I wouldn’t recommend booking with LIDT. They come across as professional at first, but things quickly change if something goes wrong. If your instructor becomes unavailable, they try to send a replacement just a few days before your test and expect you to accept it with no proper preparation.

Their terms say the deposit is refundable if they can’t allocate an instructor in reasonable time, but four days before a test is not reasonable. If you’re not happy with the last-minute change, they refuse to refund you and claim you’re still responsible for paying the full amount.

It feels unfair and like they take advantage of people in stressful situations. Customer service was unhelpful and didn’t take any responsibility. I wouldn’t trust them again.

LIDT has been an absolute revelation in…

LIDT has been an absolute revelation in my driving journey! From the moment I signed up, their customer service was outstanding. They were incredibly helpful with all my questions and wonderfully accommodating when it came to selecting test centers that worked with my schedule and location preferences. Their administration team made the entire process smooth and stress-free, handling all the booking details efficiently so I could focus solely on learning to drive.

But the true highlight of my experience was my instructor, Mabz. I cannot praise him enough! Our lessons were the perfect blend of professional instruction and genuine fun. There wasn't a session that went by without laughter filling the car, making even the most challenging driving situations feel manageable. His approach to teaching was refreshingly personalized - he quickly identified my learning style and adjusted his methods accordingly.

What made Mabz exceptional was his perfect balance of encouragement and accountability. When I performed well, his enthusiasm was motivating, but when I made mistakes? Let's just say he wasn't afraid to kick my butt into gear! His constructive criticism always came from a place of wanting me to succeed, and it was exactly what I needed to improve.

His technical knowledge was impeccable, but it was his ability to explain complex maneuvers in simple, practical terms that really accelerated my learning. Despite his professional demeanor, Mabz created such a comfortable learning environment that I actually looked forward to my lessons - something I never expected when I started this journey!

If you're looking for a driving school that combines professionalism with a genuinely enjoyable learning experience, I couldn't recommend LIDT and especially Mabz more highly. Mabz turned me from a nervous beginner into a confident driver, and I'll be forever grateful for the skills and memories I've gained along the way.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ THANK YOU!!

LIDT has been a confidence destroying…

LIDT has been a confidence destroying experience.
I feel like I need to let other people know so they don't become a victim as well. I've reported the incident to all the relevant authorities and awaiting an investigation.
The instructor I had (Aziz) took hidden action to move the car into a very limiting position while I was in the office waiting for the examiner, minutes just before the start of the test. The car was moved without my consent/ visibility into a very narrow space where it was very difficult for me to get out from. This caused a lot of distress from the kick off, put me in a dangerous position and the stress carried out throughout the route as it was clearly a setup and an unacceptable move from the instructor. When confronted with this directly after the test, the instructor blamed me for not executing the maneuvre correctly, not recognising that he sabotaged it to start with. The office has not been helpful with finding a resolution and will most likely cover up to protect their reputation. This is how fraud takes place in 2024, London, UK.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

The instructors should be trained in customer service. The quality of the service is very poor. It is only the money that matters to them. THESE TEST ARE EXPENSIVE, SO THE STUDENTS SHOULD RECEIVE BETTER TREATMENT. HYPOTHETICALLY, IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN, THEY WOULD SAVE THEIR CAR RATHER THAN THE STUDENT. DRIVERS ARE OVERCONFIDENT THAT THIS makes them rude.

I fully recommend Imran

I fully recommend Imran. His patient, calm, encouraging and flexible approach made learning to drive easy and fun. I can’t thank him enough, and to top it off he’s a good person supporting his family. He genuinely cared about me passing my test and can’t wait to get on with PassPlus next. Thank you Imran!

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. I made a booking through their website and all information seemed correct, I received a confirmation. However, Abdas mailed me to say there was a problem and it may be with my licence information, but all of that looked correct. I tried calling but nobody is answering, the phone line goes dead. When I emailed Abdas back and tried the other emails, he responded that I had “refused” to provide my licence details and that I had been refunded. I still haven’t received this refund and it’s all basically untrue. Appalling customer service.

