Needs better reporting - especially micronutrients

Overall a very pretty interface with a mix of trendy but similar diets. Easy to enter most foods via scanning. The food database is not crowdsourced. Includes meals with shopping lists. But missing the ESSENTIAL reporting needed to understand current nutritional needs and plan and maintain a nutritional diet: Where is Micronutrients and vitamin reporting? The manual tracking option for veggies, fruit, and seafood seems useless and time consuming. The ability to securely share nutrient and progress info seems to be missing. Finally, uses BMR/RMR which are known to be inaccurate as they do not take into consideration many factors including body type and muscle and fat percentage (there is not currently a way to know these measurements without the proper tools). What can be improved is a calculator for estimating energy burned as most people overestimate this. There are much much better free apps for nutrition and weight tracking out there.

Amazing app

The app is really good. It does exactly what you want, you can scan products easily and track what you eat. I used it heavily for around 3-4 months to see what my diet was like, where the calories came from etc. It was super helpful. After this I had enough information so I kind of stopped using it.

Forgot to cancel my subscription and was charged for another year, messaged the customer support and they gave me a full refund within 1 day. It couldn't have gone better.

Will definitely use this again once I feel the need to track my food.

Don’t trust the calorie counts

I was introduced to Lifesum through my employer so I gave it a go but I didn’t rate it at all. I had to keep re-linking my Fitbit every day as it’s more geared towards Apple. Also the database of foods is not a patch on another app I use. You can have three entries for the same food but different calorie counts so I don’t trust it. The count’s didn’t even match the product and a lot of it was in cups so presumably American. I am sorry but not being able to trust a calorie counting app makes it no use to me.

Just ok…with disappointments

I like this app for tracking calories it has been very helpful. However, what is disappointing is that you cannot link Strava and other apps to Lifesum as they haven’t got it figured out yet. This is a bit of a disappointment and I hope they sort it out soon. Otherwise, I will be going elsewhere.

Too much work to track food.

I've been using the app for the three month paid trial period and have opted not to renew for the following reasons: 1) The food database is too hard to use and is full of misspellings and incorrect information, which means that I have to scroll through for several minutes just to find something close to what I'm looking for; 2) I can't easily find foods that I've eaten in the past so that I can add them to the current day... there is no order that I can figure out... alphabetical or a search option would be best; 3) adding a food or a meal takes a really long time because you have to enter so much information that I was discouraged after the first few tries.
I very much wanted to like this app but it just is too labor intensive. The interface is attractive but the issues that I've described have made me decide to spend my money elsewhere.

Premium Account without confirmation from my side

I have had a premium account for two years. Now I have also installed Lifesum on an old cell phone. Since I did not want to link the new account with the existing Premium account, I created a completely new account. Without my intervention, this was created from Premium Account. Because I first thought it was a bug (possibly taken over from the existing account), I created another new account with another mail address. This is also automatically displayed as a premium account. This I have not ordered and now I have 3 (!!!) Premium Accounts. In my Play Store, I immediately canceled the existing one. About the Play Store of the email addresses of the two new accounts is no payment in subscriptions noted, yet the account is indicated as premium and I have no way to cancel these two false premium accounts. Absolute rip-off of the customer, because I have no possibility to cancel via the Play Store and therefore can not cancel the subscriptions. However, I didn't even had to specify a payment method for the accounts either. It just says Premium there. Lifesum is not available. As I said, I canceled the existing account directly. Such a thing does not work at all.

Impossible to cancel once you subscribe! Their website says it has to be cancelled from where the subscription was purchased. I can see it in My Subscriptions but no option available to cancel.

Beware!

Canceling it too difficult

Bought a 1 year subscription to support the nice app. I put a reminder i my calender to cancel in time. When I logged in on the homepage and when to "Manage Subscription", where was not cancel option. So I hade to write to support. I asked if and how I would cancel myself, but they did not answer that question. I therefore assume that it is not possible :-( However, the nice supporter could do the cancel. Though, it should be easy to cancel, which it is not.

2023-02-07: Got answer from support, saying there should be a cancel option in the the app. Changed rating from 2 to 3 based on answer, though still think they should have made it easier to cancel with an option on the web page also.

Canny cancel subscription

No stars
An impossible company to deal with. I had cancelled after day l(in the trial period)one and still they took the money. I’m still trying to cancel six months later. The app does not allow me to do it. I purchased through Apple app store and still can’t cancel as they say needs to be done through Lifesum. The company make it difficult to cancel. What is the answer?
I’ve tried following the online instructions to cancel, they have cleverly left off the me button.

I purchased a 1yr subscription Feb 22 and it was deactivated October 22 and expiration Is only Feb 2023. I have reached out and had someone by the name of Emil who tried to help me. It’s been 2 weeks and still no changes. I hear from him if I’m lucky every 2 days. Customer support sucks. I was told they have no records for me so I eventually sent a screen shot of my payment. I would definitely pay a little more for fitness pal or any other app. Sometimes cheap isn’t better. Basically I am unable to track and I have purchased the premium package as well.
They don’t deserve a star period!
What a waste of my money.

I've used this app for a couple of months, but I've had a lot of issues with the app itself. It's very laggy the loading times are really long. I become very stressed when waiting for the foods to load, I've decided to stop using it.

Lovely App interface but recipes too extreme and calorie count sometimes inaccurate

The App interface is very appealing and I was really looking forward to using it, and signed up for premium.
This was a mistake as I found several problems with it:
1. I hated all the notifications and reminders.
2. I couldn’t get it to sync with my Fitbit at all.
3. Lots of the calorie listings seemed inaccurate.
4. (This was the biggie), I just didn’t like the recipes. I feel the App is perhaps designed for young people with exotic tastes, clean and vegan eating and a love of smoothies and ‘bowls’. This is all too extreme a departure from my regular eating for me to be able to embrace. Not the right App for me.
5. Finally, any of the recipes I did like the look of had way to many calories for me to lose weight on.
I got a refund and will return to MFP and my own recipes I think.