Data protection

Regrettably, my personal information is being utilized by LIDT to reserve driving tests, which they subsequently resell to others. Since I had previously made a booking through them but did not pass, they have retained all my details. As a result, whenever I attempt to book a test via the Gov.uk website, it indicates that I already have a test scheduled and cannot proceed. LIDT are despicable thieves and scoundrels.

THIEVES

I took the week off work and signed up to get my license within a week, but that was not the case. My instructor was called Imran, and he said he'd get me test-ready but spent the three days talking to me about his religion and trying to persuade me to convert. In terms of driving, he installed no confidence in me and was micro-managing everything I did. He was more focussed on trying to get me over the finishing line rather than genuinely teaching me fundamental driving skills

It doesn't stop there. On the day of my test date, I had to find out they gave me the wrong time, and I missed my test. They accepted liability for this in the most cowardly way possible and promised they'd reschedule for me.

To this date, I've had no rescheduling or contact from them for an updated test day. The only time I've communicated with them is when I contact them.

Complete theft and a waste of my time and resources. DO NOT BOOK THEIR SERVICE AT ANY COST - PLEASEEEE!

Avoid if you can.

I used it & wouldn't recommend it for multiple reasons. Firstly, they take the initial booking amount (about £220) by card while you book & then the instructor insists you pay to remain by cash only. We know the secret why they wouldn't take the card.

On the given date, I met my instructor Mr X (Hiding his identity as I don't want to happen complications with his job) & shared that I don't have UK driving experience but wish to pass the test which was scheduled two months after. While discussing with Mr X I realised that he is having enough experience & would be the perfect instructor for me. Nevertheless, within half an hour he transformed from a nice guy to an over-aggressive person & expecting a "perfect" driving from me.

Mr X's aggression had started increasing lesson by lesson. Most of the time he screamed & scared me during the lessons I was driving under unexceptional terror. He used to refer to his known dead people who lost their lives while driving which implies that even my minor mistakes drag me to death.

One day, Mr X crossed all the limits & loudly screamed at me & asked whether I am drunk, that was very personal & offensive. He had no shame to make any personal remarks & one day he asked whether my family members (specifically mentioned Wife & Dad) are feeling comfortable when I was driving backcountry.

I made a complaint with LIDT & they changed my remaining lessons with Mr Imran who is phenomenal. He has lots of patients & his teaching skills are up to the mark.

Unfortunately, I couldn't pass the exam as I spent very little time with Mr Imran & wasted many hours with abusive Mr X. When I failed the exam, I was repeatedly chasing LIDT but no one from their office was available to re-book my test. They used to ignore all my emails & calls.

Finally, I decided to go with the local instructor where I live & passed the exam. Happy ending! But not with "LIDT".

SCAM - I LOST £350 + TEST DATE

I cannot express this enough - do NOT use this company. I genuinely think it's a scam. Even though I had booked on their website and paid the deposit, they cancelled my booking without checking with me first - totally random. So I lost my test date and also the lessons beforehand. I emailed them a few times - didn't get any reply. So I started calling, and I dealt with someone called Diana - who was super infuriating, as she kept saying she was 'sorry' but would refuse to say any other words whatsoever. She couldn't explain why my booking had been cancelled, and could not get me another booking for the same dates / similar dates, in order to use my deposit and still be able to pass the test. I asked to speak to her manager but every time she said he (apparently a 'Mr Abdu') would 'call me back' but he never did. Then she started telling me to email instead, which I did, with no reply. Then ultimately, she just admitted her manager did not want to speak to me, and to use legal action if I wanted this issue resolved.

Excellent company

Excellent company, did what it says on the tin, from start to end, I have learnt how to drive with imran , with the new blue ford focus, also the admin staff was Brilliant, got me a test date, that suits me,within a week, bear in mind the normal waiting list 12 to 13 weeks long, cant recommend thes guys enough, keep up the good work guys👍😆
